  1. [PREPARATION]
  2. 1) Download Goldwave version 5.70, an audio editing program here - https://www.goldwave.com/release.php
  3. 2) Download the Atrac 3 audio codec files here - https://free-codecs.com/download/sony_atrac3_audio_codec.htm
  4. You will have to use the included exe installer. If you do not trust the source, do not download it. Restart computer after installing.
  5. 3) Download Dissidia DLC toolkit by agl89 here - https://github.com/adriangl/DissDlcToolkit/releases/tag/v1.1.2
  6. 4) If you want accurate loop points, also download ATRACToolReloaded version 1.27 (portable or release) - https://github.com/XyLe-GBP/ATRACTool-Reloaded/releases
  7.
  8. [CREATING FILES]
  9. 1) Open an audio file (mp3, wav) in goldwave.
  10. 2) File -> Save as -> wave (wav) type
  11. 3) There should be an additional "attributes" field below. Find the ATRAC3 at the bottom of the list. Higher bitrate = higher quality.
  12. 3B) Alternatively, use ATRACToolReloaded with instructions written at the end.
  13. 4) Open Dissidia DLC toolkit, go to "BGM Gen", click New and define a new DLC slot. Slots 1-13 are for official DLC songs, but can be replaced. Use slots 14 and up for official and modded songs to co-exist.
  14. 5) Click the "browse", toggle the file explorer to view all files instead of just at3 files. Find your saved wav file.
  15. 6) Name the title however you want, then click "Generate!"
  16. 7) The generated dlc (edat) files can be found in "ddff_dlc_toolkit_v1.1.2\dlc\[BGM][Slot __]".
  17. 8) Copy the edat files into (memstick\)PSP\GAME\ULUS10566 folder. ULUS10566 is North American version, ULES01505 is European version. If the folder does not exist, create it and name it exactly as already mentioned with all caps.
  18. 9) Go into a quick battle or versus match and find the song. DLC songs can be found either before Final Fantasy 1 songs or after Dissidia songs (Cosmos etc.)
  19.
  20. Note: (memstick) is for PPSSPP. If you are using original hardware, memstick folder will not exist and can be ignored. PSP\GAME should still be available.
  21.
  22. [LOOPING THE SONG]
  23. Method A: Highlight the song in Goldwave, press ctrl+c (copy) and then ctrl+v (paste). The song file will not be looped in the game with this method, so brute forcing a loop this way can be used as a workaround.
  24.
  25. Method B: Using ATRACToolReloaded version 1.27, load a wav file.
  26. 1) Then go to Tool (T) -> Loop point creation.
  27. 2) Check the "enable loop" box on the right. Click the asterisk (*) button next to "Set LoopEnd" at an appropriate time.
  28. 3) Click the "Set LoopStart" and "Set LoopEnd" buttons to define where and when the song loops when it's finished.
  29. 4) A new conversion setting window should pop up when you click "OK". Encoding method in the top right corner lets you adjust bitrate. Higher bitrate = higher quality. Once done, click OK.
  30. 5) Click ENCODE (WAVE to ATRAC)
  31. 6) Follow steps 4-9 in [CREATING FILES] to add the song into the game.
