- Description: Berger, who was paroled September 15th, burst into Bre’s room just before midnight and whispered “I’m going to kill you.” Kayli attempted to help her sister, but Berger kicked her down the stairs. He then held Bre down and told her that he was going to kill her, then get her sister. Bre then struggled with Berger as he stabbed her multiple times, before holding the knife to her throat. Just then a police officer, who was responding to Berger’s intrusion at house down the street in which Berger tried to enter the room of a 2-year-old girl, entered the home and ordered Berger to drop the knife several times. When he refused, the officer shot him once in the head, killing him.
