18:36] He favored his side, His ribs seemed to be broken but the cyclying occultism through his body had begun to revigorated his mutuant cells enough to begin recovering. He thrashed himself into the cave hideout where he remained for a time exaiminng it before turning his gaze towards Rune.

"I can only speak for myself but I am disappointed in my weakeness. I have learned nothing and become only a punching bag for those who are stronger, and yet I do not know how I can surpass my limitations." He then shrugged shaking his head.

"If I am going to achieve my goals I will need to become stronger than I am now, and learn more of this place, Thus I've been considering joining Pauper. To learn how to truly harness Occultism at its highest degree." he idled for a moment holding his side still hurting from the bruising. Although he gave some silence for his words to sink in.

"The Shadowmire stands no chance against both Asphodel Pauper and eventually Osrona to finish off any who remain." He looked back towards the Dullahan and sighed.

"I don't expect you to follow me, But I hope you at the very least consider my words. Pauper is soon going to expand, by joining their ranks we can climb to higher standings than we are now." After all Pauper was a city of undeath and depravity. Two monsters would fit in perfectly amongst their ranks. After all Nakara had wanted to get stronger. The biggest question however was how?

[18:47] Rune understood what Nakara was saying and why, they had reached that point in the road and up till this point Rune's life had been nothing but despair due to falling into a deep sleep and missing his entire youth. He awoke to climb to power fast but not fast enough and not enough power. Rigs was King of Shadowmire but there wasn't much leading or rather benefiting attributes given to them for fighting and dying for Shadowmire. He use to believe Nyx placed them there to protect the closest entrance to the Spirit Realm from man and maybe that was the case but it seemed true Shadowmire Denizens were a thing of the past that many still clinged too such as Rune himself.

He wondered though, would Pauper take in Mutant or would they just kill them for even trying? He wondered if Nakara had any thoughts to that matter or if he even considered that.

"That is a lot of risk don't you think? What if they just kill you once you get there? Wouldthey really let us join there ranks and if they did would it be as slaves?"

Rune had thought about this all infact as well, he wanted long life, everlasting life and to someday have a shot to learn necromancy would be something he just could not pass up, he had heard word that the Lich Nidaz ran the place but he was still uncertain.

[18:54] It was true Nakara hadn't considered all the options of what their life would be in Pauper, but he could only imagine it would be better than dying for a cause he held nothing for. "I know not what or how they'll treat us, All I can say for certain is that we have a chance to survive. The bloodlust of vampires and Undead thralls. If I have to serve under someone stronger for a while I don't mind."

Although the term slave did bring some discomfort he would fit the mold of whatever role he was given. After all Nakara was only 14 his potneial still could've been snuffed out before he even gotten to his prime.

Having been defeated so easily and readily by a boy his age only furthered his diversion. "Rigs and the others are strong, yet they have no sense of unity or goal. I desire to see what Nidaz plans to do and if he accepts us or not is his discretion. But if that doesn't work out I suppose i'll be a mercenary for hire..." He still had many more ideas but he couldn't do anything about them now.

"What I truly want though? Is the secret Nidaz holds. If we can harvest that knowledge for our own intentions eventually we will be able to move on our own. We can only try after all."

[19:02] Rune wanted the same thing and knew exactly what Nakara was talking about. He couldn't walk away from the war however as much as he wanted too, to much of hi life was put into it and now it was his time to at least claim a few vampires lives before his own was snuffed out.

He never really thought about what he would do if Shadowmire fell, he would be forced into the darkness of caves and trees. He would find a way to forge a path for himself somehow.

"I understand why you would do that though, there isn't much going for Shadowmire."

He had to make his choice now, it was one he could not turn back from...he truly only cared about immortality and only one man he knows of has found it.

"Im at the end of my life, there is only one thing that can give it purpose and that is to find youth again or immortality. Do we have much choice? I say we try to see how it fairs for us while we still can, lead the way Nakara."

[19:08] Nakara looked around seeing as they were surrounded by lots of undead, He for the first time seemed immensely afraid.

[19:10] Rune kept his cool, he knew the undead would likely not attack unless commanded. Truth be told he wasnt sure if they could take them all even with Rune's sheer power behind each swing. He just stood idle and awaited for the master of the castle to arrive.

[19:20] Rune would take notice of Nidaz, he heard much but this was the first time he would see him in person. The undead that surrounded them would back off at the sign of their master. Rune would take a knee as a sign of respect as Nidaz at his throne. He looked over too Nakara to see how they would proceed, this was his first time in this area and he found it delightful, the style and the many undead.

"..." Rune kept silent and left what beginning words they had too Nakara.

[19:21] Suddenly a phasntalam pressure crushed in his shoulders almost bringing him to his knee, Immediately he was submissive, What will or desire he had to fight was entirely snuffed out of him, leaving nothing more than a stripped teenager.

His violet eyes could barely look their way and yet he continued to affirm his gaze, Each time building more and more courage until he could finally speak. "Great Overlord, I am Nakara, a mutant spawn of the void. I've come only to have arrive in the Shadowmire and see the indescribable uselessness that they possess. No army, No military's, No chain of command. they bring nothing to their defenses of their demise besides a few well developed brutes."

The young child seemed far more learned than most mutants, Perhaps something of his background yet it seemed for whatever reason he was struggling to stand before Nidaz, even speaking seemed a little suffocating. "I want more for my life than to die over a mound of rotted trees and twisted groves, I care not to die for nyx and her whispers, I fight only for the void and my own soul. Thus." He took a knee now.

"I wish to pledge myself to you, In hopes that I can become a researcher here and expand the knowledge of this world. I wish to learn more, become more, than just a vile creature. I'm only 14 and don't have much to offer in the ways of fighting just yet...but I will become stronger if I'm allowed to join your ranks and become your apprentice." It was perhaps a little audacious of him to come in with such bold claims and offers but if one would look deeper they would only see a dirty teenage mutuant who had no where else to belong to.

[19:35] The situation related to the prisoners was not in the Lich's interest, as now those who would take care of them were Hina and Sibyl - therefore, he would return to the throne room.. Until his gaze fell on two unknown figures, as he entered there.

"Who allowed them entry?" It would be the first thing the Overlord would question as he walked past them and while looking at his servants and also others present - as expected, however before these who bowed before him and their words..

He would take the time and listen, taking some steps backwards towards the black throne, in order to sat down. Etheric flames would glow brightly as the entity's presence spread.

"Someone else who wants to join us, fascinating - but not every monster in those lands breaks free of its bonds, the last one we offered a hand only offended me with his actions.

What guarantees you will be any different? Also, what do you seek to learn. Speak." An authoritative voice was provided by the Lich, in spectral tones that echoed in the minds of everyone present.

And now he would wait for the answer to the question, while facing the mutant from the Void. Something he didn't comment on, especially considering he wasn't so sure about it.

[19:42] The simple rise and fall of her shoulders, told of Jacq's response to the Lich's query. She didn't know who'd let the two of them into the Mort Donjon, she lacked even the keys to the front door of the place.

It was only through the occasional raising of the bar that kept the gate shut that allowed her entry at times. That and when she'd been taken in by the few who'd had access at anytime of the day.

[19:45] Listening to Nidaz's words there was a flash to a memory or two of someone being exectued by Rigs who had seemingly fled to Pauper yet that seemed to be all Nakara remembered during their awakening.

When it was asked if he would offend them Nakara had nothing they could say to retort given he didn't know the circumstances but when asked what he desired to learn he immediately rose up. "I've only heard rumors and whispers of those in the Mire, But I desire the power to call the void. As you could have guessed I am truly not from there but...I have a calling towards it."

He raised his head if only to meet the emerald embers of the ArcLitch eyes. "I'm unsure of the name, But someone called it Riftmaking, A way to teleport a great deal beyond. Although I'm sure that is a bastardized version of the true forbidden art that is all I was able to find out about." He then lowered his head after speaking leaving the rest to Rune to plead their case as well.

[19:45] Rune was simply fascinated that Nidaz achieved Lichom and stood before them as an immortal, something he could only dream of. He wondered how it felt having that much power knowing age had to grip on you.


Truly amazing.

Rune decided to speak up finally, he knew many from Shadowmire and could see quite a lot shaming those they would swear loyalty too but Rune and Nakara were cut from a different clothe which is exactly what brought them here.

"If I may.." Rune stood up for a moment talking a few steps closer to be heard more clearly.


"Shadowmire is a sacred place we call home don't get me wrong however, there is nothing beneficial for us there. There was never an order of leadership aside from someone saying they are King. There is no order or drive nor plan for their future. Its denizens are not the same, I do not care to proceed with them any longer. Walking through those doors I know once I decided this there would be no turning back. Im not going to offend or make you regret the action if you accept us. I can say in time you will not be disappointed we would make fine additions."

Rune wanted to be in a place he was motivated to become more then what he was and he knew he would go the distance given the right environment.

"Ill fight for you..Ill prove myself however I can."

IT was a fork in the road they came too and they made their choices.

[19:46] Arawn would snicker while scanning the new faces. He would remove a small phial of blood, manipulating it, the boy would write in the air.

"Your door is unlocked Mister Nidaz"

[19:48] Dearil would just shrug and nod. "Aye, I think your acolyte in Pauper is just rifting up anyone who asks today." Pointing a thumb to the door, "Want me T'get out?"

[19:57] Not only was the door open, but the apprentice was opening rifts for anyone? Someone was going to lose their head sooner or later if it went on like this.

Truly..

Regardless, this time they would both be talking - one about how sacred those lands were and about the problems it had, the other about what he wanted to learn about, this being riftmancy and also more from the Void. But something was clear, both wanted to serve.

But of course that would not happen easily.

"Well, with all that in mind - by what means do you two want to prove your loyalty to me? You know, I'm tired of traitors and people who can't understand how it all works.

Therefore, if you wish to serve me - you will have to first prove your trust to me.." A pause, he would cross his arms and then shake his head, "So right now, we give both the moment to think and put your creativity into functionality - let's go, give me means that both can prove how helpful and loyal each one is – to my cause." Now the word was addressed to them – allowing the two to decide.

It was time to see how far they are willing to go.

He wanted it to be something that would truly let him know and believe what they were saying because he was fully committed, there was no going back ever and it was this or nothing so he would put everything out there and brainstorm for a means to make it known.

"Give me any task and I shall preform it without question even if it should be against those I use to call kin. I turned away from that and I wont ever turn back. Nothing is off the table, for when I say ill fight for you I mean it. I wish to climb your ranks and kill on your command, you are a Lich. The only one worthy for me to say I will serve is you. I shall serve as your Death Knight..no longer tied to Nyx should you have me. Name the task and I shall preform."

[20:04] He gulped at the words of the Lich, still he pondered just what exactly he could offer at this stage in his life, he'd not become much of a fighter due to his lack of proper training, Going out and capturing someone was out of the question for him at this point.

So instead he'd offer something else, "I could offer you and item blessed by the void once I am strong enough to procure one." He said in a rather timid voice although there was some growing courage beyond his words.

"I am not very powerful just yet, so instead if you desire to experiment on a mutant you may use me to whatever ends you desire. Until I can procure you a more fresh sample from the Mirefolk." He knew that loyalty was one of the hardest things to prove, and right now he'd be in a difficult position to do so on just a whim but if he had to offer his life and his own body to serve he would. Even if he would eventually have to hunt down his own kind.

[20:05] Jacq Delisle whispers something.
[20:07] The words once displayed in front of him now float away, turning into dancing lines of crimson, going around the Death Knight's helmet.

"May I say something Mister Nidaz?" the boy asks while snickering at his own magic.

[20:15] Hearing words in her mind, the younger Vanreth on the corner of the room adjusted her posture, leaning away from the wall as she stared at the two in front of the Lich.

"Yes, yes, we heard a lot of those over the years," a pause, remembering the last mutant who joined recently.

"You do not have that item as we speak, you are promising something you aren't even sure you will get, however..." a brow rose in curiosity, before more words left her mouth.

"Bringing one of your own here is a very good option to prove your loyalty, in a way. Considering you *are* already betraying them, what proves you won't betray us?"

A reasonable question, at her eyes, once a traitor - perhaps always a traitor.

"But for now, I think the offer of bringing someone is more than welcome," her eyes glance to the Lich, "Unless father has anything about it, it would be a good thing to make yourself known as Warriors of Pauper now, instead of the mire."

Her offer was made, arms crossed now.

[20:21] Nodding his head firmly in the direction of his daughter, the undead would gesture to them both. A more than adequate task, which both could complete.

"That will do, bring me a guinea pig! Anyone will do, but preferably one of the beings from your land - it will make it all the more believable.

Here it is.. Now, work." By adding such words, instructions were given.

Now it was up to them to complete such a task.

[20:26] Well it was settled, Gwen was right however..it proved only a little seeing as they would have to betray their kind to make this happen but was it really betraying? There was nothing they really devoted themselves to there anyways. They weren't among the blood cult and kind of just forged their own paths which led them here.

"Very well, we shall return with one of our own to prove ourselves too you. As I said we will do anything and everything to make it known we are serious."

He left it at that, they had work to do. This was a shift in their stories and one they would make sure took root. It was time to truly separate themselves from Shadowmire and all those they knew because it was a new beginning for them.

"Nakara, lets make haste. I wish to produce results sooner than later."

[20:27] An insidious grin sprawled across the face of the mutant, If that's all it took was to bring the Overlord a sample it was an easier task than they had first imagined. Although it would take careful time and planning. With Nakara's crafty nature and Rune's brawn they figured it would be a simple enough task.

"As you command Overlord it shall be done." He gestured towards Rune so that they may soon take their leave and begin plotting their next course of action. Although his gaze did fall towards Gwendoline offering her a charming smile, Her words being lead by his own to a masterful effect.

In truth this was always what Nakara had planned. What better resource to harvest occultism from than the very own mire folk themselves. Turning on them would be a simple task, and eventually they would fall into becoming his prey."Yes let us begin our search. But first I need to arm myself." He claimed.

Of course there were other matters to discuss as well. But he'd leave that until after they had cleared the Grand Fort.

[20:29] Nakara says, "I can't believe we survived...I suppose it went as best as we could imagine."

[21:11] Rune Cloven asks, "You know how to get here right?"

[21:12] Rune Cloven says, "IT will be of major use to us I feel like."

[21:32] They left the fortress and traveled through all the caves of Esshar in-search of proper material for a Mythril staff so Nakara would be well equip.IT took days but they finally arrived back in Shadowmire with the material and the forging began. The room was hot as the forge blazed, it would be there last weapon forged in Shadowmire as they moved onto a new road. The staff took a few hours but before he knew it, the staff was complete. It was called the Staff of Void. It would still need to be enchanted and Rune would do that the moment he reached the peak of his energy.

"Here take this, ill enchant it very soon. Now onto the next part of our mission which we shall discuss elsewhere."

The boy would feel quite saddened for being forgotten again by his brother, as take notice of the people nearby, but he decides to just ignore them.
