Background:
She lived a normal life in the state of Louisiana until she was seven years old. At age seven, she was kidnapped by a stranger while at the park with her mother (Kandie Meng) and twin brother (Meng Jin-seo). She and her brother were taken and "lived" with the man for nearly two years. He never did anything sexual with them, but he pretended they were his children and would torture them for speaking or doing something wrong. The two developed their own kind of sign language as well, and Jaysi now has lots of scars (physical and mental) from her experiences.

Her brother was killed eventually for becoming too rebellious, and Jaysi had to watch as he was scourged to death. She eventually escaped under the cover of night and ran back to her family, although the perp was never caught. She was changed, and less than a year later, her parents died in a car crash. This caused her to move to Korea to live with her grandfather, who died shortly after her arrival due to a heart condition. This is when her nightmares began, and she checked herself into the psych ward.
