A short-term memory loss patient sets out on his journey to avenge the death of his beloved girl.
Medical student, Sunita, is driven by curiosity to study the case of Sanjay Singhania, who is afflicted with short-term memory loss. She runs into him, befriends him, and finds out that he is out to kill a seemingly benevolent citizen, Ghajini Dharmatma. After warning the latter of the impending danger, she subsequently comes across a number of diaries written by Sanjay and attempts to put together a jigsaw puzzle as to how a successful and wealthy businessman became a crazed recluse, who re-lives his past through tattoos on his body, notes and Polaroid photographs on the wall of his Hiranandani Complex flat, and his sole obsession of carrying out his deadly mission - little knowing that Ghajini and his goons are out to erase every bit of evidence he has gathered and thus ensure that he ends up remembering nothing.
After watching memento 2 years back, i was certain no movies could ever have an ending and Backward-Sequencing scenes and create such a beautiful piece of Motion picture. Memento had a budget of USD 5 million (i.e Rs.20 Crores) ,Aamir Khan was paid roughly Rs.25+Crores for the movie!! The Big QUESTION IS....FOR WHAT? The Casting is hopeless. None of them suited their roles,the romance is boring,moreover it doesn't fit into the kinda plot its being dealt with. Maybe the Indian audiences thoroughly enjoyed the film,but why don't people ask themselves what he's gonna do after he gets revenge!!!??? He gets his revenge(Every Bollywood flick ends the same way), but this time he wouldn't even remember ti so what was the use?? I was very disappointed when people called Ghajini, "a film based on the English flick Memento". All my high hopes on Aamir were shattered. Aamir didn't fit into the role!period.The old Aamir from 'Lagaan','RDB',PLEASE COME BACK!!!!
We watched the third show in UAE. Well, sadly, the movie gets you lost between two different themes. One is romantic comedy when Asin is present and another one is real Ghajini where there is lot of good action and violence. Overall the movie was good but lot of unnecessary stuff in it. Most importantly, 15 minutes memory loss, was forgotten by director from time to time. Every time the camera beeps, he is supposed to forget what happened in last 15 min. But in many scenes he continues from past 15 min.<br/><br/>Overall I was disappointed by Aamir Khan for such story. He did act well and Asin looked good with him. It was in fact, their love story from flash back was worth watching. Villain was big time gunda with so many people working for him, but in last scenes, the entire gang of the Villain had forgotten their guns which could have solved their problem of Aamir easily, that too in their own area.
