  1. I used to rule the world,
  2. Seas would rise when I gave the word.
  3. Now in these last games I've hid away,
  4. Sweep the streets I used to own.
  5.
  6. I used to roll the dice,
  7. Feel the fear in my enemy’s eyes.
  8. Listened as the crowd would sing,
  9. Now the old king is dead, long live the king.
  10. One minute I held the key,
  11. Next the walls were closed on me.
  12. And I discovered that my castles stand,
  13. Upon pillars of salt, (and) pillars of sand.
  14.
  15. I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing;
  16. Roman cavalry choirs are singing.
  17. Be my mirror, my sword and shield,
  18. My missionaries in a foreign field.
  19. For some reason I can’t explain,
  20. Once you’d gone there was never,
  21. Seems this will be my end,
  22. That was when I ruled the thread.
  23.
  24. It was a wicked and wild wind,
  25. Blew down the doors to let me in.
  26. Shattered windows and the sound of drums,
  27. People couldn’t believe what I’d become.
  28. Revolutionaries wait,
  29. For my head on a silver plate.
  30. Just a puppet on a lonely string,
  31. Oh, who would ever want to be king?
  32.
  33. I Feel the end of the game a-nearing;
  34. Meanwhile, everyone's been clearing.
  35. But yet somehow, it wasn't Neil,
  36. That did surprise me when his role revealed.
  37. If you don't throw the whole damn game,
  38. My first victory may call my name.
  39. Never a master plan,
  40. That was when I ruled the land.
  41.
  42. Feel the end of the game a-nearing;
  43. Honestly, I feel a bit weary.
  44. Don't gloss over, this very spiel,
  45. And don't be surprised when my role reveals.
  46. If you don't throw the whole damn game,
  47. My first victory may call my name.
  48. Seems that you want me gone,
