I know, It's nice to be out of the trenches, even for just a night. <Sigh> There's also so many new recruits with us now, I feel like I don't know anyone. And just when I start to get to know them...well you know. You're the only person I can call a friend anymore.

I miss Rodriguez. It seems so long since he's been gone. The academy feels like it was a lifetime ago, too. I think we are some of the only members of our class left. I'd attribute it to our skills but I think we are just lucky.

Want to know something? I'm scared about tomorrow. Terrified. I have a bad feeling too, that command isn't telling us everything. Today's fight seemed way too easy.

<Sigh> It gets tiring being "Lt. Cheerful" all the time when I'm just as afraid as the recruits coming fresh from jump school. It's nice for someone to know what I'm really feeling. I'm always comfortable when you are around and you always help me keep a clear head in the field.

<Pause, shy, hesitant voice on next lines.>

Do...do you think we could hold each other? I know it's kinda forward but it's been a long time since I've been held, and it seems you need it too.
