  1. A Moment of Peace - Fluffy Side part 2

  4.
  5. Warning: This story contains mostly tales of a fluffy herd who've grown to hate humans. Viewer discretion really isn't necessary.
  6.
  7. We return to Sable, now named Grit by Dusk, the smarty friend of a herd mostly consisting of darker colored fluffies for camouflage reasons. Grit struggles with the transition from domesticated fluffy to city herd fluffy, she's also pregnant now from her "jumping in".
  8.
  9.
  10.
  11. You've been a member of Dusk's herd for two weeks now and your belly is getting really big.
  12. It scared you at first but some of the other mares said it meant babies!
  13. Babies for you?
  14. That's fantastic!
  15. You've wanted babies as long as you can remember.
  16. Mommy and Daddy will be so proud...
  17. ... That's not right.
  18. They aren't your Mommy and Daddy anymore.
  19. Those humans got rid of you, your smarty friend said so.
  20. He said they gave you big hurties and tossed you out.
  21. That they don't love you and wanted you gone.
  22. You're a smart fluffy though.
  23.
  24. You wish that were the truth.
  25.
  26. You wish it was easier to forget the warm house, great tasting food, playing, huggies, and... *sniff*
  27. But it's still in your head, giving you bad chest hurties.
  28. And they come back every time you think of them.
  29. In a way, it is their fault your chest hurties, the pain of missing them.
  30. But mostly it was your own for not listening.
  31. Mommy and Daddy said not to play with strange fluffies.
  32. To never eat nummies without asking.
  33. And especially never leave the yard without them.
  34. You did all three.
  35. Because you were a smart fluffy and could take care of yourself.
  36. Mommy and Daddy were just worrying too much.
  37. Everything would be ok
  38. You wish that had been true too.
  39.
  40. Much time goes by, you're belly scrapes the ground as you walk.
  41. The herd moves a lot, way more than you're used to and your little legs are constantly sore.
  42. They're still in your thoughts though, Mommy and Daddy.
  43. As light turns to dark and the herd moves, bits about them slip away.
  44. It isn't right, what Dusk said about them abandoning you.
  45. But they didn't come and rescue you either.
  46. You really hoped they would, but in the end it never happened.
  47. Your smarty friend was right about that, them not bothering to look.
  48. And he really is a smarty friend.
  49. He keeps the herd safe and fed when there are so many monsters around.
  50. You fear cat monsters the most, they're no taller than you but move so fast!
  51. They can jump on the herd from nowhere, grab a foal and run off before any fluffy can stop them.
  52. Sometimes you have to help hold a mother back from running after it.
  53. That foal is gone now, she has to concentrate on the ones she has, or make more.
  54. That's what Dusk says, and he's a smart smarty friend.
  55. You really, REALLY hope that doesn't happy to your babies, they're coming soon.
  56. Your legs can barely help you waddle along..
  57.
  58. It's been more than seven light and dark times.
  59. It's hard to remember, but you're smart, you can count past four and don't even use your hooves to help.
  60. A long, long time back you lived in a warm place with food and hugs.
  61. A friend you'd seen on the other side of the fence came to play, or share a treat, something like that...
  62. Yeah... she gave you something yummy...
  63. That was Daisy, wasn't it?
  64. Then something else about treats, and some meanie fence scratching out a bit of fluff as you pulled (and she pushed) yourself out of the tiny hole.
  65. That's when bad things started.
  66. Someone called you a bad fluffy and you got lots and lots of ouchies.
  67. Ouchies all over and they still bother you, your right front leg doesn't bend well without a lot of hurting.
  68.
  69. But you want to remember happy times more than those saddies.
  70. There were happy times weren't there?
  71. Besides the babies you mean, thinking about your babies always makes you happy.
  72. There was something... warm and... a big place... a blankie... you had humans, two of them!
  73. Yes that's right!
  74. But you left them.
  75. They weren't being nice.
  76. Your friend Daisy had tasty treats, Mommy and Daddy didn't give you good food like her's so you left.
  77. That part isn't completely clear, its been a long time since then.
  78. Dusk, your smarty friend, he sometimes helps you try and remember.
  79. He says they didn't want you anymore and gave you ouchies.
  80. That gives you chest hurties for some reason.
  81. Who wouldn't want a good fluffy like you?
  82. And why didn't mommy and daddy come find you?
  83. He is the smarty friend, so he's right... right?
  84.
  85. Your pregnancy has lasted so long you can't even walk anymore, two mares are always pushing you after the herd, taking you to safe places and food, even if it's just yikky grasses.
  86. They're good fluffies, even if their fluff is too light.
  87. The babies will be here real soon, you can't wait to love them and feed them and give them the biggest hugs!
  88. That's what's important now, Dusk says so.
  89. The herd, food, and your babies.
  90.
  91. Babies! You have three of them! Three giggling, happy babies!
  92. A unicorn male you call Dizzy because he tries to chase his tail and two earthie females, Cresent and Twinkle, just like you.
  93. You've never been so happy.
  94. Despite Dusk having such important smarty work, he often helps you with cycling your babies at feeding time or telling stories.
  95. Stories about monster humans and how they take all the best food for themselves, or about when you joined his herd!
  96. You're a smart fluffy though, you remember those early days.
  97.
  98. You used to call some humans Mommy and Daddy, even though only fluffies can be a mommy or daddy.
  99. You were probably doing it just to be nice.
  100. They gave you a little food and cuddles but you wanted more, it was never enough.
  101. One day a new friend came into your life and showed you something else, a better way to live.
  102. So you left them and joined with Dusk's herd.
  103. You're much happier now.
  104.
  105. It's a strange thing... You've told yourself that story so many times you even believe it now.
  106. Remembering life this way is so much better than the chest hurties.
  107. Forgetting things doesn't come easy, unlike most of your friends.
  108. They try, but the difference between smart fluffies like you or Dusk and most of the herd is obvious.
  109. But Dusk was right again, the story made your hurties go away and you'd wanted that for a long time.
  110. Wanted it so bad that he made up a tale for you, one you could believe in if you only tried hard enough.
  111. One where Mommy and Daddy were meanies, not the kind humans they really were.
  112. Every dark time you'd repeat Dusk's story over and over.
  113. Eventually, it started to replace the truth.
  114. You don't want those memories, they're not part of your life now.
  115. The nice Mommy and Daddy can just go away forever!
  116. Thinking of them made really bad chest hurties, the worstest.
  117. You're lucky to have Dusk and your herd.
  118.
  119. You were always a smart fluffy.
  120. Mommy and Daddy told you so.
  121. But they don't matter anymore.
  122. You've grown beyond them, and now, you understand.
  123. They kept the best treats, slept on the best bedding and wouldn't let you play with their toys.
  124. If only you were their size, you'd be better than them in every way.
  125. Dusk says they're afraid of you, afraid of smart fluffies being better than humans.
  126.
  127. You've seen the proof yourself.
  128. Your own foals happy and hugging and all sleeping in one big fluff pile.
  129. Playing with each other, playing with the herd, drinking milk and sharing love.
  130. Adult fluffies working together to scare off monsters, hugging away boo boos and making more foals to keep the herd strong.
  131. That's what's fluffies do.
  132.
  133. What do humans do?
  134. They walk.
  135. Every time you see a human it's walking somewhere, never playing despite being surrounded by other humans.
  136. Never once have you seen a human do anything fun or exciting!
  137. They walk everywhere, never stopping to give love, or groom, not even to hug.
  138. Not even hugs!
  139. If they don't understand what being happy really is, how could they be better than any fluffy?
  140.
  141. So they take all the food instead, all of it.
  142. Not even a crumb left for fluffies; the only food you get is what they forget to take, didn't even want or lost by accident.
  143. If humans weren't so greedy and shared, then everyone could be happy like fluffies are.
  144. They won't do it though, Dusk says humans only care about how much food they can keep away from others.
  145. Some even have huge piles of spaghetti in their homes where no fluffy will ever find it!
  146. Isn't that super mean?
  147. Every fluffy knows spaghetti was made for fluffies, so why do humans horde IT too?
  148. That's the meanest thing of all, spaghetti is fluffy food but the humans won't give it to you.
  149. And why not?
  150. Because it'd make you happy, and humans don't like happy things.
  151. The herd got real angry when Dusk told them the truth.
  152. How DARE they?
  153. How dare they take spaghetti, a food MEANT for fluffies and eat it themselves?
  154. Every member of the herd stomped their hooves in unison that night, vowing to get their beloved spaghetti away from greedy, mean human monsters!
  155.
  156. Your babies have long since weaned, the unicorn you named Dizzy got hurt real bad by a metal monster as the herd crossed a black rock strip.
  157. Not even one bright time later, Twinkle went with some others to look for food and none of them came back.
  158. It was the worst day of your life, you couldn't stop crying.
  159. Dusk, Daisy and your daughter Crescent stayed with you all night giving hugs as you held Dizzy's twitching body.
  160. He couldn't talk but kept trying, lots of boo boo juice coming from his mouth.
  161. Some time during the dark he died.
  162. You were so sad your eyes stayed wet for the next two bright and dark times.
  163. Two of your children, gone.
  164. Dusk helped you through it like he always does, it's nice of him to spend time with you when he's so busy.
  165. He says it's because you're a smart fluffy, and he needs smart fluffies to help him run the herd.
  166. Dusk told you all sorts of things about human foods, they're so good they might have even saved little Dizzy when the monster hurt him!
  167. He's the smarty friend, he would know.
  168.
  169. The herd had to move again that night, some dog monsters found you and lots of stallions got real bad ouchies, some friends died.
  170. Even worse, another herd stole Daisy!
  171. She was too pregnant to get away and they dragged her down into the smelly water place no sane fluffy would go.
  172. It must have hurt Dusk to lose his special friend, but he didn't let it get to him even a tiny bit!
  173. Smarties must be so strong inside, something awful like that and not a single tear.
  174. You tried making him feel better.
  175. Tons of hugs, nuzzling, grooming each others fluff.
  176. One thing lead to another...
  177. You hope all the good feels means you'll be a great mother to his babies.
  178.
  179. You miss Daisy, but her fluff was far too bright.
  180. This herd needs dark colored fluffies to help them hide from monsters.
  181. Light ones have to rub lots of dirt and yuckies into their fluff and they always complain.
  182. They're just being fussy fluffies, it's not your fault they were born with bright colors.
  183. Yes, the dirt does smell and no one wants to give them hugs like that, but they HAVE to be dark.
  184. Light colored fluff attracts bad things, so it's gotta be done whether the brights like it or not.
  185. Dusk walks off with light fluffies who refuse to darken their fluff.
  186. He always comes back alone, telling the herd the bad fluffy refused to follow his rules and left.
  187. What an ungrateful, dumb fluffy they are!
  188. Always listen to the smarty friend, that's rule number one.
  189. Smarties do whats best for the herd and if you don't like it, then you should leave.
  190.
  191. The humans never make things any easier, their cat and dog monsters constantly on the lookout for a fluffy who isn't paying attention.
  192. Not only that, but there's so little food that other herds send fluffies to steal what belongs to yours, they even try to take mares away like Daisy!
  193. You don't want that, you want to stay with Dusk, the funny feel in your tummy tells you you're pregnant again and it's his babies.
  194. That's so wonderful, you owe Dusk everything.
  195. He took you away from the bad humans who mistreated you.
  196. He helped take their memory away when you didn't want it.
  197. And now he's given you babies, the best gift of all.
  198. These other herds try to raid the food pile and steal mothers like you, they're acting like bad fluffies.
  199. You'll fight to protect whats yours.
  200. And fight you do, your herd gives worst ouchies to many, even kills some to scare the rest.
  201. It's not your fault, it's the cruel humans who force fluffies to fight over their scraps and leftovers.
  202. That's the only reason fluffies ever fight.
  203. So much pain, so many hurties... if only those awful, greedy humans would stop stealing your food none of it would be necessary!
  204.
  205. The herd continues to protect it's place, but the matter Dusk keeps bringing up is the the cold time.
  206. Every fluffy knows what the cold time is.
  207. These days it's too chilly to sleep without warmth from the fluff pile, soon enough it'll be impossible to survive a night without it.
  208. A fluffy needs to be fat during the cold time, all fluffies know they need to eat a lot to get ready.
  209. It means more fighting with other herds for everything you get.
  210. Good foods are really hard to find during the cold time.
  211. We haven't found nearly enough for everyone.
  212. Dusk says we need to get human food, it tastes the best and that means its the best for fluffies.
  213. Their treats can make the whole herd fat and happy for when the cold time comes.
  214. But it's easier said than done, just asking can mean anything from a dumb human shooing you away, to a meanie one kicking you!
  215. It isn't fair, you should have the best, you're fluffies and that means you're better than everyone!
  216. Dusk says so and every member of the herd agrees.
  217. Fluffies are best.
  218. Fluffies should have the best food.
  219. They deserve it!
  220. Humans do nothing but walk and talk and steal food!
  221. They never hug or play or be happy like fluffies are.
  222. They're just mean, greedy monsters, you can finally admit that to yourself.
  223. The Mommy and Daddy you kept deep within have finally abandoned you too, and good riddance.
  224.
  225. Your chest hurties are gone.
  226.
  227. It's time to take what's yours.
  228.
  229.
  230. End part 2 - Part 3 will be learning how to get those nummies away from humans and the repercussions
