- Subj: Regarding Cyrene and Lady Indrani's Order
- Dear Cyrenians,
- In regards to Lady Indrani's Order, I truly believe the acception of
- such an Order, an Order which follows a Divine dedicated to the
- advancement of Sin and perversion, heralding the so-called truth's of
- the "Seven Sins" - Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Pride, Wrath, Avarice, and
- Dominion, would bring more harm than good in the long run.
- Firstly, if shrines dedicated to Lady Indrani were to be seen within
- Cyrene's walls, it would be detrimental to Cyrene's image. We are known
- as the Heart of the Vashnars but what if that Heart were to be tainted
- with assosciation with moral perversion and the Seven Sins? Her very
- symbols are that of the hooded serpent and the arcane septagram, symbols
- assosciated with deception and Evil. By all means, any sound judgement
- would dictate that a passer-by or visitor, especially one from our
- closest ally, Shallam, would not take lightly to the sight of such a
- shrine within the walls of our beautiful city. Surely as a city we would
- like to be seen as one that holds itself with higher moral regards.
- In addition to that, we are a city founded on the principles of
- Neutrality and Good. Lady Indrani is a Divine enemied to the Church of
- Achaea, ecclesiastical scholars have long realised that the embracing of
- such desires would only pervert our morals, hence detrimental to one
- self. Within our walls reside Paladins and Priests, dedicated to the
- cause of Light, albeit by more peaceful means. Furthermore, accepting
- Lady Indrani's Order would only bring us further away from our alignment
- of Neutral-Good.
- The acception of Lady Indrani's Order would only disassosciate ourselves
- and strain our relationship with the Church and Shallam, our long
- standing allies whom we have defended and have received defense in kind.
- The Order Lumeni would surely oppose such actions taken by Cyrene,
- dividing and splitting our citizenry.
- In regards to shrine wars, if a world burn were to take place, it would
- most likely than not, slay Cyrenians -within- our very walls, a threat
- we surely would not allow to take place. If a ban were to be imposed on
- her shrines, it would surely be seen as bias by her Order members
- leading to even more conflict. Something we can surely live without.
- To illustrate my point even further, one of the Seven Sins - Pride.
- Cyrene is a city founded on the principles of respect, embracing
- something such as Pride would be contradictory and rather ironical to
- the core tenet of the Mojushai, which is humility. With respect should
- come humility, a desire to be courteous to a fellow citymate in the face
- of aversion. Secondly, Avarice. If we were to give something as
- superficial as wealth and material desires such a high priority as to
- jeapordise our very image, we would surely be seen as embracing ideals
- closer to that of the Merchants of the Crown in Hashan. A city which is
- supposed to be theoretically neutral but has aided Mhaldor and Ashtan in
- their plight against Shallam, our long standing allies. With all due
- respect, the inclusion of Lady Indrani's Order, an Order dedicated to
- the advancement of Pride, as an allowed Order would be disrespectful to
- the Mojushai.
- Conclusively, Cyrene's image as a city which adheres to morality, a
- Neutral-Good city by alignment and our long standing relationship with
- Shallam and the Church, alongside with the Paladins and Priests whom
- reside within our walls are -far- too much to jeapordize by assosciating
- ourselves with a Order dedicated to Sin and moral perversion. With all
- due respect to my mother, Epiphany, I will not stand for the corruption
- of Cyrene's image. Surely as the Heart of the Vashnars we can hold
- ourselves in higher regards.
- In service,
- Exelethril
