  29. Response from Page May, one of the We Charge Genocide youth delegates who went to Geneva to present the group's report on police violence in Chicago to the UN:
  30.
  31. “I’m devastated, but not surprised. This is the truth of the system. Our people are criminalized, our skin is weaponized, and our lives are seen as disposable. We can not expect justice from the police or legal system, they have never been about helping Black people. Instead, we must consider and build alternatives to policing with community-based models of accountability and transformative justice. At the same time, we must protest this verdict and the overall culture of police impunity. We must protest in honor of Mike Brown’s life and the thousands of others who have been killed. We must protest in solidarity with the struggle in Ferguson. We must protest to insist that Black lives matter.”
