  1. Hi,
  2.
  3. I'm interested in starting a community to revive the Dance Dance Revolution scene in Aberdeen. I'm looking for permission to post up an A4-sized poster either on, or within vicinity of the DDR machine, promoting a Facebook group I've set up ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/148243459108477/ ) [Please note that the group has only just been made, and if permission is granted, I'll be able to work on graphics etc.]

  5. As it stands, the community has been dying ever since the removal of the In The Groove 2 cabinet that was taken out years ago (of which I'm curious to it's whereabouts), and the current machine (EuroMix 2) is in a good enough condition to allow newer players to access the game with no issues. The DDR Supernova machine in Nobles is essentially out of order - at least one of the arrows on both sides has major issues. At the current moment, the next nearest cabinet is located in Dundee at the Student Union, and to my knowledge one has been put up in the new student accomodation in the center of Glasgow. This is a severely limiting factor, as in London there are 3-4 machines, including one arcade that consists entirely of rhythm-based arcade games, being successful enough to host quarterly meetups, lock-ins with free play, and have a thriving community.

  7. Not only would a group such as mine possibly revive a dying scene which I am passionate about, it could bring in more profit to Codonas, and with any luck, we may see Codonas rhythm gaming community expand.

  9. The potential to take this further - provided the cabinets are fully fixed and maintained (the right side UP arrow currently gets stuck occasionally, and RIGHT and DOWN on the same side have intermittent issues) - is very real, and assuming this could become a success, I would love to see the funds generated go back into the machines. London has proved that by allowing people of all skill levels to access these games, it's possible to run an entire arcade on them alone.
  10.
  11. The group itself would be entirely non-profit on my end, with the only money involved going straight into the machines.
  12.
  13. If this is something you would be interested in promoting and working with me on, I would be excited to work with the team once a decision has been made on allowing me to promote such a group.
  14.
  15. If it would be better for me to meet with a manager etc, find my contact details below.
  16.
  17. Thanks in advance, and thank you for your time.
