Potential Glitchless Rule Revision 2017

  1. TL;DR: Removed the ban on child gerudo/wasteland, and cleaned up many rules that were redundant or badly worded.
  3. Clarification:
  4. Since there is such a gray area in defining what is or is not a "glitch" in this game, a group of OoT players voted to define a set of rules that they would all abide by. It is important that all players use the same rules, since it allows them to compare times with each other. These rules are not perfect, but they are the current standard. This category aims to ban things solely based on the techniques used, not the results of those techniques. To the extent that common sense allows, we may explain this as: "If the means are not a glitch, neither are the ends." So if you do not perform a glitch, you may skip any part of the game, regardless of how important. This is glitchless *any%* after all.

  7. -Power Crouch Stabbing
  8. -Roll invincibility
  9. -Post-damage invincibility frames
  10. -Jumpslashing in mid-air for more distance
  11. -Shield dropping
  12. -Using broken deku stick
  13. -Hookshot Extension
  14. -Rolling from the blue switch in Jabu Jabu's Belly
  15. -Damage boosting
  16. -Damage Buffering
  17. -Placing bombs on lava pits to damage Volvagia
  18. -Skipping text triggers via weapon swapping
  19. -Opening underwater chests while wearing the Iron Boots
  20. -*Passing through the back side of a one-side collision (e.g. bridge clip, darunia's door, shadow falling spikes, forest's falling ceiling)*
  21. -Attacking to collect or hit an object on the other side of a collision
  22. -Momentary Antigravity (e.g. b1 skip)
  24. Banned Techniques:
  25. -Infinite Sword Glitch
  26. -Megaflip
  27. -Extended Antigravity (e.g. unloading lower gerudo fortress)
  28. -Ground jump
  29. -Hoverboost
  30. -All forms of superslide
  31. -Hovering
  32. -Going Out of Bounds (any area Link is never intended to reach at any point in the game. e.g. outer seams, jabu's head, areas exposed to the lowest void in the map, etc.)
  33. -entrance point glitch (or other respawn point manipulation)
  34. -Passing through collision from the front (i.e. clipping)
  35. -Cutscene diving
  36. -Flame storage
  37. -Item Manipulation (BA, RBA, GIM)
  38. -Using collection delay to your advantage (e.g. early eyeball frog. delay happens naturally in many shops if you buy quickly, this is ok)
  39. -Something except for a sword on B (excluding normal circumstances like riding Epona)
  40. -Bottle Duplication
  41. -Wrong warp
  42. -Void warp
  43. -Moving during any cutscene where Link is meant to be stationary (finishing falling is ok if you entered the cs while falling)
  44. -Causing a switch to remain pressed longer than it should
  45. -Ocarina Items
  46. -Z-slide
  47. -A-slide
  48. -Unloading an actor which clearly should be loaded (e.g. actor glitch, unloading KZ's ice, overloading the graveyard or trials to remove graves or Gold Gauntlet monoliths)
  49. -Dying to achieve anything other than a deathwarp
