- Why did this happen?
- Hiro Fecamp, being the small teen, was helping out his family with the chores on this rainy and cold day. He wished that he could turn at least sixteen years old so be could find a job in the town itself. He felt his teeth chatter with frustration, hoping that one day he would earn a job, so he could at least raise money for his family. He knew that his parents had little to almost no money to pay the creatures, but why them and not any other humans as they were living with them, by force. He did not know that the both sides had a hatred towards one another and it still did not make any sense.
- As they were working, a very loud bang started to shake up the shack. Hiro, being afraid, hid in his room as he could see on who was coming. "Perhaps those creatures again." He thought, while continuing to gaze through the crack of the floor. The creatures that banged on the door did sound as though they needed their tax money to pay for some damage. Perhaps during the war that happened between both sides, the humans needed to pay for the damage that they caused to their homeland? The answer hopefully would come up one of these days. As Hiro continued to hide in his room, he heard one of them yelling at vid parents. "Mr and Mrs. Fencamp, this is your last warning to owe up to your tax pay. Owe up or die!" One of them said, as the mother started to shiver in fear. The father looked up at both creatures as the mother was still shivering on not knowing on what to say.
- He fell onto the floor in plead, hoping that they would understand as to why they did not pay for the past couple of weeks. "You do have to understand we have to work in order to save our home and at the same time, raise our son. We could have one or another to pay up for our place to stay. We will earn more..." The creature had enough of these tiresome excuses coming from the parents, so, without any warning, one creature used its claws to slash both parents in the heart and dark, red blood scattered all over the floor.
- The young boy, coming down in a shiver, saw that his parents, both parents were dead in front of him. He was in shock and in disbelief. He did see the creatures and thought that the were murderers and even wished that one of the parents could have explained the deal between both sides, as he did not know that the war just ended ten years ago.
- He waved goodbye to both of his parents and ran off to the streets, trying to find shelter. It was very cold and stormy, but he had to risk his life to stay away from any other creature that would pass his way. He then felt a bump on the head when running and felt a black and blue on his head and he found himself lying near a tree. He had no idea on where he was and it felt like the location was as dark as a dangerous ally. He spent a couple of months there eating from the ground and grabbing clothing from anyplace, anywhere so he could not be cold nor hungry.
- As be was there, in the same area, he heard footsteps approaching; Hiro looked both ways not knowing that it was either a human or supernatural creature. "Hey kid, you alone?" The voice sounded like a human instead sod a supernatural but, Hiro was still traumatized and his body felt paralyzed. He slowly raised his eyes wide open and it was a young man. He got up and nodded his head to answer his question. "Yes..." He murmured his answer.
- The young man took the young boy by the hand and tried to look for an area for shelter. Unfortunately, most of that places were closed, so the young man had no choice but to take him in his own home. As they got to the house, he dressed up Hiro in his own clothing which were baggy, but still were fitting his body. "Do they fit you?" The young man asked, and fixed him up some food. Hiro, looking up at the young man, nodded and ate the food.
- Hiro had many questions as to how or why these supernatural creatures were just now killing humans. But first, time to get the person's name. "Sir, what's your name?" Hiro asked, raising up an eyebrow. The young man turned around and looked up at the small boy. "Tadashi, and what's yours, my fine young lad?" He asked, with a coming out to shake his. Hiro, looking up at the young man, slowly took out his hand to shake his. "Hiro, Hiro Fecamp." He responded, shaking the older guy's hand. Hiro, while eating, looked up at him as he seemed very trustworthy.
- Several months later, Tadashi and Hiro became brothers as be decided on his own to adopt Hiro as his younger sibling. Although going through the adoption process was a difficult one, Tadashi's determination came into play as be wanted Hiro to be safe.
- One day, when being inside their new home, Hiro looked up at Tadashi, being ready to ask that question, regarding the recent killings. "Tadashi, my parents got killed months ago by these creatures who claimed to hate our kind. My family did not pay on time since we were a poor family and from what I heard from my room, we had to pay them money for taxes or some sort. Would you know why?"
- Tadashi, hearing the question and brief story, drew out a long sigh and put an arm around the lad. "Well, when I was your age, I was asking my parents the same question when the Supernatural came pounding on our door. We were receiving the same demand since our family was poor too. I was even working around the town just to help out. Luckily, no one in the family got killed. But, during that last meeting with my parents and supernatural, we had to wait until they left so, we could sit down and they had to explain the deal between the two sides." He then drew out another sigh as he was ready to tell the small boy a small story regarding his ancestors that were part of the war that lasted for ten years and it just ended a hundred years ago. "My parents told me that there was a hatred between the humans and supernatural for centuries. No one knew what happened that caused the battle except for now, they are claiming that us humans are slaves. My ancestors were involved in the battle and they lost. We do not know which creature killed them though."
- Hiro, hearing all of this, did get a flashback to the killing of his parents from them, and he looked up at him, thinking that this war thing was strange, but cool that the supernatural had a war. "Why can't both sides have peace and that way, both sides can put their differences aside. Honestly, I think meeting one would be cool though. I only saw them briefly and thought that look wise, thought that they were pretty awesome to look at." He said, with a bit of nativity in his voice. Tadashi, shook his head in disgust, knowing that he would need to protect him from getting hurt. Hiro got up as he was looking outside; "C'mon Tadashi, let's put this aside now that I got your answer and see what Pemberely is up to!" He exclaimed, grabbing his hand. Tadashi, feeling his hand being grabbed, sighed as feet tried to catch up with Hiro's. He did remember the days when he ran this fast.
- As soon as they got into town, both brothers heard that there was going to be peace between both sides that will hopefully come into place. Hiro, gulped and shivered, was having hope that this was going to be true and was up for the idea. At the same time, he had that thought of his dead parents being in blood and was nervous of him or Tadashi getting killed. Tadashi's thoughts about this made him sigh with disbelief, and raised an eyebrow in suspicion. "Why doing this now instead of when the war just ended ten years ago?" He thought to himself. Although he currently had a job in the town, he needed to make sure that Hiro was safe. "Stay with me, Hiro. I will protect you as its my duty to not have you die." He whispered in his ear. Hiro, hearing that, rolled his eyes, but the thought came once again and hugged him. "Yes, dear brother." He whispered back and looked over the horizon, hoping that there was not going to be any conflict.
