Release notes: Problem existed at source level with the subtitles of two separate discs, normal mkvmerge/eac3to would not work for demuxing. I have used DGDemux to demux the disc, which gave me all the tracks needed, but the subtitles still needed fixed. These have now been fixed, they play properly and open in BDSup2Sub. The Yiddish subtitle track was fixed, all the lines were marked as forced, I have unchecked all of those except those lines that were forced. A separate subtitle track is included for that as well. Additional retail WEB srts were included. iTunes gave Yiddish SDH, French, and German. Yes (VOD service in Israel) gave full Yiddish. Retail WEB srts thanks to Mongol @ HeBits. Eac3to check logs are provided both on source disc and this remux, showing it can now be demuxed.

Since there is an issue at source level with the subtitles of two separate discs, I was determined to find a solution. The subtitles would either not play at all or would stop working shortly into the movie. This was both playing the disc from the menu, from the mpls, and the m2ts. Problem existed for all 3 subtitle streams.

Demuxed everything with DGDemux, as eac3to had issues with subtitles. The subtitles, once demuxed, would not work in BDSup2Sub, I have fixed them by opening them in subtitle edit and exporting back to pgs, no OCRing was done, just open and export. This fixed the issues with them, which if you used mkvmerge directly on the mpls you ended with ~2300 subs for each stream, which is not correct. Many are duplicates, some were missing, and the times were messed up. The Yiddish stream also had a problem where everything was marked as forced, I have fixed the forced flags for the subtitles that are actually indeed forced. This was then exported as a separate stream as well. There is an eac3to check log that was ran on the mkv, so every stream can be extracted from this with no reported issues. Full disc check log is included as well.

I have included the subs from the PAL DVD as well, one as an untouched VobSub, apart from syncing, and then another that was scaled and positioned appropriately for Blu-rays, this was done since not all players will scale subs as well as others, then some might not position them properly. Scaling was done using ImageMagick’s convert, one pass going up to 400% with unsharp (fixing some blurring), then another going back down to 50%, making a total of 200%, which should be close to how the Blu-ray would be.
