- I'd like to start of by saying I love the service that Storify provides. However, this exchange with a Storify representative left me a little concerned about their understanding of anonymity online.
- Context for my email to them:
- If you try to use Storify over tor or a VPN, you will likely have problems building stories from twitter. I tried to explain to them I was having issues, and they let me know that the problem is with twitter. This makes sense. Twitter's connectivity via tor has become pretty bad lately over tor.
- Here's the response I got:

- Hi AnonyOps,
- As an Anon, you're probably using TOR or using several VPNs. The Twitter search happens in the front-end. Hence, it's your connection with the Twitter API that is timing out.
- You should probably disable the VPN ( we do not log IP addresses ) and try again.
- Let me know how that goes for you.
- Fred

- ಠ_ಠ seriously Storify? I should sleep better knowing you don't log IP addresses? Disable Tor? Really?
- *fail*
