- Ch5B: Fort Oko
- After receiving aid from Gohn's troops, Azai returns the favor in the war for Dutia, given she needs their war to end in order to cross the ocean. She is also aware that she needs more troops to have a better chance at combating Nobunaga. The group agrees to meet with Motoharu, but finds that the meeting place is on the outskirts of Fort Oko, making his demands fairly clear as soon as they arrive. Motoharu explains that Gohn recently attacked another of Vionne’s forts, Tosa, forcing Vionne to retreat to fort Oko and eventually back to the Shikoku Islands. Motoharu wants to cut them off and make those fighting in the Shikoku Islands have an easier chance at victory by taking fort Oko and stopping any reinforcements. Azai agrees with this plan as she sees it as efficient, but has concerns about Motoharu, as she sees him as a bit overzealous. Norishige was stationed at Fort Oko and was on duty to ensure those who were escaping by boat were able to. Her sister and Morichika both managed to retreat, having been at Fort Tosa when it was attacked. Fort Oko falls and Norishige is killed by Azai’s forces. The group secures a boat to continue their siege.
- Ch6B: Shikoku Islands, Fort Mihara
- Azai leads her army through the sea with Motoharu, defeating small Vionne strike forces as they make their way east. Eventually they arrive in the Shikoku Islands, and prepare to move to take Fort Mihara to push straight to Fushimi castle. However, during the battle, they notice soldiers of Gohn fleeing towards them, and mentioning their forces who went north to attack Fort Otsuki are currently trapped there. Motoharu refuses to leave his soldiers behind, and implores Azai to move quickly to get those at Fort Otsuki out. Azai is in agreement, and has no issues with joining in. Morichika, a retired sailor who rejoined Vionne’s army, fights fiercely against Gohn’s forces to protect the Otsuki Graveyard, where many of his friends were buried, but he eventually falls. Takeyori is in command of Fort Mihara, and is upset that Morichika went out on his own, but upon hearing that Norishige died, he understands why. Eventually, Takeyori is overrun and dies at Fort Mihara. Motoharu meets with Ekei, Motonari’s younger sister, who explains more in depth the situation north. The group quickly rushes to their aid.
- Ch7B: Shikoku Islands, Otsuki Graveyard, Fort Otsuki
- Azai’s group arrives a bit south of the fortress and finds some of the soldiers camped out while Vionne’s forces swarm the area. Confused by this, Motoharu asks how they managed to escape. They reveal that Sadatoshi risked her life distracting the soldiers allowing for them to escape. Currently, she’s still deep in enemy territory with Takamoto, who was ambushed and is trapped still. Motoharu asks Azai if her group can try and stall Vionne’s army until he can return with reinforcements to back them up as well as extract all of their allies. She agrees, and makes her way to the fort where she finds more soldiers and is informed that Sadatoshi left to try and rescue Takamoto. Tadasumi and Chikayasu are in charge of the forces in the graveyard, Tadasumi managed to retrieve her sister’s body and wishes to bury her at the site, but the battle makes such an action impossible. Chikayasu leads the assault, but is killed, and Tadasumi may or may not follow, depending on Azai’s actions. If Tadasumi is left alive, Azai allows her to bury both her sister and Chikayasu before taking her as prisoner. If she dies, Azai takes it upon herself, realizing why Vionne’s forces were so adamant about this location, to bury the three. Sadatoshi is never found, despite the group’s efforts. Motoharu’s group returns and manages to get the rest of their forces out, and the group heads to Fushumi castle to end the war between the clans.
- Ch8B: Fushumi Castle
- Following the events at Fort Otsuki, Vionne’s amy moral took a substantial nosedive, given the loss of an important landmark to their history, many battles following that one were easy enough victories. Because of this, Lady Azai makes her way towards the Tonomoto mountain range on the outskirts of Fushumi plains, where Castle Fushumi is located fairly unimpeded. She thinks the best course of action at this point is to put Vionne out of their misery and defeat Motochika once and for all, ending the war. However, Motochika and his brother Nobuchika are not done fighting yet, and neither are their closest allies who have gathered at Fushumi for their final stand. Nobuchika instructs Chikamasa to evacuate all citizens from the villages in Fushumi plains and have them move east towards the Tonomoto mountain range and then has her lure Azai’s forces west towards the Inland Delta. His plan is to flood the valley, overflowing the water in the delta, and trapping Azai’s forces to defeat them and strike a decisive strike at Gohn to try and turn the tides. Motoharu and Ekei scout the area before Azai begins her assault and notices abandoned houses and settlements, eluding to what is to come. Without knowing the full picture though, they march west. Motochika uses the power of the Hama Yumi and causes rain to fall, further increasing the impact of flooding the delta. He was also notified of a flight force heading from Gohn, so the rain will also delay them, making this final push more impactful. As Azai’s forces grow nearer, they realize Nobuchika’s group’s positioning south of them, and realize too late of their blunder. The delta is flooded, and Vionne makes their final stand. Nobuchika and Chikamasa surrender once they are defeated in combat, knowing the war is over and there is nothing left they can do, but Motochika refuses, and fights until his death. With Fushumi Castle under Azai’s control, the war in Dutia between Vionne and Gohn is over.
