The Missing Chao - Chapter 10

Rouge once again flirted with Knuckles, "I love the fact that we're together again."

Knuckles blew Rouge a gentle kiss and then turned away.

Tails stepped towards the edge of the cliff, "The world is magnificent. Can't wait to explore it."

The 10 Mobians and 2 Chao flew themselves down to the Earth and prepared the continue the journey. The members of Team Ring bid goodbye to the members of Team Emerald as they faced east.

"See you later, alligator!" Amy waved to Blaze.

"In a while, crocodile!" Blaze mewed.

"Not too soon, baboon!"

Amy then asked Sonic, "When are we gonna reach the coast?"

"In 10 minutes," Sonic replied, "if we start running."

"Mr. Forest, can you fly very fast?" Cream was curious.

"I can fly 10 MPH," Forest answered.

"So I have to stuff you in my backpack since we dash faster than that and don't want to leave you being."

"Are y'all ready to boost?!" Sonic called his teammates.

"Yep," everyone else responded while Cream tucked Forest in her knapsack.

"On your marks.... Get set.... GO!!!!!!!!!" Everyone then bolted faster than thought, so quick that they were blurred thickly.

"The gust of wind is almost tugging me out of this backpack," Forest grasped onto the orange soft felt. "I've never experience this speed."

"At least we'll get to the destination in the nick of time," Knuckles barked.

Team Ring sliced through woodland, blazed through meadows, galloped through hills, and glided through valleys. Things were gone so quickly that no one could remember what they passed.

"I'm.... getting.... dizzy....." Forest's head spun around like a top, "although I'm admire the chill."

"We're getting closer," Sonic suddenly eyed a small speck of the beach. "I told y'all we were getting there quickly."

"I wonder how Mobians became so fast," Cream wondered.

"A series of mutations allowed us to enchant our abilities and develop superpowers," Tails used his super intelligence. "Exposure to Chaos Energy might have caused them."

"Interesting!"

"I've been noticing that since 100 years ago," Forest chuckled.

"Now we have touched the sand," Sonic hollered. Everyone else halted.

Emerald Coast. The sea breeze brushed their pelts as the tiny grains of sand tickled their shoe soles. Seagulls, squawking like bath toys, hovered over the rich blue ocean. Waves splatter like drops of paint and seashells scattered all over the ground.

"Time for a dip!" Knuckles cheered.

Everyone unzipped their backpacks and pulled out their swimwear. Then they rushed behind the trees and started to change. At last, Team Ring wandered out and revealed themselves.

Sonic wore his green swimming trunks, Tails wore his blue trunks, Knuckles wore his green-yellow trunks, Amy wore her ted skirtini which was patterned with white flowers, and Cream wore her orange one-piece swimsuit.

"Let's dive!" Tails leaped into the seawater.

"Sonic," Amy turned to her blue sweetheart, "will you take my hand and wade with me? I know you have aquaphobia."

Sonic blushed, "Yes, my little rose." He then blasted towards the pink sow and they started to wade together.

"Awwwww....." Cream's pupils enlarged.

Knuckles teased, "Hey, you two should KISS!"

Sonic felt embarrassed, Amy kissed him on the cheek.

"That..... was.... awkward,"  Sonic's face reddened.

"How dare you say that in front of me!" Amy hissed like a spitting cobra. "Don't you know we're gonna marry in the future and raise 25 hoglets?!"

"Mobians function like humans," Forest corrected, "they do not give birth to litters."

Sonic tried to grin.

"Oh well," Amy rolled her eyes, "at least I'll be a mother."

Sonic looked down, the chilly turquoise water had touched his waist. He sweated violently as his heart beat faster than normal.

"HOLY CHAOS EMERALDS OF FREAKING MOBIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he screeched. "HHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!"

Tails rowed himself and the blue boar towards the edge of the beach.

"Thanks buddy," Sonic stopped panicking.

"Don't you think we should start moving?" Knuckles suggested. "I think we've killed time already."

"May I swim a little bit more, please?" Cream whimpered.

"Yes, as we discuss," Sonic accepted.

Once Knuckles and Amy climbed out of the water (Forest had to stay with Cream for obvious reasons), the 4 mammals sat down on the warm yellow sand and began the conversation.

"I don't think the 'Run across the water and stop at islands' plan will work," Amy debated. "What if we suddenly suffer fatigue and there are no islands nearby?"

"Yeah, I agree," Knuckles supported. "Death is not something we want."

"We can build a boat!" Amy had a light bulb above her head.

"But it wouldn't go pretty fast," Tails shook his head. "This is very hard."

"Maybe we can combine the two ideas together!" Sonic suggested.

"That works!' Tails yelled.

"Let's do this!' Knuckles was ready to cut down a few trees.
