Nen the Shrinekeeper, Conrasu. Created by the butterfly. watches over a shrine of eska. He was named by Nen when he left to explore the doomwake and given his staff as well. Nen the monk said he was unlikely to return from his journey, stating that the shrinekeeper would have more use for his belongings and by carrying on his name it would be remembered.

as the party climbs towards the old temple, they cross an ice-field of sorts, traversing snowdrifts, potential crevasse, etc. eventually they notice the lumps and mounds of snow are actually the bodies of ratfolk.

Odoro kills all "hated" races of Eska. He will stop the party, asking Custodian why he travels with a hobgoblin and an agent of ink eyes. perhaps Seizan has clouded your judgement...

When the party makes it to Sevarine an agent of ink-eyes will meet them. giving them a note that simply says "I wish to speak" with a location. at the location is a man bound to a chair, clearly frightened and afraid. his body contorts and twists, bones snapping as he howls in agony, viscous black liquid running from his eyes and mouth, which opens unnaturally wide before a voice comes from within.

The voice, clearly feminine but seemingly join in chorus, says:

* Hello, Ashadol. It has been some time. You and your friends seem to have gotten wrapped up in something far, far beyond you. This business with the blessed children of ilyre. and now you've pulled several of the great political powers within the lands into it as well. an interesting choice. Allow me to enlighten you to some degree. Grist and his allies, what they've told you about their goals, it is true. They really do seek to free the uncountable souls trapped within the doomwake. However, as is apparent by your actions, you have some objections with their methods of achieving that, correct? If We may, some advice on the matter: Offer no further aid or information to the cities you've involved. They lack the ability to make a difference and their continued involvement will only lead to their needless deaths at the hands of the blessed children. Even working together they have no hope of defeating even the weakest among them. We, however, can make that difference. We have many powerful and skilled individuals within our ranks and with your cooperation we could work together to deal with the blessed children. You ideally still an in with them, a modicum of trust. We would seek to exploit that to draw them out, in due time. However, first We would have another request of you.

The shards of masumi, a tear of eska. Quite powerful artifacts, and quite dangerous in the wrong hands. There are many who seek their power. You have collected a few of them so far, no? And We believe you have your eyes set on another. We are aware of several more individuals currently in the possession of them and would ask that you help retrieve them, that We might use them in casting down the blessed children of ilyre. You've seen their plans- the list of names. People they intend to not only murder, but then cast their souls to Geyron. What do you think those people have in common? They all hold, or held a shard of Masumi in their possession.

We believe you are familiar with an elven woman who goes by the name Arodeth Ris. She acts as the owner of a flower shop in Sevarine. She seeks the shards of Masumi. We believe you've seen Arodeth's work in that regard first hand. She killed several agents of ours in the swamps south of Larin, claiming the shard of Masumi they were transporting.

Talis and Kaelora have been captured and dominated- working for ink-eyes now.

In Sevarine:

Arodeth Ris, owner of Pavisse's Petals, a flower shop. She is also a high ranking agent for the Okeba, a criminal organization with strong ties to the Az Tori government. She is working to collect information on ink-eyes and attempt to claim any shards of masumi for Az Tor before they can fall into ink-eyes hands. She currently has the silver fragment. She is a staff magus with many plant spells

If the party approaches her shop in the morning or afternoon they enter to find her assisting an older human man with selecting flowers for his wife's birthday. She greats them with a cheerful smile and says she'll be with them in a moment, but they should feel free to look around. She'll finish helping the man, loading several potted plants as well as his bouquet into a wagon outside on the street. If the party members are paying attention they'll notice that when she re-enters she locks the door and turns the open sign around to closed. As she approaches the party, Kaala can feel the magnet-like pull of a shard. Arodeth's expression is flat, her cheerful demeanor gone entirely as she asks the party why they're here, crossing her arms.

If the party is straightforward, she will be as well, though what she can tell them is limited unless they're willing to sign contracts.

What she knows: her allies have intercepted ink-eyes communications. ink-eyes has an interest in something deep within the doomwake, and are looking for more individuals with knowledge of it. It seems they have someone  Ink-eyes also has been working to collect the fragments of masumi- Arodeth knows they have at least three fragments. She also knows Az Tor has three, including hers, but has developed a process to create "fake" fragments. They don't do anything themselves yet, but can interact with existing fragments. If they can figure out how to fully replicate the fragments they could be useful in the hands of soldiers, guards, etc. as force multipliers. Domithun is assisting them with research into replication- he has a clear interest in the shards as well and has one that he has promised to az tor if they can successfully replicate them and will allow him to use them.

Arodeth's primary goal is to collect further information on ink-eyes and their involvement with the shards, as well as recover any ink-eyes owned shards.

For the torment you have wrought upon me and our people I shall rend your soul from the feeble remains you call a body. I shall tear it asunder and cast it to the nothing beyond the stars that you might know the faintest echo of the suffering you have caused. Now die.

Vriia: Orc city built around a very old college. Primarily divine, occult, and sciences.

	ink-eyes has many plants here that are part of the occult research group doing excursions into the doomwake to study the warped souls and various studies related to soul cages and the creation of artificial souls. notably Professor Alessandra Ves, an elven woman who leads the special occult research group and is department head of occult studies. her office contains copies of all of the most important research documents.

the labs contain various experiments on soul cages.

the group is preparing for an excursion into the doomwake in an attempt to establish a forward base of sorts that they can bring captures souls to for study, since they cannot take them outside of the doomwake- as they get closer to leaving they get "heavier" until their containers can no longer be moved.

Alessandra Ves will offer the adventurers to join the expedition as guards. She had intended to contract a group from Trovain, but she recognizes them as the group who stopped Karamentonen. She has a budget of 3000 gold that they may spend on whatever preparations they deem necessary and are welcome to keep any remainder. The town itself has little beyond basic goods. There are maybe 3-4 decent magic items.

Vrothu Krudan- orc male professor of occult studies, he works under Prof Ves. His personal interest and research into understanding souls has given him near unparalleled knowledge on the subject.

Ekkethis- domithun's dead consort

The Crumbling Wall- Bolgrin's armor and shield rests against the stone wall, the stone and metal melted together. Bolgrin's spirit is trapped within the armor. If Ash approaches he will recognize him and apologize for failing to protect the city. He will tell Ash they were betrayed by Kaelora- she stopped Bolgrin and his reinforcements from joining Ash and Jorael in time.

The college sets up camp and prepares equipment for experiments.

some of the many, many spirits in the area will recognize Ashadol and attack- calling him a coward, a deserter, etc.

The college will gladly use this as an opportunity to quickly set things up so they can capture them

If Ashadol tells the college about Bolgrin they will try to capture his spirit too.
