- SormoRock has been conceived as a live
- band, believing that the best way to appreciate good music is
- going at a live concert, the idea of spending time in a studio has
- never been part of the project.
- However in 2012, after a year together, SormoRock decided to gather
- into Igor Sciavolino's studio to record a selection of their material
- and immortalize the sound they had on stage at the time, a sound that,
- as always in a true live band, had changed over the course of that year
- and was going to change again in the following months.

- The album, almost completely recorded live in the studio and also
- containing remastered versions of the 2011 Infernotti tracks, provides the listener a faithful
- account on how the band sounded at the time and an hint toward the
- live experience it can provide. It is also a must have for the Procol
- Harum fan, containing takes on popular Procol Harum songs,
- including a three verse A Whiter Shade of Pale with an astounding
- saxophone solo and a very special version of the immortal instrumental
- Repent Walpurgis.
-
- On the whole album, as at times live, is featured on saxes
- and flute the great jazz player Alfredo Ponissi, now in an unusual
- "rock mode".
- The album is available digitally on <a

- Very faithful to the original Procol Harum take on their second single,
- the SormoRock version features some lively piano from Cristina Ramat

- The classical, often overlooked, Procol Harum sea song is given a first
- live SormoRock airing during the Infernotti RoundAboutTheVoice event in
- 2011, shortly after the band got together for the first time. Alfredo Ponissi opens the
- performance with a poetry he had written many years ago while listening
