  1. >You are Anonymous the Lich
  2. >You have been transplanted through time and space into a reality that should not exist.
  3. >You are currently attending your own funeral, nearly all of Ponyville in attendance, your destroyed tower far behind you.
  4. "Oh. Hello everyone."
  5. >You fidget slightly, still hovering in the air.
  6. "Sorry I'm a little late."
  7. >The sheer weight of this oppressive silence is more stifling than the grave.
  8. >"A-.. Anon? Is.. is that really you?"
  9. "Very observant, Miss Mayor."
  10. >You descend to the ground, realizing that you're naked a moment later.
  11. "I suppose I have a lot to explain, hm?"
  12. >The fact you returned from the dead?
  13. >Possibly.
  14. >The fact that you're an artificially animate skeleton?
  15. >Most certainly.
  16. >Your final words to Twilight?
  17. >That will not be pleasant.
  18.
  19. >An hour had passed sense you rose from the grave, being grabbed at by hands of pure darkness from a void in the ground that seemed to pop from nowhere, before blasting it with a surge of pure light.
  20. >It had taken a single spell to set your tower to repair its self, the rocks floating through the air as it was reconstructed almost seamlessly.
  21. >The Funerary service, which you were told was touching, had actually taken place at the sight of the duel.
  22. >Apperantly, there was a statue of you and Molestia, long strands of stone connecting your fingers to her. >The statue of Molestia had been taken away, horrific as it was.
  23. >The strands had been rounded off, and you were left on a pedestal, as a reminder of the sacrifice you'd made.
  24. >It didn't hurt that your final moment, you stood proudly, hands held to your sides, as if ready to cast a spell.
  25. >You swing open you door as it is being rebuilt, planks coming into position even as you push it.
  26. >The shock had turned to cheers, the joyousness of their ally being returned to them over-ruling the shock at such a sight.
  27. >After all, they trusted you. You'd been the friend of the town for two years now, not always around, but eager to help when you were.
  28. >That, and your explaining of what happened put them to ease. Just a dramatic means of escape.
  29. >"I don't buy it."
  30. >You turn to Twilight, the other five ponies walking in after you as the towers staircase reconstructs its' self.
  31. "I didn't expect you to."
  32. >"Anon, when that blast hit you... I felt it. You and that, thing, disappeared. You were.. You should have been destroyed."
  33. >You would smirk if you could, but you tilt your head instead.
  34. "Sit. I have a lot to tell you all, things that I feel you are ready for."
  35. >The mane six take to a number of cushions, and you take to your own high-backed chair.
  36. "The simple truth, distorted as it is, is that I was a human, once. Many years in my past...."
  37. >And you your tail goes on. You tell them who you were. The heartless creature you had been. You tell them of your ascension, selling your mortality for power. And, most importantly, you tell them something you were hoping to avoid.
  38. "... I was never a good man in life. This didn't change in unlife. Too blinded by greed was I, that I simply disregarded other. I hurt many an individual, sometimes only for amusement. I was an evil man."
  39. >They are shocked to hear of your past. That you had been so cruel, that you had gone to such lengths for power.
  40. >Yes, they thought, it was odd that you were so different.
  41. >Never did they think you might be undead, but just another alien creature.
  42. >There was distrust, tempered only by the honesty now, and the two years you'd shared.
  43. >Fluttershy lacked this, however, and had been quiet.
  44. "Fluttershy was the first to discover. She has kept her silence, I suspect, because she did not believe any good would come from this revelation."
  45. >Fluttershy nods, gaining even more shocked reactions.
  46. >"I was worried for his safety. He had never really hurt anything, and I was afraid that panic might lead to him being hurt."
  47. >You nodded your affirmation, not adding that you would be the one doing the hurting.
  48. "I am not your enemy, girls. In fact, I would say that if nothing else, I am your friend and ally. You can trust me to sacrifice my only life to ensure your safety. I think I've proven that."
  49. >Your argument was sound. You had strong evidence in your corn-
  50. >"I.. I just don't know Anon. You're unnatural. You've even admitted to being no better than discord."
  51. >You feel a pain in your chest.
  52. >Fuck all, you forgot to make a Phylactory in all this excitement. This emotion is getting annoying.
  53. "Well."
  54. >You slowly rise.
  55. >Your friends flinch, expecting the worst.
  56. "I am sorry I have put you in a position to doubt me. I have only ever tried to gain your trust. I even abandoned studies of my most powerful spells to abide by your distaste in such methods."
  57. >You shake your head, a heaviness in your chest.
  58. >Seriously soul, go fuck yourself.
  59. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to construct a new Phylactory and seal it away before this damned pain gets worse."
  60. >Rainbow looks at you sideways, "A what?"
  61. "A soul jar. My soul is practically trying to turn my chest into lead. I do not like this feeling."
  62. >The six ponies become sheepish, making their own guesses at what you were talking about.
  63. >They had a better clue than you did, atleast.
  64. "For what it's worth, I'm not going to leave, nor shall I abandon Ponyville. I care little for your opinions of me, I promised that I would be your friends."
  65. >You begin to ascent the stairs, the stone steps sliding into position as you climb.
  66. "I feel no compulsion to allow this complication upset my earlier pledge."
  67. >You leave the Ponies to see themselves out, you're far to busy to entertain them, those ungrateful, superstitious hooligans.
  68. >So, this was what resentment felt like?
