  1. Yep Stat template is removed
  2.
  3. Instead they're now using scalling system, kinda how mob scalling work, kinda.
  4.
  5. Your damage done and damage taken is adjusted depending on the enemy that you hit or that hit you.
  6.
  7. Item level will increases your damage done and decreases your damage taken, but not absurdly so.
  8.
  9. This will let people customize their own stats, instead of locking them with Stat Template.
  10.
  11. A level 111 can goes almost toes-to-toes with a level 119, or even someone that recently dinged 120.
  12.
  13. But obviously a level 120 mythic-geared player will have clear advantage against people with leveling gear on 111-119 and recently dinged 120 players.
  14.
  15. The details how this work isn't exactly known yet, but according to multiple people that turned on their War Mode when leveling in Beta, a level 111 can go toes to toes with someone that're level 119, or recently dinged 120 players.
  16.
  17. But it's impossible to fight a level 120 with maxed out azerite gear if you're level 119, even if you just recently dinged 120 and not yet maxed out your azerite gear or have bad gear overall, you can see the different in power, but not absurdly so like it is in Legion.
  18.
  19. tl;dr there's behind the scene scalling stuff going on when you're fighting someone with different level or ilvl, your actual level or ilvl doesn't change.
