  1. What counts as a hit:
  2. - Damage from any source (1 hit no matter the amount)
  3. - Getting hit or failing in any minigame:
  4. - Training/Bonus/Helm Barrels: any hit even though no damage is taken, or failure, plus these additional rules:
  5. - Batty Barrel Bandit: Missing a match
  6. - Krazy Kong Klamour: Hitting a Kong (post-victory is ok)
  7. - Peril Path Panic: Losing any fairy (post-victory is ok)
  8. - Minecart rides, Beetle races, Seal race and Car races:
  9. - Losing coins
  10. - Missing a checkpoint
  11. - Losing the race
  12. - Missing the coin requirement
  13. - Any life lost in DK Arcade and Jetpac
  14. - Failing any other timed challenge (e.g. Helm stars, any timed switch)
  15. - Failing ring/obstacle courses (Vulture, Owl, Rabbit)
  16. - Falling from a Baboon Blast course without getting the main objective
  17. - Getting spat on by the giant spider even though no damage is taken
  18. - Losing a boulder/vase/cannonball that needed to be carried somewhere
  19. - Losing a Kong in King Kut Out
  20.  
  21. Damage still counts as a hit in these scenarios:
  22. - No damage is taken because it's a bonus game
  23. - Battle arenas
  24. - Boss fights and K. Rool Battle
  25. - Damage is taken during a cutscene
  26. - Self-inflicted damage (e.g. dance skips)

  28. OPTIONAL additional rules:
  29. - Missing a gun switch
  30. - Missing a balloon shot
  31. - Missing a fairy picture
  32. - Missing a target in Cannon game or DK's Helm barrel
  33.  
  34. Additional notes:
  35. - Regular 101% completion rules
  36. - Glitchless (Maybe allow T&S skips for sanity's sake)
  37. - No Pause Exit
  38. - Minigames cannot be restarted from the pause menu
  39. - Half/full melon damage and instadeath only count as one hit
  40. - No instruments unless played on the appropriate instrument pad
  41. - Any situation where two hit conditions are met simultaneously, e.g. getting hit is the fail condition of a minigame, or losing a race while missing the coin requirement, only counts as one hit
  42. - Strong Kong is allowed
  43. - Dividing up the playthrough is allowed. Each session must end at the DK Isles warps ring.

  45. - Getting 53 vine barrel does not count as a hit, but this is not about the number of hits taken, it's about the message you send to the world that getting a 53 in vine barrel is an ok thing to do
  46. - Despite its cathartic nature, Lanky taking damage still counts as a hit
