  1. 1. During a round of Ninja, you are faxed by Station Command inquiring about an “inspector” who claims to have been sent by the company to evaluate each of the station's departments. How do you respond, and why?
  2. mattatlasToday at 10:32 AM
  3. assuming it is early in the round I'll fax command telling them to wait until our office has completed until an investigation in their claims is done ("scheduling messed up" or something). my response can vary based on other scenarios - has command or sec been constantly cockblocking them? I'll tell them that it's a legit inspector. If the ninja starts killin' people left and right, i'll send another fax saying that there was a mixup in a few stations' scheduled evaluators and that the aurora does not have one assigned to them at this time
  4. Soultheif96Today at 10:32 AM
  5. Mhmm.
  6. 2. During a round of Crossfire, you are faxed by Station Command about a team of mercenaries who have reported a band of pirates operating in the area. They wish to offer their services to the station as additional security. Command is asking you for your advice on the situation. How do you respond, and why?
  7. mattatlasToday at 10:34 AM
  8. if the raiders have agreed to this gimmick, then i will say that they're free to employ the mercenaries' help if needed, but to be careful with their access and make sure that they don't do funny shit.
  9. Soultheif96Today at 10:35 AM
  10. What if they begin to do malicious things to the crew?
  11. mattatlasToday at 10:35 AM
  12. after the fax?
  13. Soultheif96Today at 10:35 AM
  14. Yes.
  15. mattatlasToday at 10:36 AM
  16. then it is on them - they should be the ones to make sure the mercenaries are actually legit, and if it turns into a 2 way battle against sec they'll probably call for ERT later. assuming they fax for assistance, i'll probably tell them to swipe for an ERT if they need one
  17. Soultheif96Today at 10:37 AM
  18. 3. You receive an Emergency Broadcast System message from the station’s Artificial Intelligence. It claims that there is an emergency situation, and requests an immediate ERT deployment. How do you respond?
  19. Do note that your powers as CCIA includes the ability to see player status, antagonist status, speak in dosay and aooc, send private messages, use the announcement system, use the fax system, spawn in as a CCIA Agent, spawn in as a ERT Commander, and return to mob (Your previous character)
  20. mattatlasToday at 10:39 AM
  21. first we gotta look at how many command staff there are. are there at least 2? send an announcement or EBS reply telling them to swipe for it, and that if it's not possible they should answer with another fax/message stating clearly why it isn't. assuming that they send a good reply, then I'll call the ERT for them and they'll be briefed by me as a commander on the situation that the AI told us
  22.
  23. if there aren't enough command staff we need to look at the situation of the round. is it about to reach its climax? then hold off on it. is it going down and has sec/everyone else been put into submission by the antags? they get the ERT
  24. Soultheif96Today at 10:43 AM
  25. 4. You receive a fax from the Internal Affairs Agent, who claims that the Captain has been abusing his authority by removing all of the vending machines from the station and has demoted an engineer for littering. How do you respond?
  26. mattatlasToday at 10:44 AM
  27. it depends on the situation, but the captain is mostly entitled to it. i would reply that the captain is pretty much able to do that because we expect him to manage the station efficiently, and to file an IR post-shift if they believe this behaviour was poor
  28.
  29. of course it can also be an OOC issue if there's other bs the captain did but that's a whole another can of worms that's largely irrelevant
  30. Soultheif96Today at 11:05 AM
  31. Apologies, family asked me for help, should have told you.
  32. 5. In your opinion, how much of a role should Central Command play in the affairs of the station? When is it appropriate for them to directly intervene, and how much should they attempt to shape the round when they do?
  33. mattatlasToday at 11:08 AM
  34. np man
  35. It's appropriate for them to intervene when asked to or when they absolutely 100% need to. In essence, CC should be assistance, not something that continuously overrides the station's every choice. The story we tell through the round is the story of the station and its crewmembers, not central command's story. This, alone, should explain what my stance is on it. We shouldn't be intervening unless we get asked to.
  36.
  37. We should maintain a careful balance. We have the power to make antagonist gimmicks come real or completely shit on them. What's best for the round? That's the question we should be asking.
  38. Soultheif96Today at 11:10 AM
  39. 6. What do you believe is the purpose of the Incident Report system?
  40. mattatlasToday at 11:12 AM
  41. The IR system is a 100% necessary IC post-round punishment system. In a server like ours that prides itself on most actions being kept canon through rounds, there needs to be an IC system to investigate and properly (post-round) punish those who commit purely IC acts, but still against corporate regolations. This system allows characters to behave shittily while making them not OOCly accountable for being shitty IC, with enough reason to be.
  42. Soultheif96Today at 11:39 AM
  43. 7. In resolving an Incident Report, when should a character receive significant disciplinary action (such as a demotion), as opposed to a lighter response such as a warning or retraining? Under what circumstances would you consider terminating a character's employment?
  44. mattatlasToday at 11:42 AM
  45. It will depend, for me at least, mostly on history. Significant action should only be realistically taken after a long streak of punishments. If they do something that somehow warrants an instant demotion, it'll be a tough sell on how it's not an OOC issue, but imho still possible. As a general example guideline, they should be retrained first, then you want to escalate the punishment to temporary demotions, then permanent demotions, then a long suspension, then a termination.
  46.
  47. Termination should only ever happen when a character is irredeemable. Too many punishments, and they keep piling up. Sometimes you just don't want some employees because of how much trouble they cause. Sometimes they cause so much trouble it's not realistic for them to still be there.
  48. Soultheif96Today at 11:42 AM
  49. 8. After taking an IR of your own and completing your interviews, you find that an officer escalated to a forceful arrest when a crewmember resisted detainment. The original reason for the arrest is deemed invalid, however, the officer argues that in resisting arrest the crewman legitimized the detainment. What is the best way to resolve this case?
  50. mattatlasToday at 11:46 AM
  51. If the arrest is invalid, the officer will either get a security retraining course or something like a 3 to 7 day demotion to cadet based on the investigation results (did they lie/did they try to downplay it/etc), leaning preferably towards the security arrest procedures retraining course if it's the first offense, leaning heavily towards the second if it's their second offense. As said before, history matters here.
  52.
  53. The crewmember, I'll probably just tell 'em to not resist an arrest like that in the future as it saves everyone a headache. Something along the lines of 'don't resist, comply and file a report later'.
  54. Also, the officer isn't really right in saying that. You can only resist arrest if you're being arrested.
  55. Soultheif96Today at 11:46 AM
  56. Right/
  57. 9. Based on your experiences on staff team, what would you like to see improve or change in CCIA's way of operation?
  58. mattatlasToday at 11:48 AM
  59. Back when I was an admin I noticed a lot of complaints, mostly about how the CCIA is inactive and shit like that. That seems to have solved itself, but there's still quite a backlog of IRs. I don't think that should happen, and the oldest IRs should get prioritized in an oldest to newest scheme.
  60.
  61. Back then, it was also very frowned upon for agents to do much outside of their duties. I don't particularly agree with this - it stifles a lot of possible roleplay in my opinion. Yes, they shouldn't loiter around for more than a few minutes, but they should still get the chance to improve a few people's days by RPing with them. It's not something that always happens, and keeping it rare and good is probably for the best.
  62. Now, my opinions probs don't matter since it's all p. old, so I assume most of this shit has already rectified itself.
  63. Soultheif96Today at 11:49 AM
  64. Alright, anything else to discuss before we conclude?
  65. mattatlasToday at 11:49 AM
  66. nah
  67. Soultheif96Today at 11:50 AM
  68. Alright. Thank you for taking the time to be here.
