  1. Lore FAQ:
  2. **Q: What the fuck is the world?**
  3. (Suggested by Rnar) A: The World the Haven games takes place in is the Center of the Omniverse, the Kingdom of Gods, and the first world to ever come into creation.
  4. Once it was abandoned by all but those Proto-Deities, those Living Miasma's that are the raw stuff of Creation, but, millennia ago, a Great being from an outer world discovered a path too it, and subjugated it. Perhaps it was Soulstice Dawn, perhaps a predecessor, this is not known.
  5. What is known, is that over time, other great beings, masters of their worlds, discovered the path to this place, and traveled there. Over time, they pulled others from many worlds there, and those brought settled, and had families.
  6. Now it is a thriving and Overcrowded center of travel in the multiverse, where the mighty from all worlds still find their way to, linking their world to the center, others are drawn there by it's residents, and other still are born within it's confines.
  7. But to most people, on most worlds, the center remains a mystery.
  8.
  9. **Q: What do the competitors win?**
  10. A: Generally, they win one million dollars, as has been stated. If their home dimension uses a different currency, it will be 1 million of that. Due to inflation, this might be more than *literally* just one million, but effectively "1 million American dollars from exchange rates to their home currency"
  11.
  12. **Q: Can the competitors win anything else?**
  13. A: With Soulstice Dawn as the host, no. However, that might change in the future if he rescinds his role.
  14.
  15. **Q: How do people get to the Haven?**
  16. A: For the most part, anyone is able to reach it if they are willing, though some will also be pulled in by Soulstice - willingly or unwillingly.
  17.
  18. **Q: How do people who already died in their stories or multiple versions of the same character come in?**
  19. A: The Haven doesn't abide by the laws of time and space precisely how it should - when a character comes from the current host of the Games beckoning them, or from their own volition, they also make a timeline where they didn't. This means that characters who already died in their canon (such as L from Death Note) were pulled from before their death. The point might also rob them of crucial information, such as enemies they might have.
  20. Going back to their home timelines isn't *exactly* possible, but it's also *not* impossible, either. Time shit is weird to explain, and I'd have to do a lot of thinking on how to make it actually make some degree of sense, but effectively this: if L were to find out that Light is Kira, he could not go back to the timeline he came from to kill Light before he kills him.
  21.
  22. **Q: How the fuck does permadeath work?**
  23. A: Simply? The three deities decide that it does. Theoretically, that competitor could keep being brought back in from their home timeline (though of course that'd mean lacking memories of the Haven), but they do not wish for that to happen. If someone were to kill them or somehow dominate them, then you could have crazy shit like 100 Light Yagamis running around.
  24. This is also why we've only had one time where the same character appeared 3 times, Sans - Sans was able to get around it due to him being able to mess with the spacetime continuum, but even then, him doing so more often means he is likely to get Soulstice gunning for removal of his existence.
  25.
  26. **Q: How is it that everyone's on a level playing field, despite even regular people going up against magical beings/gods?**
  27. A: The chips that the Games use aren't only used for letting the competitor leave early if need be - they also average out their power with everyone else when the games first start.
  28. Theoretically, it is possible to remove the chip once the game has *already* begun, and the person will (fairly slowly) return to their normal level of power. However, this goes against the spirit of the games, and doing so is likely to have the host evict you immediately - you might even get banned from the games permanently!
  29. Some people actually join the games for this specific reason - someone who is quite weak can temporarily average their power with deities to feel powerful for once, or a deity might join the games to feel like a mortal for a few days.
  30.
  31. **Q: What WAS Mine Flayer going to do to that tavernkeep?**
  32. A: The world may never know.
