- He turned back to the Pacific and went in, bracing himself against the onslaught of the ocean. Following Mr. Miyagi's instructions he began throwing front kicks into the waves, fighting the undertow. Eventually, he found his rhythm and began his practice in earnest. The power and increasing persistence of the waves seemed perfectly suited for kick practice. It didn't feel good yet because it wasn't over, but it was satisfying to see such progress in his skills. When he was done, he sat on the beach, and wondered where Mr. Miyagi had gone.
