; daeun was born into the hwang family as the second and youngest child. she was born in auckland, new zealand, and studied there before her family moved back to their hometown, incheon, south korea, after her father completed his work there. growing up, her dream was to be a lawyer which was easy for her since she was a fast learner and often got good grades without any effort at all. however, it eventually changed when she fell in love with performing arts which enabled her to be noticed by bighit entertainment which then led to her being asked to audition for their company. she then entered but left after a year due to personal reasons and joined pledis entertainment months later. her parents were against daeun being an idol at first but eventually gave in after watching her perform passionately at an event.

; in one of the episodes of the reality show, eunhyuk makes an appearance and officially introduces himself as super junior’s eunhyuk as well as daeun’s cousin. he then buys the girls a meal and then the girls all asked eunhyuk about how daeun was like when she was younger for the fans to know and they had a fun-filled night.

; daeun shows the girls the choreography for the first ever song daeun choreographed by herself and they all end up being really touched and even crying because they know the amount of hard work daeun put in to the point where she overworked herself and even fell sick.

; daeun goes out alone bringing the reality show camera along to shop for all the other girls even without being asked to.

; the girls have a midnight talk where they talk about their personal things like their struggles of being an idol and they all end up crying because they didn’t know every member actually felt the same and they eventually grew closer and more bonded after the talk.

; daeun came back to the dorm from the company one day being extremely down, very unlike her usual self, and the other members figured something was wrong. daeun simply came home, bathed and went to bed without saying anything so all the members decide to cautiously have a talk with her. however, the moment daeun’s eyes met the members, she immediately broke out into a sob and the members comforted her. she then told them that the company made her and mingyu break up and the members decide to bring daeun out to play around, hoping she’ll get better.

; a few days after that (^) happened, daeun was still evidently upset and she even fell sick. the members were talking outside in the living room while daeun was sleeping about cases of her crying herself to sleep or even crying after seeing something that probably reminded her of mingyu and the members then individually took initiative to make a duty roster for a different member to give her extra care every day. soon, she felt better but there was no doubt she wasn’t fully recovered from the incident.

; still friends - daeun wasn’t allowed to join in the group’s schedule as she was too sick from overworking herself to choreograph their dance and was clearly really upset about it. one of the members then called mingyu to accompany her at the dorm and so he took time out of his busy schedule to cook soup for her and visted her at her dorm. he made sure she finished every drop of the soup and also somehow convinced her to eat her medicine that she previously refused to because it was bitter. after that, he played around with her until she fell asleep on the couch. he then carried her to her bed and left the dorm after leaving a note that said “get well soon, shortie. please take care of yourself and not get me worried all the time!”

; confession time - mingyu called daeun out to daeun’s favourite ice cream shop one day to eat ice cream together. after eating the ice cream, he gave her a bouquet of roses and asked her to be his girlfriend. she agreed and he then took out a couple necklace that had a promise symbol on it and they immediately wore it.

; dating - mingyu bought both daeun and himself a transparent phone cover when he saw it. when he gave it to daeun, daeun suggested they had their picture together printed and put it between the phone and the phone cover. they had it done and was evidently very happy about it when they showed it off to their members.

; dating - mingyu had a long schedule that day but made time out to meet daeun. knowing that, daeun cooked carbonara and ate it with him when they met. mingyu pretended to not like it but eventually told daeun he was kidding and ate it all.

; dating - mingyu and daeun would video call each other every night after their schedules and would talk about their day until one of them fell asleep but none of them would end the video call until the morning when they’re both awake and going for their first schedule.

; dating - seventeen and luxe had a collaboration stage together and all the members practiced together in pledis’ practice room. while practicing, they got bored and suggested that the losers of scissors-paper-stone go to the convenience store to buy some food for them. coincidentally, daeun and mingyu lost and hence, they went to the convenience store together. while walking there, daeun was walking on the outer side, the side closer to the road, but once mingyu noticed, he swapped places with her and teasingly pushed her to the inner side roughly. after that, they started playing “catch me if you can” until they reached the convenience store. though both of them were supposed to pay for the food, mingyu ended up paying for all of it and daeun was really touched afterwards.

; dating - mingyu and daeun were called to the CEO’s office together and they were afraid of what was going to hit them. turns out, rumours of them dating have spreaded and the rumours were all backed up with concrete evidence. they then confessed to the CEO that they were dating and unfortunately, both of them were instructed to break up and the staffs were to watch them closely and make sure they cut off all contact with each other.

; after the break up - both of them were evidently very devastated and nothing was healing them. under the staffs’ watch, they couldn’t even have eye contact with each other and everything reminded them of each other.

; after the break up - daeun was sick and upset and she wasn’t able to handle it anymore. as she was excluded from the group’s schedule because she was too sick to join them, she snuck out of the dorm since there was no staff watching her and went to seventeen’s dorm. she knocked on the door and when the door opened, it was mingyu himself. he looked exactly like he went through what she did, sadness. he was a complete wreck and so was she. both of them held back every tear that was trying to escape while remaining their eye contact. *the conversation went something like this, feel free to edit any part!* mingyu then asked daeun, “you’re sick. go back and rest at your dor-“. “i missed you.” daeun said and tears rolled down her cheeks, “it’s all your fault, being without you is so difficult. there’s no one making food for me when i’m sick, no one teasing me about my height, no one playing around with me, no one knowing me more than i do and n-n-no one loving me as much as you do. everything reminds me of you and i-“ mingyu pulled daeun into his arms and embraced her while both of their tears fell endlessly. “i missed you too.” mingyu said.

; confronting the CEO - days later, daeun and mingyu decided to meet the CEO together to talk about their relationship. daeun was scared but mingyu assured her everything was going to be fine. turns out, the CEO let them continue dating after they promised to not let this relationship affect their career in any way. the CEO even let this relationship go public and many fans congratulated the both of them and even claimed they were a cute couple. of course there were haters, but their love was stronger than all of them.

; him to her - he acts like he doesn’t care about her but is always looking out for her while making sure he isn’t showing too much affection. he teases her a lot about her height but never really means all the mean things he say. even though she always seems fine, he’s the only one who knows exactly how daeun is feeling even without her telling him.
