- Anthology movie by, and starring, Michael Jackson in his prime, combining a number of music videos from his bestselling "Bad" album with a fantasy tale of Michael's confrontation with a ruthless drug dealer known as Mr. Big (Joe Pesci).
- Starting with the caring "Man In The Mirror" and ending with the hymnal "The Moon Is Walking", Moonwalker is a informative anthological film, featuring music videos based off of "Bad", all ending with the ebony tale of a drug dealer whose goal is to get kids hooked.
- I am not here to write a review, I am here to express an emotion that I felt while watching the "Moonwalker".<br/><br/>Michael Jackson's Moonwalker is not a story with a plot and a happy/sad ending. This is a personal thought expressed through art. Michael's introverted personality would urge him at times to express his views and personal feelings through featuring films, along with lyrics and music composition. The Moonwalker is an idea that has been exposed; it is one of Michael's manifold forms of expressing his inner, childhood and unexplored-yet world.<br/><br/>If you expect to watch a well scripted "movie", then the Moonwalker will disappoint you.<br/><br/>A personal connection to Michael, as a man who struggled deeply and inside, would get you to see the language of expression he chose for the Monwalker: selected songs from his up-to-1988 discography, cartoon characters which, in my opinion, are selected mindfully, a chained short sequencing to transition between songs/clips and, Michael's known trait; the magic of shooting stars, kids, fantasies of transformation from a human to something else (I won't give spoilers!). <br/><br/>Escapism, fantasy, magic, excitement and lots of fun and anticipation are used in the Moonwalker to tell the audience: "Hey! This is me, Michael Jackson, offering a little piece of what is going on inside my head and heart, for so long. I may not express it all too well, but I invite you all to come to terms of who is Michael Jackson, the human being, full of dreams and visionary images."<br/><br/>I loved the Moonwalker because it simply allowed me to read Michael Jackson through a somewhat different artistic medium - movie; an artist with a unique expressed language, and lots of inner doubts and insecurities (I guess we all have those!!).<br/><br/>In Michael Jackson's ideal world, we are all invited to fight the good fight, i.e. peacefully, using art. His way to "change the world" starts from changing the man - he. He might very well tried to say: "I found my inner call - music and dancing - to change the world, what about you?" But then, just as magical as the man has been, he wouldn't express anything explicitly and would trust the audience intelligence to read the message on their own. Michael Jackson's mission would not show you how to "moonwalk" in life, instead, it would probably inspire you to start walking your own journey.<br/><br/>I have been MJ's life time fan. He has inspired me so deeply at a very early age to learn English, for the love of his songs. I have learned every word, every verb, every preposition, adjective, adverb and sentence structure just in hopes to understand what he was saying! But as I got over the surface of the language he uses - English - I realized that MJ's powerful language was not English, it was Love to ALL. May your soul rest in Peace - the true King of music and hearts.
- I really don't see how I can write ten lines about this rubbish, but I will try. <br/><br/>Firstly, what the hell is a man like Joe Pesci doing playing one of the most clichéd, stereotypical bad guys, Mr Big. Maybe the dollar signs were a big for him. <br/><br/>Finally, this is nothing more than a blatant egotistical promo, spawned by a man who quite obviously has a messiah complex and a bunch of money grabbing executives looking to cash in on Jacksons fame in as many ways as possible. <br/><br/>This should go down as one of the worst movies of all time.
- Quite astonishingly the newly released European Blu-ray versions - at least the German and British ones - are censored. Two scenes involving Mr. Big and Katie got trimmed. In the first one Mr. Big hits her and in the second one the heroin injection is missing as well. It is unknown whether all Warner Blu-rays feature this cuts.<br/><br/>However, the 1990 Guild Home Video VHS version (UK rated PG) may have these edits included in an earlier edit. The infamous baseball bats with the car outside the Club is not included on this VHS version. a5c7b9f00b
