Growing up on Cinibar Island, Aweshucks never thought he could ever be a gym leader.  He loved training and battling, but was never an extraordinary trainer. With his trusty Growlithe, he set forth to challenge the Indigo League, but never managed to finish.  When the opportunity to become a gym leader for the Pokelantis League arose, Aweshucks was finally able to be something more than another trainer. Living in Kanto, he never cared for steel or dark types, much preferring fire or water, but when he assembled his team, he fell in love with them.
