  5. BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL (Part 1)
  6.
  7. Our reading of the Word today is taken from the Psalms of David where he said:
  8.
  9. “BLESS the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, BLESS His holy name! BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS” (Psalm 103:1-2).
  10.
  11. We thank the God for this Word of BLESSING. This passage of Scripture which is a voice of melody is one of the most powerful Psalms sang by King David to show his gratitude towards God for His everlasting LOVE, and KINDNESS and tender MERCIES.
  12.
  13. We must know that David the king was a man of SPIRITUAL FAITH. He did not say “BLESS the LORD O my flesh,” because the human “flesh” cannot “BLESS the LORD.” Not only that, but also we must know that the “flesh” is an “enmity” against God, and it is not “subject to the LAW of God” (Romans 8:7). Therefore those who want to “BLESS the LORD” with their “flesh” cannot please God (Romans 8:8).
  14.
  15. However it is very sad that there are many believers in Christendom who “BLESS the LORD” with their “flesh.” Due to this, when a Christian write an application for employment and they job is offered to him he will say, “BLESSED the LORD O my soul.” Others too say the same thing when they are granted visa to travel abroad. When a Christian mother also receive the news that his son has been granted a scholarship to study abroad at a foreign University, she will also say, “BLESSED the LORD O my soul.” Others who also get promotion at the work place will also say, “BLESSED the LORD O my soul.”
  16.
  17. Those who live their life of FAITH like these are the ones who do NOT worship God in “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24), but in the “flesh.” We must understand that before one can say “BLESSED the LORD O my soul” it must be for a SPIRITUAL purpose. This is because the “soul” is the immaterial person of the human NATURE. David was a man in the Old Testament, but he was SPIRITUALLY MINDED to the extent that the “HEART” of his “soul” was always PRAISING God for the SALVATION of JESUS CHRIST fulfilled by His water baptism and blood of the Cross.
  18.
  19. When David says in our Scripture reading that his “soul” should “BLESS His holy NAME,” he is referring to the Lord JESUS CHRIST. The name “JESUS” means the One who “will SAVE His people from their SINS” (Matthew 1:21). King David therefore BELIEVED in this powerful “NAME” because “there is no NAME under heaven given among men by which we must be SAVED” (Acts 4:12).
  20.
  21. David therefore understood the perfect SALVATION of JESUS CHRIST even though he was serving God under “the shadow of the GOOD things to come” (Hebrews 10:1). And because David BELIEVED in the “holy NAME” of the Lord JESUS, he was among those of whom it is written, “But as many as RECEIVED Him, to them He gave the RIGHT to become CHILDREN of God, to those who BELIEVE in His NAME” (John 1:12).
  22.
  23. David was therefore given “the RIGHT” to become a CHILD of God because he BELIEVED in the “holy NAME” of JESUS who came by water, blood and the Spirit (1 John 5:6). He knew very well that the name JESUS is alive, and it is this “NAME” which SAVED his “soul” from Sheol. That is why he THANKED God saying, “For You have DELIVERED my soul from DEATH, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling” (Psalm 116:8).
  24.
  25. We must know that it is JESUS CHRIST who delivered us from “the wages of SIN” which is “DEATH” (Romans 6:23). And this is what actually brought “joy” to David. That’s why he said that God has also “DELIVERED” his “eyes from tears.” And because JESUS is “the anchor of our soul” (Hebrews 6:19), king David said that JESUS has “DELIVERED” his “feet from falling.”
  26.
  27. All these BLESSINGS which were given to David through the RIGHTEOUSNESS of JESUS CHRIST is what made him to say, “BLESS the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, BLESS His holy name! However, it is so sad that many Christians have been singing this hymn and Psalms of David without any meaningful impact to their “soul.”
  28.
  29. As Christians, if we fail to believe in the gospel of the REMISSION OF SINS fulfilled by the baptism, the blood, and the resurrection of JESUS and we open our mouth to say, “BLESSED the LORD O my soul,” then God will tells us, “These people draw near to Me with their MOUTH, and honor Me with their LIPS, but their HEART is far from Me. And in VAIN they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:8-9).
  30.
  31. Here when God says “but their HEART is far from Me,” he is talking about the “HEART” OF the “soul.” As for David, his “HEART” was not “far away” from God because he BELIEVED in the SALVATION of the “soul” by JESUS CHRIST. That’s why God spoke about him saying, “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own HEART, who will do all My will” (Acts 13:22).
  32.
  33. Also when God says “These people draw near to Me with their MOUTH, and honor Me with their LIPS, but their HEART is far from Me,” it means that such people have not received the gift of the REMISSION OF SINS in the “HEART” of their “soul.” We must not forget the words of JESUS when He said that there are 12 kinds of SINS in the human “HEART” (Mark 7:21-23).
  34.
  35. Every Christian must therefore understand the fact that it is SIN which separated us from God (Isaiah 59:1-2). Therefore when the SINS in one’s “HEART” is not completely WASHED from any debris of darkness through the water and the blood of CHRIST, God says “but their HEART is far from Me.”
  36.
  37. David was a very HUMBLE person. And because he also BELIEVED in the SALVATION of his “soul” from SIN, he was NOT like “those who draw back to perdition, but of those who BELIEVE to the SAVING of the soul” (Hebrews 9:39). That’s why he could sing, “BLESS the LORD, O my soul.”
  38.
  39. Our study continues..........
  40.
  41. If your “soul” is “BLESSED,” then “BLESSED the LORD.”

  51. BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL (Part 2)
  52.
  53. Our Scripture reading will be taken once again from the Psalms of David where it is written:
  54.
  55. “BLESS the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, BLESS His holy name! BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS” (Psalm 103:1-2).
  56.
  57. In the previous day we understood from this passage that it is our “soul” that can “BLESS the LORD” and not our “flesh.” We also studied in detail the meaning of the “holy NAME” of JESUS and how SALVATION from SIN is obtained through His “NAME.”
  58.
  59. Today we are going to look at the second part of our Scripture reading where it says, “BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS.” Which “BENEFITS” was David talking about here? And WHY did he say that his “soul” should not forget about these “BENEFITS” from the LORD?
  60.
  61. The answer to these questions is explained to us in the subsequent verses of the same chapter of Psalms. David spoke about these “BENEFITS” verse by verse as he was singing it in a form of PRAISE. So we will look at the “BENEFITS” verse by verse as follows:
  62.
  63. VERSE 3 says: “Who FORGIVES all your iniquities, who HEALS all your DISEASES.” I have been saying that the greatest OBSTACLE which prevents people from comprehending the Scriptures is the thoughts of the “flesh.” And there are many who read this verse and think that David was talking about FLESHLY “DISEASES.”
  64.
  65. However we must understand that when JESUS says, “For from within out of the HEART of mean, proceeded evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness” (Mark 7:21-22), He is talking about the SPIRITUAL “DISEASES” of the “soul” of mankind.
  66.
  67. JESUS mentioned these “DISEASES” by tracing it from the root cause which is the “HEART” of the “soul.” And because JESUS Himself is our SPIRITUAL DOCTOR who came by water and Spirit to “HEAL” us from these “DISEASES,” He said: “Those who are WELL have no need of a PHYSICIAN (doctor), but those who are SICK. I did not come to call the RIGHTEOUS, but SINNERS, to repentance” (Mark 2:17).
  68.
  69. The most remarkable thing is that God made the “Soul” of JESUS who is the DOCTOR of our “spirits” an offering of SIN so that He will “HEAL” us from these deadly SINS which were injected into the “soul” of Adam and his descendants by Satan the enemy of “good.” Isaiah prophesied about this when he said, “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His Soul an OFFERING for SIN” (Isaiah 53:10).
  70.
  71. And because Isaiah himself understood the HEALING POWER of JESUS CHRIST, He said, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement of our PEACE was upon Him, and by His stripes we are HEALED. All we like sheep have gone ASTRAY; We have everyone turned to his own way; And the LORD has LAID on Him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:5-6).
  72.
  73. Every Christian must pay attention here. Isaiah who was filled with the “Holy Spirit” to utter these words is saying that God “HEALED” us from the sinful “DISEASES” because He “has LAID” on JESUS “the iniquity of us all.” God did this when JESUS received baptism from John the Baptist in the form of the “laying on of hands” as prophesied in the 3rd Book of Moses (Leviticus 16:21). Jesus then died on the Cross and resurrected.
  74.
  75. Therefore if you are a Christian and you think that all that JESUS did was to die on the Cross for you, then you must know that you cannot be “HEALED” completely from your “DISEASES” because you have rejected the medicine of His “WATER” baptism by which He took away your SINS upon Himself. Don’t forget that He came by “WATER and BLOOD” (1 John 5:6). These are the vaccines of JESUS CHRIST which destroys the pathogens of SIN completely from your “soul.”
  76.
  77. The “soul” of David was HEALED from the SPIRITUAL “DISEASES” in the shadows of the sacrificial work of atonement by JESUS CHRIST through His virgin birth, baptism, death, and resurrection. That’s why David was singing that his “soul” should “BLESS the LORD” JESUS because He is the one who “HEALS” all His SPIRITUAL “DISEASES” of SIN.
  78.
  79. In fact David prophesied a lot about JESUS CHRIST in his Psalms, and JESUS Himself confirmed this when He said, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that ALL things must be FULFILLED which were written in the LAW of Moses and the PROPHETS and the PSALMS concerning Me” (Luke 24:44).
  80.
  81. As Christians, when we BELIEVE in JESUS the proper way, the “BENEFITS” which we receive from JESUS includes the RESTORATION of our “soul” whereby the “soul” is “HEALED” from all the “DISEASES” of SIN. And this is among the “BENEFITS” which made David to say, “BLESS the LORD, O my soul.”
  82.
  83. And the reason why David said, “And forget not ALL His BENEFITS” is because everything which JESUS did to “HEAL” us from SIN is absolutely and perfectly “ETERNAL.” and we cannot forget the “ETERNAL” works of the Lord JESUS.
  84.
  85. Our study continues............
  86.
  87. Let us offer continuous PRAISE to the “PHYSICIAN” of our “soul” – JESUS CHRIST.
  88.
  89.
  90.
  91.
  92.
  93. BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL (Part 3)
  94. Our Scripture reading is still taken from Psalms where David sang:
  95. “BLESS the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, BLESS His holy name! BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS” (Psalm 103:1-2).
  96. In the previous day we started looking at the “BENEFITS” of believing in the “holy name” of JESUS CHRIST in His righteous salvation. We learnt that David spoke about these “BENEFITS” in the subsequent verses in his song of PRAISE. Therefore we studied in detail the VERSE 3 where he said, “Who forgives all your iniquities, who HEALS all your DISEASES,” and we understood how JESUS our Saviour healed us from the spiritual “DISEASES” of SIN.
  97. So let us continue and take a look at the other “BENEFITS.”
  98. The VERSE 4 says: “Who REDEEMS your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.”
  99. Here we can see that David did not cease to give thanks to God for the “REDEMPTION” of JESUS CHRIST. The words “destruction” refers to the burning sulphurs of “hell” which God will use to DESTROY every SINNER. That’s why the Apostle Paul said that, “It is a FEARFUL thing to fall into the hands of the Living God” (Hebrews 10:31).
  100. Because of our “iniquities” and “transgressions,” we were all supposed to be DESTROYED with the condemnation of “hell.” But the Lord JESUS came to our RESCUE by being born in the same likeness of our sinful BODY but without a SIN NATURE. And by giving Himself for our SINS (Galatians 1:4) through His baptism in the Jordan River, shedding His blood, and resurrecting from death, He “REDEEMED” our “soul” from the “destruction” of “hell.”
  101. He did this because of His KINDNESS and MERCY towards us. That’s why David says, “Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.” Therefore anybody who is crowned with the “lovingkindness” and “tender mercies” of CHRIST shall not come into judgment, but He has passed from DEATH into LIFE (John 5:24). When the LORD “crowns” you with this “lovingkindness” and “tender mercies,” it means He has given you “victory” over sin, judgment, and the destruction of hell.
  102. VERSE 5 says: “Who satisfies your MOUTH with GOOD things, so that your youth is RENEWED like eagle’s.”
  103. A canal Christian may read this and think that when it says “Who satisfies your MOUTH with GOOD things” it is talking about physical food. But in order to understand this passage, we must remember the words of the Lord JESUS when He said, “Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak GOOD things? For out of the abundance of the HEART the MOUTH speaks” (Matthew 12:33).
  104. Here JESUS tells us that every human being is born with the 12 kinds of SINS in the “HEART” and therefore they cannot speak “GOOD things.” Even if a human being speak “GOOD things” JESUS the Almighty Creator sees it as “HYPOCRISY” because what is inside the spiritual “HEART” of man is different from the outside (Matthew 23:27-28).
  105. We must therefore know that we were all born with SIN, and therefore our “HEART” was full of SIN. But because JESUS accepted our SINS upon Himself when He was BAPTIZED, and He became “the LAMB of God who takes away the SIN of the world” (John 1:29), the SINS in our “HEARTS” were REMOVED, and we are now filled with His “RIGHTEOUSNESS.”
  106. As a result of this, our “MOUTH” can offers PRAISE to His glorious and “holy NAME.” This is what David mean by “Who satisfies your MOUTH with GOOD things.” It means your “MOUTH” cannot be filled with “GOOD things” if your “HEART” is not filled with the “GOOD things” of God’s “RIGHTEOUSNESS” which enables you to utter PRAISE to Him with your “MOUTH.”
  107. Therefore when God used the same David to tell us that, “I am the LORD your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; Open your MOUTH wide, and I will FILL it” (Psalm 81:10), we must not try to understand it with CANAL minds. Here when God says “Open your MOUTH,” He is talking about opening your spiritual “MOUTH” to eat His “Word” (JESUS CHRIST) by FAITH so that you can be “FILLED” with His “LIFE” because He is the last Adam who gives LIFE (1 Corinthians 15:49).
  108. That’s why JESUS told us, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you EAT the FLESH of the Son of Man and drink His BLOOD, you have no LIFE in you” (John 6:53). Therefore when we “open” our “MOUTH wide” to eat the “FLESH” of JESUS by believing that He bore all our SINS on His BODY when He was baptized by John the Baptist, and we “drink His BLOOD” by believing that He died on the Cross to shed His BLOOD to pay for our SINS, then we will understand what David mean by “Who satisfies your MOUTH with GOOD things.”
  109. Unless we “EAT” the spiritual food which God has provided for us, we will never understand what David mean by “Who satisfies your MOUTH with GOOD things.” God is teaching us the “mystery” of His holy Scriptures. May His “NAME” be praise and adored forever and ever.
  110. Also when David says “so that your youth is RENEWED like eagle’s,” he is talking about spiritual RENEWAL and “the strength of SALVATION.” That’s why God told us in Isaiah that our knowledge and wisdom in the SALVATION works of JESUS will become “the STABILITY” of our times, and “the strength of SALVATION” (Isaiah 33:6).
  111. Brothers and Sisters, when we think about all these things which JESUS CHRIST has done for us in His “LOVE” and “MERCY,” then we can only agree with David and says, “BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS.”
  112. Our study continues.............
  113. The “GOODNESS” of the LORD JESUS is just too much.

  122. BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL (Part 4)
  123.
  124. Our Scripture reading is still taken from Psalms where David sang:
  125.
  126. “BLESS the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, BLESS His holy name! BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS” (Psalm 103:1-2).
  127.
  128. Brethren, we are still looking at the “BENEFITS” of believing in the SALVATION work of JESUS CHRIST which king David the Psalmist spoke about in the subsequent verses of his song of praise. So far we have looked at the “BENEFITS” from verse 3 to 5, so let us continue from there.
  129.
  130. VERSE 6 says: “The LORD executes RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUSTICE for all who are OPPRESSED.”
  131.
  132. The Word of God is actually deep, and king David spoke about spiritual things which the natural senses cannot understand because they are very deep. When the Scripture passage above talks about those who are “OPPRESSED” we must know that Satan is the “OPPRESSOR” who “OPPRESSED” the “soul” of human beings by leading them into SIN and beaten them with all kinds of evil schemes.
  133.
  134. That’s why Isaiah prophesied that when JESUS comes to this earth, He will break “the yoke” of our “burden” and the “staff” of our shoulder, and “the rod” of our “OPPRESSOR as in the day of Midian” (Isaiah 9:4). When it says in Isaiah that JESUS will break “the rod” of our “OPPRESSOR,” it means that JESUS will deliver us from the hand of the “OPPRESSOR” called Satan who “OPPRESSED” our “soul.”
  135.
  136. The LORD fulfilled this prophecy when He descended on this planet to be born as a child, took away all our SINS upon Himself by the POWER of His water baptism, dying on the Cross for His blood to gush out, and resurrecting from the death. This is how JESUS broke “the rod” of our “OPPRESSOR” (Satan).
  137.
  138. The Apostle Paul explains it in the following words: “Having disarm all principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, TRIUMPHING over them in it” (Colossians 2:15). This is how our LORD Almighty “broke the rod” of our “OPPRESSOR” the Devil.
  139.
  140. Therefore when David says “The LORD executes RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUSTICE for all who are OPPRESSED,” we must understand that it is JESUS who is the “executor” of this “RIGHTEOUSNESS.” The word “execute” here means “to cause something to happen or to accomplish it.” However we couldn't “execute” any RIGHTEOUSNESS by ourselves.
  141.
  142. All of us have failed to obey the written code of the LAW, and that’s why JESUS came into the scene. In fact David himself confessed, “If You, LORD, should mare iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? (Psalm 130:3). Therefore if David says “The LORD executes RIGHTEOUSNESS,” then we must know that the “execution” took place when JESUS told John the Baptist, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS” (Matthew 3:15).
  143.
  144. The moment JESUS told John the Baptist “for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS,” He was “executing” God’s RIGHTEOUSNESS “for all who are OPPRESSED” by the Devil as a result of their SINS. This is among the “BENEFITS” which made David to sing a hymn of praise “BLESS the LORD O, my soul.” This is because his “soul” was delivered from the hand of the “OPPRESSOR” through the “executor” of “RIGHTEOUSNESS” (JESUS CHRIST).
  145.
  146. Also when David says, “The LORD executes JUSTICE for all who are OPPRESSED,” the word “JUSTICE” here means that because JESUS bore our SINS in His own body on the tree, so that we, having died to SINS, might live for RIGHTEOUSNESS (1 Peter 2:24), Satan and his demons and the principalities and powers and human beings cannot bring any “CHARGE” against “God’s ELECT.”
  147.
  148. Therefore when the Apostle Paul says that, “Who shall bring a CHARGE against God’s ELECT?” (Romans 8:33), then we must know that it is as a result of God’s “JUSTICE.” That’s why the Apostle Paul added in the same verse saying “It is God who JUSTIFIES.” Isaiah also spoke about the “JUSTICE” of JESUS CHRIST when he said, “For the LORD is a God of JUSTICE; Blessed are all those who wait for Him” (Isaiah 30:18).
  149.
  150. So this is how the LORD executed “RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUSTICE for” the “souls” of the descendants of Adam who were “OPPRESSED” by the “ACCUSER of the brethren” (Revelation 12:10).
  151.
  152. It is only through JESUS that we can sincerely say, “BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS.”
  153.
  154. Our study continues...........
  155.
  156. Let us exalt the “executor of RIGHTEOUSNESS” (JESUS CHRIST).
  157.

  162.
  163. BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL (Part 5)
  164.
  165. Our reading of the “Word” is still in the Psalms of David where he said:
  166.
  167. “BLESS the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, BLESS His holy name! BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS” (Psalm 103:1-2).
  168.
  169. In the previous day we studied in detailed the VERSE 6 of this same chapter of Psalms, and we came to the understanding and the conclusion that JESUS CHRIST is the one Who executed “RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUSTICE for all who were OPPRESSED” by Satan the Devil. So let us look at the next verse.
  170.
  171. VERSE 7 says: “He made known His WAYS to Moses, His ACTS to the children of Israel.”
  172.
  173. What king David is saying here in his hymn of praise is very short and precise, but it contains a whole lot of things which we cannot discuss all of them in detail. Nevertheless we will look at some of them because God’s “WAYS” and “ACTS” which He “made known” to Moses and the children of Israel speak about our SALVATION by the “water,” the “blood” and the “Spirit” of CHRIST.
  174.
  175. Therefore when king David says that God “made known His WAYS to Moses,” then we must know that it all started when God revealed Himself to Moses in the burning bush. When God called Moses from the midst of the bush and He told him, “Do not draw NEAR this place. Take your sandals OFF your FEET, for the place where you stand is HOLY GROUND” (Exodus 3:5), that was when God begun to make “known His WAYS to Moses.”
  176.
  177. If God says to Moses “Do no draw NEAR this place” it means that SINNERS which includes Moses, cannot come near the “dwelling place” of the Most High God unless their SINS are “taking OFF” by the water and blood of CHRIST. Also when God told Moses, “Take your sandals OFF your FEET,” He was telling Moses and all human beings that in all our WALKS of life we have committed SINS.
  178.
  179. If David therefore says that God “made known His WAYS to Moses,” it is all because “All we like sheep have gone ASTRAY; We have everyone TURNED to his own WAY” (Isaiah 53:6). That’s why God said in the same book of Isaiah, “Their FEET run into evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood; Their THOUGHTS are THOUGHTS of iniquity; Wasting and destruction are in their PATHS” (Isaiah 59:7).
  180.
  181. This is the NATURE of human beings and Moses was not exception to this rule. In fact the Scripture clearly tells us that Moses committed “murderer,” and when Pharaoh heard about the matter and he also wanted to kill him to avenge, Moses “fled” (run away) to the land of Midian (Exodus 2:11-15).
  182.
  183. Therefore if David says that God “made known His WAYS to Moses,” then we must know that God made Moses to know that he is a SINNER whose “soul” must be REDEEMED from the “filth” of SIN. That’s why He told Moses, “Do not draw NEAR this place, for the place where you stand is HOLY GROUND.”
  184.
  185. For this reason, God begun to make “known His WAYS to Moses” for the REDEMPTION of mankind by giving Him the “LAW” and the SACRIFICIAL SYSTEM of “atonement” which were “fulfilled” by JESUS CHRIST who came to make our SINS disappear by His “water” of purification and His “blood” of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel (Hebrews 12:24).
  186.
  187. Brothers and Sisters, why did God tell Moses, “for the place where you stand is HOLY GROUND,” but Moses himself was NOT “HOLY?” The “GROUND” did not obey the 10 Commandments or the 613 Articles of the LAW to become “HOLY,” but the “GROUND” was “HOLY” because God’s presence was there. Wherever God goes or wherever He stays, that “place” turns into “HOLINESS.”
  188.
  189. Therefore you cannot become “HOLY” by obeying the Law of Moses, but the moment God comes to dwell in you through your FAITH in the water, blood and the resurrection of JESUS CHRIST, then God will come and dwell in your HEART through the “Holy Spirit.” When this happens, you will also become “HOLY” just like how the “GROUND” where Moses was standing became “HOLY” as a result of God’s presence.
  190.
  191. That’s why the Apostle Paul also says that, “Just as He chose us IN Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be HOLY and without BLAME before Him in love” (Ephesians 1:4). When God dwells in you by the third Person of the TRINITY (The Holy Spirit), you also become “HOLY” by necessity in order to enter the Kingdom of God.
  192.
  193. Now God want us to understand another “mystery” concerning His “WAYS” which He “made known to Moses.” I told you earlier that when God told Moses, “Take your sandals OFF your FEET,” He was telling Moses including all human beings, that in all our WALKS of life we have committed SINS and therefore we cannot come NEAR Him.
  194.
  195. With this knowledge, I want us to come to the New Testament and observe another “mystery” related to this. The Bible tells us that before the Feast of the Passover, JESUS knowing that He will soon depart from this world, wanted His disciples and all of us to know His eternal “LOVE” of the “water and the Spirit” that has washed aways all our SINS forever.
  196.
  197. Therefore the Scripture says that JESUS “Poured WATER into a basin, and began to WASH the disciples FEET, and to WIPE them with the TOWEL with which He was girded” (John 13:5). Brethren, here lies the “mystery” of the “water and the blood” of CHRIST which also washed Moses “FEET” before He could enter the Kingdom of God. JESUS took away all the SINS of the world through His water baptism from John the Baptist, and He “WIPE them” CLEAN “with the TOWEL” of His blood on the Cross.
  198.
  199. Brothers and Sisters, if God told Moses to remove his sandals “OFF” from His “FEET” and the Scripture also says that JESUS put “WATER” into a basin and He begun to “WASH” the disciples “FEET,” then we must give PRAISE to God for the “mystery” of the SALVATION of JESUS CHRIST. That’s why the Apostle Peter said that the “BAPTISM” of CHRIST is an “antitype” which now “SAVES us” (1 Peter 3:21).
  200.
  201. This is because initially when JESUS wanted to “WASH” Peter’s “FEET” he was being reluctant. But JESUS told him, “If I do not WASH you, you have NO part with Me” (John 13:8). But thanks to God that later the Apostle Peter understood the “mystery” of the water baptism of JESUS CHRIST which fulfilled “all RIGHTEOUSNESS (Matthew 3:15).
  202.
  203. We must therefore know that king David read all the Pentateuch (the five Books of Moses) and he understood how God “Made known His WAYS to Moses, His ACTS to the children of Israel” through the LAW, the sacrificial system, and the “mysterious” events surrounding their journey which speaks about the SALVATION of human beings. David had all these things in mind and that’s why he was singing “BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS” (Psalm 103:1-2).
  204.
  205. Brethren, JESUS CHRIST is just too much for us! Lets PRAISE him forever!

  212. BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL (Part 6)
  213.
  214. Our Scripture reading is in Psalms once again where it is written:
  215.
  216. “BLESS the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, BLESS His holy name! BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS” (Psalm 103:1-2).
  217.
  218. We thank God for giving us another day and to feed our “souls” with the heavenly “manna.” David sang this song of PRAISE for what the LORD has done for us who were not His people (SINNERS), but have now become “Sons of the Living God” (Hosea 1:10). What a BLESSING!
  219.
  220. So let us continue from where we left regarding this POWERFUL theme and the song of PRAISE.
  221.
  222. VERSE 8 says: “The LORD is MERCIFUL and GRACIOUS, slow to anger and abounding in MERCY.”
  223.
  224. The above attributes of God which David our predecessor of the FAITH is singing about works together with God “LOVE,” His “COMPASSION” and “GOODNESS.” All these propelled our Lord JESUS CHRIST to come to this earth in order to SAVE our “soul” from the pit of “hell.” We must therefore know that when God is acting through any of these attributes of His NATURE, the rest are also involved as a complete package to SAVE mankind.
  225.
  226. For example when the Scripture says that “For God so LOVE the world” (John 3:16), we must know that His mercy, kindness, compassion and goodness are all inclusive. All these attributes of God worked together simultaneously to make us “RIGHTEOUS” so that nobody should go to the place of “torment” which has been prepared for Satan and his demonic angels.
  227.
  228. My beloved Brothers and Sisters, when our Scripture reading says that “The LORD is MERCIFUL and GRACIOUS, slow to anger and abounding in MERCY,” it means that He did everything in His POWER of “With God nothing will be IMPOSSIBLE” (Luke 1:37) to deliver every single “soul” from Satan and from “hell-fire.” Therefore any Christian or person who goes to “hell” must blame himself for NOT believing in God’s “MERCY” and “GRACE” which was manifested by the Virgin birth of JESUS, His water baptism, death, and resurrection
  229.
  230. The Apostle Paul summarized all these attributes of God including the ones which king David spoke about in his epistle when he said, “But when the KINDNESS and the LOVE of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by WORKS of righteousness which we have done, but according to His MERCY He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured on us abundantly through JESUS CHRIST our Savior” (Titus 3:4-6).
  231.
  232. Here the Apostle Paul said that “but according to His MERCY He saved us.” And it is the same thing which David was talking about. When you relax, ponder, and meditate on this verse well, you will see that NOBODY was left behind the SALVATION of God to “perish” in hell. You will also realize that even king David in the Old Testament who sang “The LORD is MERCIFUL and GRACIOUS, slow to anger and abounding in MERCY” had a proper knowledge of FAITH in the salvation of JESUS CHRIST more than many Christians of today.
  233.
  234. When it says “But when the KINDNESS and the LOVE of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by WORKS of righteousness which we have done,” it means that God has qualified every “man” irrespective of his evilness to enter His “Kingdom” through our Lord and “Saviour” JESUS CHRIST who “finished the transgression” and made “An END of SINS” (Daniel 9:24).
  235.
  236. But because many Christians do not understand when David says, “The LORD is MERCIFUL and GRACIOUS, slow to anger and abounding in MERCY,” they condemn themselves to be SINNERS who must pray every day for the “Prayers of Repentance” in the morning, afternoon and evening.
  237.
  238. If a Christian SINNER does not believe in God’s “MERCY” and “GRACE” and he says “BLESSED the LORD, O my soul,” then the Apostle Paul says that such people are the ones “understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm” (1 Timothy 1:7). This is the by-product (consequence) of FALSE faith.
  239.
  240. If a SINNER says “BLESSED the LORD, O my soul,” then he has got nothing to say, but because he just read in the Bible that king David sang “BLESSED the LORD O my soul,” he also want to say likewise for saying sake. This is a religion whose founder is “the Old Serpent.” This kind of religion is what makes people worship God in HYPOCRISY.
  241.
  242. But when you believe in God’s “MERCY” and “GRACE” which David sang in his songs of praise, you become a “RIGHTEOUS” person through the PURIFICATION POWER of the “water” and the “blood” of CHRIST at once. When this happens, it is then that you can undoubtedly say without pretence, “BLESSED the LORD, O my soul.”’
  243.
  244. Our study continues..............
  245.
  246. Let us PRAISE God for His “MERCY” and “GRACE” as David did.

  253. BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL (Part 7)
  254.
  255. Brothers and Sisters, we are still on our studies from our Scripture reading in Psalms which says:
  256.
  257. “BLESS the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, BLESS His holy name! BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS” (Psalm 103:1-2).
  258.
  259. And I hope and I believe that none of us is bored or tired after reading this passage of Scripture over and over again. To be bored of this Word of Scripture is similar to being bored of the NAME of the Lord JESUS which is SALVATION. We can never be tired of hearing the name of the LORD repeatedly, and we can never be tired of hearing what He did to SAVE our “soul” from “hell.”
  260.
  261. Those who became bored and tired of His NAME of SALVATION are the ones to whom JESUS declared, “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your FIRST LOVE” (Revelation 2:4). The Apostle Paul also spoke about such people when he said, “Having condemnation because they have cast off their FIRST FAITH” (1 Timothy 5:12). Therefore the FAITH of those who are tired of hearing the SALVATION message of CHRIST will suffer “shipwreck” (1 Timothy 1:19).
  262.
  263. For this reason, the same king David who sang “BLESS the LORD, O my soul” tells us that, “If the FOUNDATIONS are destroyed, what can the RIGHTEOUS do?” (Psalm 11:3). We will die spiritually if the FOUNDATIONS of our FAITH (the water, blood, and the Spirit) were “destroyed.” Therefore we built upon it “by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17) which are the mysteries revealed in both the Old and the New Testaments.
  264.
  265. So this is the prologue of instruction which God is giving to us from the Scriptures before we begin our studies. So let us now continue from where we left the previous day in Psalms.
  266.
  267. VERSE 9-10 says: “He will NOT always STRIVE with us, nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our SINS, nor PUNISHED us according to our INIQUITIES.”
  268.
  269. Here when David says God “God will NOT always STRIVE with us,” we must remember that God spoke about this long ago after He destroyed all living creatures and man for their SINS with the “flood.” Therefore after the “flood” God said, “My Spirit shall not STRIVE with man forever, for he is indeed FLESH; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years” (Genesis 6:3).
  270.
  271. Brothers and Sisters, when God says “My Spirit shall not STRIVE with man forever, for he is indeed FLESH,” we must understand the MIND of God because what He is saying here is very deep. Many people read this passage but their understanding is “unfruitful.” And even though David explains it in our Scripture reading, they still don’t get it because the “mystery” has been “hidden” from them, but for those of us who are born of His water and the Spirit, JESUS says, “Because it has been GIVEN to you to know the MYSTERIES of the Kingdom of Heaven” (Mathew 13:11).
  272.
  273. When the Lord God Almighty says that “My Spirit shall not STRIVE with man forever, for he is indeed FLESH,” it means that He is no more going to EXPECT human beings to live according to His RIGHTEOUS requirements of the LAW which He gave to man right from the beginning of Creation when He created Adam and Eve. And our “LOVING” God actually explains the reason for His decision by saying, “for he is indeed FLESH.”
  274.
  275. What does it mean when God says that man is “indeed FLESH?” It means everybody became SINFUL after our “HOLY” NATURE was altered by the eating of the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil” (Genesis 2:17), and therefore human beings will always FAIL to live up to the expectation.
  276.
  277. That’s why after David said in our Scripture reading that God “will NOT always STRIVE with us,” he added by saying that “He has not dealt with us according to our SINS, nor PUNISHED us according to our INIQUITIES.” This is what it means when God says, “My Spirit shall not STRIVE with man forever, for he is indeed FLESH.”
  278.
  279. We must therefore know that the reason why God did not “dealt with us according to our SINS” and the reason why He did not “PUNISHED us according to our INIQUITIES” is because when JESUS was “baptized,” He bore all our SINS upon Himself to fulfil “all RIGHTEOUSNESS.” He was then “PUNISHED” for us by being beaten, scourged, and chastised before shedding His “blood” on the Cross and dying for us.
  280.
  281. That’s why Isaiah said that, “Surely He has born our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, SMITTEN by God, and AFFLICTED. But He was WOUNDED for our transgressions, He was BRUISED for our iniquities; The CHASTISEMENT for our peace was upon Him. And by His STRIPES we are HEALED” (Isaiah 53:4-5). This is the reason why God did not dealt with us according to our SINS or PUNISHED us according to our iniquities.
  282.
  283. Also when God says, “My Spirit shall not STRIVE with man forever, for he is indeed FLESH,” He explained this to us more clearly in Isaiah when He said, “For I will not CONTEND forever, nor will I always be angry; For the spirit would FAIL before Me, and the souls which I have made” (Isaiah 57:16). Here God is telling us that all human beings are FAILURES both physically and spiritually. In order words, no one could live up to His expectation.
  284.
  285. Therefore when you read the next verse in the same chapter of Isaiah, God spoke about the attitude of human being and He said, “For the iniquity of covetousness I was angry and struck him; I hid and was angry, and he went on backsliding in the way of his HEART. I have seen his ways, and will HEAL him; I will also lead him, and RESTORE comforts to him and to his mourners” (Isaiah 57:17-18). This HEALING POWER of God for the disease of SIN came from the water and the blood of CHRIST.
  286.
  287. King David knew all these things, and he understood the MIND of God, and he prophesied about the suffering MESSIAH. That’s why he was singing, “He has not dealt with us according to our SINS, nor PUNISHED us according to our INIQUITIES.” And the Lord God Almighty actually accomplished and fulfilled all these things through JESUS CHRIST who did it with His “water and blood” (1 John 5:6)
  288.
  289. It is therefore the knowledge, understanding, and FAITH which David had in God’s plan of SALVATION in JESUS CHRIST which made him to sing “BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget not ALL His BENEFITS.”
