  15. Waking up in a new world is not a thing one would generally expect, no matter how much they enjoy entertaining the idea, but it can be a pleasant thing.
  16.
  17. Waking up in a setting that they're not particularly a fan of, and only know the broadest strokes of, is an entirely different statement altogether.
  18.
  19. Taking stock of the situation and realizing that you're apparently being considered as a teenage runaway by Officer Jenny who wants to ask a number of pointed questions... well, that just compounds the feelings brought on by realizing that you're in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a bunch of mutant animals for company. And a very silly hat. And three balls, and a handful of other things but not much else... except the ability to understand the mutant animals around me.
  20.
  21. (What do you do to a pokemon trainer with three balls? Walk him and pitch to the giraffe.)
  22.
  23. In any event, finding out that I've got an electric mouse who's got a rather sharp wit definitely makes things better. I think Pikachu is a pretty cool guy, eh pokes a man and doesn't afraid of anything. ...Okay, yeah, that was bad, but it got a snort out of him at least. So that's it then - just dropped into a new world. I mean, it's really not that bad a place, when you come down to it, it's just... different. Though being somewhere with everyone I know left behind... my life is going to be completely different.
  24.
  25. And the whole "wanted for being a runaway" thing is really a pain in the neck, let me tell you. I ran away from the police a few times, before I decided to get things set - Pikachu left in a safe place with a friend I'd met (Misty's surprisingly friendly) and I turned myself in. Apparently instead of wanting to get me back home, though, the judge decided this warranted jail. Without a release date. And they're not going to bother to call my supposed parents, I'm just going to be there until they transfer me out to some sort of labor camp. It was not a thing I exactly favored, I admit, but at least justice moves quickly around here.
  26.
  27. I only feel a little bad about escaping. Not super bad, just a little. I mean, Officer Jenny ended up in a cell... but I left the keys for her, so it's not THAT bad, right? Maybe I shouldn't have stolen that kiss before I ran. I mean, she started pursuing me a lot more actively after that, and for some reason it was ALWAYS Officer Jenny. I mean, I know it's a generic term people use for critter-assisted officers, but this was the same one. Every time. Sometimes she had help, but usually it was just her and her Growlithe.
  28.
  29. There was plenty of other stuff I did - Misty was a little irate at me for taking three days instead of what I expected to just be a couple hours, and it took me a week to catch up with her and her crew (Ash is confirmed to be the most clueless dork ever, by the way) but ... well, eventually I was forgiven. It probably helped that Pikachu jumped into my shoulder immediately.
  30.
  31. Honestly... as much as I might favor my old life over this, I think this would be a life worth living. Aside from, you know, constantly having to run from Officer Jenny. For ten years. And watching her pull increasingly convoluted plans to try and get me. That Madame X ruse of hers was a clever one, though, I will admit.
  32.
  33. Wait, what do you mean that wasn't her in control?
  34.
  35. Oh, man, that's just creepy.
