  1. >Akko and Keksandra found a secluded spot behind one of the buildings
  2. >They had about twenty minutes to themselves until the curfew was enforced
  3. >Akko rested her head on Keksandra's shoulder and wrapped her arms over her
  4. >"Can you give me some cheek kisses?" Keksandra asked.
  5. >"Okay, Keksandra-chaaaan."
  6. >The autistic witch peppered the autistic meme witch's cheek with little smooches
  7. >"You're so cuddly," Akko sighed, closing her eyes
  8. >"I like it when you do cuddles," Keksandra sighed back, closing her eyes as well
  9. >Tranquility
  10. >Peace
  11. >Quiet
  12. >Not a single person to disturb the peace
  13. >"Akko."
  14. >Well, maybe Sucy
  15. >...
  16. >SUCY!?
  17. >"WAAAH~!" Akko cried, scrambling to sit up. Keksandra stared up at Sucy, her face frozen in shock.
  18. >"Sucyyy! It's not what it looks like!" cried the ponytail-headed witch
  19. >Sucy remained emotionless
  20. >"You two are terrible at hiding it," she deadpanned.
  21. >"Hiding WHAT?!" Akko protested. "We're just resting!"
  22. >"Akko, drop the charade. You're dating Keksandra."
  23. >Akko wanted to fire back at Sucy, but her unchanging face told her that she was serious.
  24. >"If you girls wanted to hide this, you shouldn't exchange prolonged glances at each other during the lectures."
  25. >Keksandra looked down, feeling embarrassed.
  26. >"How long did you know?" Akko whined.
  27. >"A month."
  28. >Akko stood up fast. "A MONTH!?" she cried, grabbing Sucy by the shoulders. "Please don't tell me you told anybody!"
  29. >"Akko, I've called you an idiot countless times and used you as my guinea pig," Sucy said, staring in Akko's eyes with her stone-cold expression, "but telling people your secrets is not what I do."
  30. >"W-well, don't tell!" Akko pleaded. "I want to wait until we're comfortable!"
  31. >Keksandra rubbed her shoulder. "I-I think we should go, we might get in trouble for breaking curfew," she whimpered
  32. >"Fine. I'll see you two later," Sucy replied. She gave the two a toothy grin before hopping on her broom. "Tia freyre."
  33. >Keksandra whined Sucy disappear, upset that she ruined their cuddling
  34.
  35. >A nice, secluded spot, free of any distractions, free of any angry Finnelans
  36. >Constanze only had a few minutes to test her solar-powered Stanbot prototype before the curfew began
  37. >If all went well, she could begin producing her Stanbots without the need for batteries
  38. >"WAAAH~!"
  39. >A familiar cry caught Constanze's attention
  40. >The source of the sound came from behind her, beyond a couple of bushes
  41. >"Sucyyy! It's not what it looks like!" she heard
  42. >Constanze squinted. That voice was unmistakably Akko's voice. What was she doing there? As a matter of fact, what was Sucy doing there!?
  43. >The little inventor walked to the bush and peeked around it
  44. >Akko and Sucy were there, the former sitting with their talkative new roommate
  45. >"You two are terrible at hiding it," Sucy said.
  46. >Constanze hummed intriguingly. Akko wasn't spying on her, but why she was with Keksandra out here was a mystery
  47. >"Hiding WHAT?!" the embarrassed witch demanded. "We're just resting!"
  48. >As quietly and as quickly as she could, Constanze took her normal Stanbot from atop her head and set it to record audio of the conversation
  49. >"Akko, drop the charade. You're dating Keksandra."
  50. >The little German witch's eyes widened.
  51. >"If you girls wanted to hide this, you shouldn't exchange prolonged glances at each other during the lectures."
  52. >Constanze had noticed that, but she dismissed it as some friendship thing. To be fair, she never understood relationships or social cues.
  53. >"How long did you know?"
  54. >"A month."
  55. >"A MONTH!? Please don't tell me you told anybody!"
  56. >Constanze decided that enough was enough, and she stopped the audio recording. She decided to abandon her solar-powered Stanbot project and quietly slipped away from the scene.
  57. >This was definitely something that she was going to show later tonight to Amanda and Jasminka.
  58. >What she didn't hear while she left the scene was Akko's plea to Sucy.
  59. >"W-well, don't tell! I want to wait until we're comfortable!"
  60.
  61. >Constanze arrived back at the green team dorm, just in time to avoid being caught by one of the patrols
  62. >Amanda was chilling in her bed as usual, talking about homework with Jasminka, who as usual was scarfing down chips
  63. >"How'd your solar power thing go, Constanze?" Amanda asked.
  64. >Constanze's Stanbot jumped onto the floor and spoke up
  65. >"Master was sidetracked. Could not complete testing of Clean Stanbot Prototype," the Stanbot said.
  66. >Jasminka and Amanda looked up at the smol witch.
  67. >"Sidetracked?" Jasminka asked.
  68. >"Master recorded audio. Wants to show."
  69. >The Stanbot stopped moving and transformed into its resting state. A little *bzt* and hum came from it as it loaded up the audio.
  70. >"Akko, drop thzzzhrade. You're dating Keksandzhzhzh"
  71. >Constanze sighed. While the gist of it was there, there must have been some interference with the recording.
  72. >Amanda and Jasminka looked at each other.
  73. >"How long dzhzhzhow?"
  74. >"A month."
  75. >"A MONZHzhhhzhzhthzpspz-b-b-b..."
  76. >And the recording ended.
  77. >The smol witch frowned. Akko said something else, but the interference had blocked it out. She would have to repair the audio in her workroom.
  78. >"So, uh...wow. Akko and Keksandra," Amanda said.
  79. >"I think it's lovely," Jasminka sighed, smiling contentedly as she munched on her chips
  80. >"Honestly, I thought she was eventually going to fall for that Andrew guy," the firey-haired witch added. "I never thought Akko would have a crush on a girl."
  81. >Constanze placed her Stanbot under the bed, resolving to fix the audio tomorrow
  82.
  83. >Getting back to their dorm was difficult
  84. >Akko and Keksandra had passed the curfew, but Akko made some lucky guesses and the two scrambled into their room without being caught
  85. >Lotte was reading her magic astronomy textbook, while Sucy was working on a new potion
  86. >"Oh, you guys are back!" Lotte greeted, bookmarking her textbook. "Did you find the book you needed? You were gone for an awfully long time."
  87. >Akko's face froze.
  88. >Crap, she forgot to make up a cover story!
  89. >"Uh, uh, well..." she fumbled. Keksandra tried not to look guilty.
  90. >"I found them," Sucy spoke up.
  91. >Akko felt a weight pulling her stomach down
  92. >"They found the magic linguistics book, but they were studying in the library," Sucy lied. "Akko told me that it was Keksandra's idea."
  93. >The ponytailed witch looked at Keksandra.
  94. >"U-uh, yeah, 'cause it's much quieter so we don't get distracted!" she hastily added.
  95. >Lotte smiled. "That's pretty clever of you, Keksandra," she said, complimented "her" idea.
  96. >Keksandra rubbed the back of her head. "Yeah, we were so busy studying that Akko saw the clock and she was like, oh my gosh, the curfew is in two minutes! So we ran and ran and we got back without being seen!" she recalled.
  97. >Akko couldn't help but smile. Her girlfriend was fantastic at fibbing.
  98. >The Finnish witch nodded her head and went back to reading her textbook
  99. >"Thank you," Akko mouthed to Sucy
  100. >Sucy grinned back
  101.
  102. >Night passed by without incident, and morning came quickly
  103. >It was Saturday morning, and all the witches were grateful to be free for the weekend
  104. >Though most wanted to sleep in, the red and green teams often used the mornings to get first pick of what was on offer for breakfast
  105. >Red team arrived first, with the hungry Akko collecting as much food as she possibly could
  106. >Plums, mashed potato, pudding, and some hot chips
  107. >Sucy and Lotte sat next to each other, while Akko and Keksandra, of course, sat opposite of them
  108. >The latter two had a system together in the lectures. Akko was right handed, and Keksandra was left handed. So, as often as they could, Akko would sit to the right of Keksandra in lectures. That way, they could use their dominant hands to write, while sneaking in some light hand-holding underneath the desks
  109. >It worked so well that not a single witch had noticed
  110. >Except for Sucy, but not because of the hand-holding, because of their troublesome desire to look at each other in the lectures
  111. >As far as they were concerned, only she knew, and their secret was still safe
  112. >Just as Akko was about to rest her hand on Keksandra's, a certain American accent caught their ears, causing her to snatch her fingers away
  113. >"Hey hey, gals!" Amanda cheered, barging in and sitting next to Akko
  114. >Jasminka and Constanze followed suit, taking their places next to Keksandra and Lotte
  115. >"Hi, girls," Akko mumbled, mouth full of chips
  116.
  117. >"So, what's on the agenda for the weekend? I'm gonna fly freestyle on my broom later," Amanda declared.
  118. >Lotte swallowed her bite and looked up. "I'm going into town later, there's a sneak peek of the new Night Fall book," she sighed, beaming dreamily
  119. >"Mushroom hunting, I guess," Sucy deadpanned.
  120. >Amanda nodded. "Uh huh, uh huh, cool stuff," she drawled, pretending to care. She gave Akko a slight nudge.
  121. >"So, Akko, savior of magic, what about you?" the red-headed American said, her eyebrow arcing. "Got any plans? You gonna study with the newbie?"
  122. >Akko stopped chewing on her chips and gulped. "Keksandra isn't a newbie any more, Amanda," she corrected her, "but I'm gonna take her to see Diana today!"
  123. >Keksandra nodded quickly and grinned.
  124. >"Akko says she saved the world with Diana and made magic super strong again!" Keksandra said. "I hear she's a really good student!"
  125. >Amanda chuckled softly. "Sooner or later, you'll make magic with Akko," she said under her breath.
  126. >"Eh?" Akko interjected.
  127. >"Nothing."
  128. >For some reason, Akko thought Amanda was behaving a little differently than normal, but she dismissed it as Amanda being Amanda
  129. >"I think I'll stay a while longer," Jasminka sighed, shoving another chip into her mouth, "and Constanze is working later."
  130. >This got Akko's attention. "Are you working on that solar powered Stanbot?" she asked excitedly.
  131. >Constanze looked up and gave the girl a thumbs up.
  132. >"That's awesome! Maybe I can come down with Keksandra and show her your workro-"
  133. >"MM-MM!"
  134. >The smol witch shook her head violently, remembering her vow to work on the audio recording of Akko's confession
  135. >If either of them knew about it, she would be in deep scheiße
  136. >"O-oh, okay, no distractions?" Akko asked, feeling a little surprised at Constanze's denial
  137. >Constanze nodded solemnly
  138.
  139. >Constanze's expertise at audio repair was paying off for once
  140. >She was slowly getting a legible hearing of the last phrase from the Akko audio recording
  141. >Clicking around, she amplified some parts of the pitch and filtered out more noise
  142. >The smol witch decided to test out the last phrase again and clicked Play
  143. >"A MONTH zhleade dzhtzhll zheuuzhld anybzhy..."
  144. >Constanze could make out one word: "please"
  145. >"A month, please..." she thought
  146. >More time was needed
  147. >Little did she know that playing the recording to Amanda was a fatal mistake
  148.
  149. >If the interference at the end of Constanze's recording hadn't been there, Amanda would have known better
  150. >Lotte and Sucy were hanging out in the green team's room with Amanda and Jasminka, just for a few minutes before the two red team roommates were to depart for their own activities
  151. >It was then that Amanda wound up dropping the bombshell
  152. >"Hey, Lotte?" Amanda asked.
  153. >"Mmm?" the Finnish witch hummed, placing her latest issue of Night Fall in her bag
  154. >"How have things been recently knowing that Akko's...you know..." Amanda tried to word her phrase correctly
  155. >Sucy felt her skin prickle.
  156. >"What's with Akko?" Lotte asked
  157. >"Y'know...swinging the other way?"
  158. >Amanda didn't notice that Sucy had frozen completely
  159. >"What does that mean?"
  160. >Amanda facepalmed. "Lesbian, Lotte, have things been different since she became a lesbian?" she asked again
  161.
  162. >"Les- what!?" Lotte cried, shocked at hearing Amanda come up with such a thing. "Where did you hear such a thing!?"
  163. >Sucy's eye twitched. Somebody had found out.
  164. >"Heard it through the grapevine last night," Amanda proudly proclaimed. "Totally didn't see it com-"
  165. >Amanda's declaration was interrupted by Lotte.
  166. >"Wha-what are you talking about? Is this a joke!?" Lotte demanded. "I never heard anything about this! She didn't tell me!"
  167. >It was at that moment that Amanda realized that she may have gone down the wrong path
  168. >"H-hold on, hold on..." Amanda said, "back up a bit. You're saying that she never told you?"
  169. >Lotte gulped. "I...no, never," she stuttered
  170. >Before Amanda could speak, Sucy had rushed over to her and lifted her up by the collar.
  171. >"W-woah, woah, Sucy, you're chokin' me!" Amanda gasped.
  172. >"How did you find this out?" Sucy demanded, her voice low.
  173. >"S-Sucy!?" Lotte gasped. "You knew!? This isn't a lie?!"
  174. >Amanda struggled against Sucy's strong grip.
  175. >Even though Sucy's eyes burned holes into hers, Amanda couldn't implicate Constanze in this.
  176. >"I...heard...from...another...student..." Amanda rasped.
  177. >Jasminka's eyes were, on this rare occasion, wide open.
  178. >"Who?" Sucy hissed.
  179. >"Couldn't...remember...didn't...know...her..."
  180. >Sucy dropped Amanda onto her bed, the American witch coughing violently.
  181. >"You better not have told anybody else. That was her wish."
  182. >"I...I didn't...honestly...!" Amanda coughed.
  183. >Lotte and Jasminka stood back. Sucy's glare was deadly. VERY deadly.
  184. >Sucy got up close to Amanda.
  185. >It wasn't long before she cracked.
  186. >"Okay..." she heaved. "I told...like...one girl."
  187. >"Who."
  188. >"H-huh?"
  189. >"Who. Was. It."
  190. >Amanda gulped. She was in for it.
  191. >"W-Wangari."
  192.
  193. >Sucy's extremely angry expression was frightening, to say the least
  194. >"Of all students, you told Wangari," she replied threateningly.
  195. >"Y-yes?" Amanda shakily answered.
  196. >"The same Wangari who runs the school newspaper."
  197. >"I-I thought y-you knew...about all this..."
  198. >Sucy narrowed her eyes
  199. >"The same Wangari who is going to publish this in the gossip column of that newspaper, which out of any day of the week, is printed at midday on Saturday."
  200. >Amanda gulped. Today was a Saturday.
  201. >"And right now, it's half past twelve."
  202. >Amanda cracked under the pressure.
  203. >"Okay! I'm sorry! I honestly thought this was out there! I never intended to hurt Akko or her girlfriend!"
  204. >Jasminka swallowed her chip and spoke up. "She's telling the truth," Jasminka pleaded. "Don't hurt her."
  205. >Lotte hung back, processing this new piece of information.
  206. >Akko was a lesbian, and she had a girlfriend, and everybody in the room except for her knew about it
  207. >Sucy stepped back and stood tall. "You have done enough to make this bad for Akko and her girlfriend," she said to Amanda. "I do not expect them to be very happy."
  208. >Amanda looked down, her eyes full of regret.
  209. >"Rest assured, I will find out who told you," Sucy continued, "even if I have to go through the entire school."
  210. >The American witch's throat dried up as she nodded. She glanced at Jasminka, who too wore a stressed look on her face. This was bad for Constanze.
  211. >"S-Sucy?" Lotte asked.
  212. >"Yes, Lotte?"
  213. >"Y-you said Akko has a girlfriend," Lotte stammered. "Do you know who?"
  214. >Sucy looked at Lotte, her face unmoved. She sighed.
  215. >"I suppose the news has gotten out by now," Sucy conceded, "but it's obvious who it is."
  216. >Lotte went through the names in her head. It wasn't her, obviously, and it wasn't Sucy. It was definitely not Jasminka or Amanda, given what she'd witnessed.
  217. >Constanze? Maybe, they did hang out a lot more.
  218. >Perhaps Diana? It was possi-
  219. >Keksandra
  220. >It had to have been her
  221. >"I-it's Keksandra?" Lotte guessed
  222. >Sucy nodded
  223.
  224. >The midday bells chimed in the background, just as Akko knocked on the blue team's dorm door
  225. >"Dai-a-naaaa!" Akko called out, trying to get the top student of Luna Nova's attention.
  226. >Keksandra stood behind her and looked around, making sure nobody was in the hall
  227. >Content at knowing that it was empty, she stole a quick peck on Akko's cheek
  228. >Akko sighed dreamily, feeling her face heat up
  229. >The heat drained quickly as the door opened, forcing Akko to stare forward again
  230. >"Good afternoon, Akko," Diana greeted, embracing the normal weekend ability to wear casual clothing. She noticed Akko's roommate behind her. "And, Keksandra, I presume?"
  231. >Keksandra stepped forward and gave Diana a mighty hug. "Hiii, Diana! I heard about you, you're like, the smartest witch in school, right?" she shouted.
  232. >Diana wasn't used to embraces like this, but she had heard from Akko that she was kind of hyperactive
  233. >"It is a pleasure to become acquainted with you," Diana replied. "I am preparing some tea with Barbara, you two are more than welcome to make yourselves comfortable."
  234. >Keksandra bounded inside happily, while Akko took a seat on one of Diana's sofas
  235. >"This room is so fancy!" Keksandra said, noticing how extravagant it was in comparison to hers
  236. >Barbara peeked her head out from behind the bookshelf
  237. >"Is that Akko's new roommate out..." she asked, eventually noticing said girl, "...aha, I thought so."
  238. >Diana closed the door and took a seat on the sofa next to Akko
  239. >"May I inquire how you are going with studying for next week's magic linguistics test?" Diana asked Akko.
  240. >Akko grinned. "It's going great! I've been helping out Keksandra too because she needs help," she replied, tapping her knees excitedly. She looked around to the bookshelf. "Where's Hannah gone to?"
  241. >"Hannah's hanging out with Avery for now," Diana explained. "I believe they're waiting to get this week's newspaper."
  242.
  243. >Barbara brought out four cups of steaming hot tea, distributing it equally among the four girls
  244. >"Now, even if you feel like you're going to do well in your test, remember that I am always glad to let you read my notes," Diana reminded Akko, "and I am happy to tutor you. Your roommate is welcome to take up this offer at any time."
  245. >Keksandra grinned. "Akko says you helped save the world a few months ago! Is that really true?" she asked.
  246. >Diana sipped her tea and smiled. "It truly was an eventful few days," Diana recalled, remembering the day. "A former professor's Magitronics had taken control of a deadly missile and launched it. I, along with Akko, Lotte, Sucy, and the green team used our powers to catch up to the missile on a modified broom. It was quite a formidable foe, but we blew it up in the atmosphere with Akko's Shiny Rod."
  247. >Keksandra had stars in her eyes. "I'm sitting in a room with two heroes! Oh my gosh! This is so ebin!" she cried, tapping her feet on the carpet repeatedly
  248. >"In the following days, our school was accosted by a large media presence. All of us were interviewed. We were broadcast internationally," Diana continued. "As a result of that, as well as spreading magic all over the world once more, our attendance has skyrocketed and Luna Nova is no longer troubled financially."
  249. >Feeling butterflies in her stomach, Keksandra bundled up and squealed. "And then I came here to learn magic!" she exclaimed. "I'm friends with the best witches in the world!"
  250. >Diana was about to continue speaking when the door opened
  251. >It was Diana's other roommate, Hannah
  252. >She was carrying a newspaper in her hand, and she looked like she had something important to say
  253. >"Diana! Have you rea- Akko?" Hannah hastily said, stopping as she saw the ponytailed witch. She looked to Akko's right and noticed the other girl she was concerned about. "K-Keksandra? You're both here?"
  254.
  255. >The British witch observed her roommate's panicky attitude.
  256. >"Hannah, may I inquire what is causing this rather anxious behavior of yours?" Diana asked. She turned to Barbara, who stood up and walked behind the bookshelf
  257. >Hannah stood still and breathed out.
  258. >"W-well, Avery and I had just got the newspaper today, an...and we were on the gossip column and...and there was-" Hannah explained, pausing to catch her breath.
  259. >Diana held a hand up. "Hannah, while I enjoy reading the weekly publication from the Luna Nova News Network, I am not fond of the gossip column," Diana interrupted. "I find the contents to be damaging to the students who are named within it."
  260. >Hannah wasted no time moving on. "Th-that's the thing, Diana! It's..." she stopped to calm herself down, "...it's about Akko...and Keksandra too."
  261. >Akko's eyes widened. "W-wait, I'M in the gossip column? Why!?" she cried.
  262. >Keksandra's cheerful expression faded.
  263. >Finishing off her tea, Akko swallowed it and looked up.
  264. >"What did they write about me?" she asked.
  265. >Hannah walked forward and handed her the newspaper.
  266. >Akko found the gossip column and glanced at it
  267. >Her heart stopped
  268. >She felt her stomach sink
  269. >"I know you, Akko," Hannah said calmly. "You're definitely not what they make you out to be in there."
  270. >Akko whimpered.
  271. >"Yes I am."
  272. >Diana, Barbara and Hannah looked up at Akko.
  273. >Hannah looked shocked. Diana and Barbara didn't know what was going on.
  274. >Most of all, Keksandra felt horrible and tried not to cry
  275. >"W-wait..." Hannah gasped. "It's true? You're really a..."
  276. >"I'm a lesbian."
  277. >Akko's words felt painful to get out of her
  278. >Diana looked at Barbara, both somewhat unsure how to react
  279. >"We're girlfriends," Keksandra sniffled
  280.
  281. >All Akko wanted was to keep this relationship a secret until she and Keksandra were comfortable with coming out together
  282. >That had gone straight out the window the moment she saw it in the newspaper
  283. >She couldn't understand how this could have been known to anybody else
  284. >Though Sucy was the only one who knew about it, she was sure that Sucy didn't spill it
  285. >"Akko, Keksandra, are you two alright?" Diana commented.
  286. >"I-it's not like we hate...I mean, we don't hate you!" Hannah blurted out. "We think i-it's cute, honest!"
  287. >Keksandra wiped her face and whimpered.
  288. >"We were trying to keep it a secret," she sniffled, feeling a tear running down her face
  289. >Akko shuffled awkwardly in her seat.
  290. >"We didn't want anybody to know yet. We didn't feel comfortable," Akko grumbled, feeling upset. "Girls, we know you don't hate us. We know you're not like that."
  291. >Hannah sighed, feeling relieved. Barbara looked at the couple, unable to hide her concerned face.
  292. >Diana looked at them, questioning their decision. "Did you keep it a secret because of what the rest of the school might have to say about it?" she asked.
  293. >Nodding solemnly, Akko sighed. "Y-yes, we thought they might tease us, and make fun of us, and call us names," she admitted, "and I...I think the professors wouldn't like it. I know some of them like tradition, and tradition says that we shouldn't love each other."
  294. >Keksandra, being a lot more sensitive that Akko, couldn't help but weep audibly. Now that the whole school was going to know of their relationship, she dreaded what was going to happen. Diana couldn't help put wipe a tear from her eye as she noticed her distress.
  295. >"Akko, Keksandra, listen."
  296. >The two girls looked up at Diana.
  297. >"Your love for each other is a wonderful thing. It should be nurtured and grown like a flower, not hidden," Diana continued. "Flowers can be trampled, treated poorly and damaged by other people who do not care. I want to be the one that defends it."
  298.
  299. >Akko knew that Diana was making her feel better, but her remarks were a little too cryptic for her.
  300. >"What are you saying?" she asked, squeezing Keksandra's hand.
  301. >Diana smiled. "I'm saying that if other people try to make fun of you two for being who you are, then they'll have to get past me first," she explained.
  302. >"And us too!" Hannah declared, moving next to Barbara.
  303. >Akko beamed, her smile growing. Keksandra wiped her eyes and felt her own smile coming back.
  304. >"Th-thank you so much, Diana!" Akko choked out. "That means a lot to us!"
  305. >Diana humbly lowered her head. "It is my duty as a Cavendish," she stated. "After all, our motto is 'affection'."
  306. >Keksandra sniffled, clearing her nose. "D-does somebody have a tissue?" she asked.
  307. >As Hannah rushed to get the tissue box, the girls resumed chattering about their studies, plans and interests.
  308. >Though Akko felt so much better, there was still one thing plaguing her mind. Somebody, not Sucy, knew about their relationship.
  309. >And that somebody had told one of the girls who worked for the LNNN
  310. >She had to know who it was.
  311.
  312. >Constanze had finally completed coding
  313. >After testing some more audio recordings outside with the Stanbot, she used them to figure out how to remove 95% of the interference
  314. >It was time to apply it to her Akko recording
  315. >With a few clicks, she watched the waveforms change
  316. >Satisfied, Constanze played the recording back.
  317. >"A MONTH!? Pleazh don't zhell me you told anybody!"
  318. >The German witch seized up
  319. >She played it again
  320. >She hadn't misheard
  321. >"Scheiße..." she thought.
  322.
  323. >After an hour, Akko and Keksandra decided to make their way to the dining hall for lunch
  324. >Diana and her roommates tagged along, just in case the couple received any insults
  325. >When they entered the hall, it was obvious what the gossip of the day was
  326. >Almost everybody had a newspaper
  327. >"Can you believe they're together?"
  328. >"Akko and that new girl? It's ludicrous!"
  329. >"What do they even see in each other?"
  330. >"Look!"
  331. >Somebody decided to raise the alarm that the subjects of today's gossip had just arrived
  332. >Akko and Keksandra felt all eyes on them
  333. >The hall was extremely silent, barring a wolf-whistle or two
  334. >Fortunately, the two weren't afraid of any criticism any more, considering Diana's pledge
  335. >Akko reached out and grabbed Keksandra's hand, feeling her squeeze it back
  336. >Instantly, the hall reacted
  337. >...by going back to gossiping
  338. >"Well, that was an interesting series of events," Diana observed aloud.
  339. >The group proceeded as normal and got their food before sitting down at one of the empty tables
  340. >Akko was munching on a bran muffin when her other red team roommates came by
  341. >"Lotte, Sucy, what's up?" Akko greeted, signalling to them to sit with the group
  342. >Sucy remained as expressionless as ever.
  343. >"You sure dropped that whole 'don't tell anybody' shtick in a hurry," Sucy said.
  344. >"Sucy!" Lotte exclaimed, turning to Akko. "I'm glad you two decided to come out! You make such a cute couple."
  345. >Akko giggled. "As long as I've got my friends, I don't care what the others think of us!" she declared.
  346.
  347. >Amanda couldn't stop apologizing to Constanze
  348. >"I'm so sorry I've put you in this position, Cons!" she apologized profusely. "I thought they were ready, I promise! I told Lotte and she said she had no idea, and I told Wangari before that and now everybody knows because of that damn gossip column and now Sucy's going to figure out that it was you who told me!"
  349. >Needless to say, Constanze was furious.
  350. >Sure, Amanda was careless, but careless enough to put her roommate in such a bad position?
  351. >"Grrrrr..." she seethed.
  352. >It was then that Constanze's Stanbot jumped down and gave Amanda a kick in the shin. The American witch jumped, feeling the pain hit her.
  353. >"I deserve that," she groaned.
  354.
  355. >"Just act natural, pretend like you're not involved," Jasminka assured Constanze as they walked through the dining hall with Amanda
  356. >After getting their food, the green team found the table that the blue and red teams sat at, joining them
  357. >"Hehe, I guess you know the news, right?" Akko asked them.
  358. >Constanze nervously gave Akko a thumbs up.
  359. >"A-Akko, I gotta say it," Amanda replied, prompting Akko to cock her head. "I...I told Wangari about your relationship. I had no idea you wanted to keep it secret. I'm really sorry."
  360. >"Amanda, forget about it," Akko smiled. "I'm happy that it's out there now."
  361. >Keksandra beamed at Amanda, giving her a toothy grin.
  362. >"Amanda says that a student she didn't know told her about your relationship," Sucy interjected.
  363. >Akko paused, looking at Sucy with her mouth full
  364. >"As my guinea pig, It's my job to distress you," Sucy added. "Whoever found out about this has walked into my territory."
  365. >Akko swallowed her food. "Uh, that's a weird way to word it," she replied.
  366. >Sucy looked at her. "Akko, I don't care if you're happy that your relationship is public," she said. "The one who knew about it was out to hurt you. I'm going to make it my mission to find that student."
  367. >Constanze gulped.
  368. >"And when I find her, it won't be pretty."
