  1. Hi Peacemaker,
  2. First thank you so much for reviewing my case.
  3.
  4. So looking over my logs there clearly is negative behavior and I definitely don’t doubt that. I think in this case, a toxic player who was demeaning our team and purposely not trying was really getting in my head. However, I understand that the right thing to do here and what I should have done wasn’t to just ignore them and give my team positivity. I also realized I should have encouraged my team to keep our spirits high instead of just wanting to quit because this negative attitude made me no better than the player on our team who was intentionally sabotaging our team.

  6. After receiving previous suspensions, I not only learned that lashing out at teammates for what they did was counterproductive to our goals as a team, but more Importantly ruined the experience for other players. I feel that I was able to stop this behavior for those reasons, but in this case I faltered in the fact that I thought it was okay to act negatively when there was someone on our team who was actively insulting our teammates and not trying to win. However looking back now, I understand that my negative behavior made me just as bad as this player. I really was becoming a much more less toxic player when it came to communicating with my team, but this case was just one I really had never experienced before, and I am sorry for my behavior and have learned that my behavior simply wasn’t justified or helpful to my team in any way.

  8. Now to answer your questions.
  9.
  10. If you were given another chance what would you do differently?
  11. If I was given another chance I definitely approach situations like the ones seen in the lot very differently. I feel that before my ban, I was doing very well in praising my teammates who performed well, and did a good job of communicating to them in general. Before my ban I also felt that I was able to no longer lash out at underperforming teammates. However the situation in the log was one where my teammate was intentionally sabotaging our team. In this case, instead of increasing the negativity he caused in our team, I should’ve firstly ignored him and his insults toward us, and secondly should have been positive to both the player giving up and my teammates in an effort to not only get the player to help our team, but to encourage our team to keep trying despite this player. If I ever got a second chance I would make sure to keep my teams spirits high in an effort to win, instead of just being negative and counter productive.
  12.
  13. What can you do to prevent seeing you with another penalty?
  14. Currently, I feel that I need to improve my mindset in these kinds of scenarios. When there is someone not trying it is very easy to give up easily and start to get frustrated at that player. However, if I simply ignore the player, encourage them, or even beg for mercy it would definitely lead to a better outcome than if I act negatively. I also think that I need to improve my attitude towards my team to be more positive. In the future, to prevent another penalty, I would remember this scenario and remember to be positive, and not get frustrated at the player who was no longer trying. I feel that the League reform system is effective as I have previously reformed my actions to no longer lash out at teammates who simply were underperforming despite their best efforts, and I feel that in this situation I have learned to deal with teammates who are trying to lose on purpose.
  15.
  16. Imagine this ban was never placed, What advice would you wish you had to prevent you from receiving a suspension?
  17. I really wish I could have told myself to deal with people who troll or don’t try in a better way. I feel that it is part of the culture of the game to verbally shame these players and that is why I felt so inclined to do so. However, looking at it from a perspective of the player being a real person and not just a name on my screen, it definitely would have helped if I had told myself to just think of it in this way. I feel that if I had saw my teammate and my team as other people rather than my jungler, midlaner, etc. I definitely would have been more understanding of their actions and would have not lashed out at the player trying to lose and would have encouraged my team to try to win.
  18.
  19. How do you feel your behavior affected others in-game?
  20. I feel that my behavior definitely ruined the will to win for my team, and caused the player I had problems with to behave in a worse way. When I acted negatively towards the player who no longer was trying to win, they definitely were not going to start trying, and at the very least decided to play worse. I also believe that my actions and negative behavior lead to my team not trying anymore, as I had completely given up because of this player. This definitely lead to my team giving up and caused one player who still wanted to try and win get upset with me. At the time I thought they were stupid or ignorant but now looking back I was one of the main reasons we couldn’t win, and if I had been like this player and kept trying, the entire outcome of the situation would have been different.
  21.
  22. Thank you so much for giving your time to look over my case. I’m obviously very sorry for my attitude towards my teammates in that game, but more importantly this experience has taught me to be a better teammate in situations like these and in any other situation in the game. I just feel like I wasn’t given a chance to change and if I got my account back I definitely would be a more positive and healthy League player.
