  64. The Team

  66.
  67. Whimsicott
  68.
  69. The Pokemon I decided to build around, and using an offensive set at that. You maybe looking at its stats and thinking they're all really bad bar speed, especially the offensive stats, and then look at move pool and typing and think its definitely a support Pokemon, and for the most part you'd be right, with access to prankster, good defensive typing and great speed, its certainly a great support Pokemon in lower tiers, however Whimsicott has access to something truly unique: Prankster Nature Power. This essentially gives Whimsicott a priority Tri Attack. You're not very impressed I imagine at this point, but hear me out, Natures Power also changes move depending on terrain. Ah, now I have your attention. Whimsicott has access to potentially Priority Thunderbolt, Moonblast and Energy Ball (not Psychic as the terrain blocks it) depending on its terrain, essentially having 3 moves in 1. Thunderbolt becomes a nice pseudo stab allowing in to beat M.Pinsir and revenge slightly chipped Autotomise Celesteela as well as many other weakened or chipped threats. Moonblast gains a nice stab boost, however no boost from terrain. Moonblast can revenge kill Pokemon like Scarf Garchomp, M.Lopunny and boosted Zygarde mainly. Lastly, the most powerful of the options, hitting harder than Specs Ash Greninja Water Shuriken due to the stab and terrain boost, Energy Ball. This generally dents anything thats not a resist. I decided to build around Thunderbolt and Energy Ball as they were the easiest to build around. I used Moonblast as second stab, as well as its ability to hit Dark types super effectively, which are immune to prankster. Hp Fire is used to catch Steel types on the switch, which essentially wall Whimsicott. Lastly I chose Tailwind over U-Turn and other support moves as it gives Tapu Bulu and M.Mawile scary speed, allowing them to clean late game as well as potentially any other team member.
  70.
  71. 252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Nature Power vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Pinsir-Mega in Electric Terrain: 296-351 (109.2 - 129.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  72.
  73. 252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Nature Power vs. 84 HP / 0 SpD Celesteela in Electric Terrain: 270-320 (75.8 - 89.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
  74.
  75. 252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Nature Power vs. 252 HP / 64 SpD Toxapex in Electric Terrain: 190-226 (62.5 - 74.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
  76.
  77. 252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Nature Power vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Charizard-Mega-Y in Electric Terrain: 239-283 (80.4 - 95.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
  78.
  79. 252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Nature Power vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Alakazam-Mega in Grassy Terrain: 195-230 (77.6 - 91.6%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
  80.
  81. 252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Nature Power vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp in Grassy Terrain: 231-274 (64.5 - 76.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
  82.
  83. 252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja-Ash Water Shuriken (20 BP) (3 hits) vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp: 192-228 (53.6 - 63.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
  84.
  85.
  86. Tapu Bulu
  87.
  88. Tapu Bulu provides the all important terrain for Whimsicott to abuse as well as support the team in passive recovery and the weakening of common Ground moves. I decided to use SD; Rockium-Z Tapu Bulu to help break stall, Superpower to break down bulky Steel types and Horn Leech acting as a powerful stab due to terrain boost and massively increasing longevity. Rockium-Z helps Tapu Bulu break past bulky grass types too, such as M.Venusaur and Tangrowth as well as Steels such as Skarmory , M.Scizor and Celesteela for the rest of the Pokemon on the team. Tapu Bulu can also abuse the Tailwind Support, giving it speed to outpace base 101 Scarfers, but not Scarf Garchomp and faster. Tapu Bulu also works as the teams primary Electric switch in, changing the Terrain from under Tapu Koko, and threatening Zapdos with the Continental Crush, though Heat Wave is something to be feared, doing 60-70%.
  89.
  90.
  91. Tapu Koko
  92.
  93. The Thunderbolt for Whimsicott comes from the Electric Terrain Tapu Koko provides. The Terrain also provides nice support vs sleep moves as well as a nice boost to Electric moves for the team. I decided to hop on the recent wave and use physical Scarf Tapu Koko, as its ability to hit Calm Mind and AV Magearna hard is really appreciated, and revenge kill set up sweepers such as Celesteela and Volcarona alsoas picking off very weakened Garchomps and Landos with Hp Ice. The momentum Tapu Koko provides with U-Turn is also highly appreciated on the team, bringing in Whimsicott in the Terrain, as well as other team members with no chip on them, if the opponent switches, also gaining all important momentum. Brave Bird also lures AV Tangrowth and M.Venusaur somewhat, either picking it off, off keeping it low for the rest of the team. Wild Charge + Thunderbolt from Whimsicott also has a very good chance to Ko Shift Gear Z Magearna from full. Hasty is run to outpace Scarf Greninja and Scarf Dugtrio, helping circumvent the trapping while keeping Specs Shuriken damage to a minimum.
  94.
  95.
  96. M.Mawile
  97.
  98. M.Mawile is here as a general breaker on the team, with powerful priority in Sucker Punch, nice terrain boosted Thunder Punch to help break Skarmory and Toxapex and the all powerful Play Rough, all off the massive Huge Power boosted attack stat. M.Mawile comes with the ability to scare M.Sableye out and dent Skarmory, allowing for rocks to be kept vs stall more easily too, helping vs stall match up. With the ability Intimidate before mega evolution and with arguably the best typing in the game, Steel Fairy, M.Mawile also provides defensive utility for the team, also making great use of Tapu Bulus terrain to weaken common Ground moves and the passive recovery, and acting as a nice Poison immunity for the team. M.Mawile also appreciates the momentum gained from Tapu Koko, bringing it in on slow Pokemon, allowing M.Mawile to get a big hit off and bring it in under terrain, boosting its Thunder Punch. Sucker Punch is also nice to pair with Tapu Kokos Scarf Wild Charge or Whimsicotts Priority Energy Ball, allowing it to revenge kill or chip, for Tapu Koko or Whimsicott, speed boosting Pokemon, or Scarfers.
  99.
  100.
  101. Latios
  102.
  103. Latios is the teams all important fire resist and defoger, being able to defog on many defog on many force switches due to the threat of Draco Meteor. Latios can come in on most of the common fire types such as M.CharizardY and Volcarona, and either stall sun turns, or dent with a Soul Dew boosted Psyshock respectively. Latios as a Dragon Psychic type, also appreciates all the Fairy types to absorb the Dark and Dragon type moves and has especially good type synergy with M.Mawile. Soul Dew is used so Latios doesn't take any unnecessary chip damage for the price of slightly weakening Draco and Psyshock compared to Life Orb damage. Latios's speed is also very nice for the team, forcing out threats such as Band Zygarde and Kyurem-B. Latios essentially acts as an wall for the team, being able to come in on weaker attacks or resisted hits and Recover them off.
  104.
  105.
  106. Heatran
  107.
  108. Heatran was the last pick for the team, and was easily the hardest. Heatran fills the rolls of checking Tapu Lele while not being fire weak, checking Calm Mind Magearna, and providing powerful fire coverage for the team, allowing the revenge killing of Tapu Bulu, and other such Pokemon. I decided to go with the Substitute set so make Dugtrio less of a threat, especially with the potential Grassy Terrain up, ease prediction, and allow me to stall out a few turns for rain, terrain or Toxic/Magma Storm Damage. Magma Storms ability to trap Pokemon and allow them to be Toxic worn is also very nice, weakening threats like Chansey and Mew for the team, although it should be noted that its actual ability to trap and remove threats is very limited due to the lack of Z-Move or Taunt, but the set was not designed for this purpose. The speed it to outpace Timid Magearna + 1 and the 32 spatk modest nature allows Heatran to 1v1 Toxapex with the residual damage from Magma Storm, however this does not mean its Magma Storm traps Toxapex.
