  79. Bio:
  80. If asked, Gaspar would call himself a "simple courtier from Abbi lands". Gaspar's job, officially at least, is to sit around Prince Aliberti's court and look exotic. Unofficially, he provides an outsider's perspective to the Prince on recent goings-on and gives common sense advice when the court finds its head in the clouds. Of course, as a foreigner, his word doesn't usually weigh very much, so he hides his advice behind insults and comedy directed at those most in need of it. Nobody likes being called out for their misjudgements in public, but the Prince secretly appreciates the wisdom. If nobody dared to tell him when he is wrong, how would he know?
  81.
  82. Outside of court, Gaspar appears far more serious and gloomy than one would believe from the comedy act. He is often found doing scholarly work in the study or meditating in the gardens, and in both cases he has little patience for interruptions. There are rumours that even that is an act, rumours that are indeed true. In private Gaspar is quite thoughtful, compassionate and willing to listen to both sides of an argument before responding. The layered lies weigh on his heart, but he knows they are necessary to do his work as best he can. They also help him hide his faith in the Old Ways, even as he denounces them in public and professes to following the Cult of the Creator.
  83.
  84. Not many know where Gaspar came from. As far as most of the court knows, he just appeared one day, apparently invited. In truth, he came to fulfil his father's oath from years ago. Emperor Artak-Satra II had saved his father's life in a war long past, and he had promised to repay the favour in any way he can. The Emperor had nothing to ask of a simple peasant, so the matter was left floating. Gaspar's father had told Gaspar of this duty and taught him the importance of repaying debts, but was ultimately unable to do so after dying in a bandit raid. Duty-bound, Gaspar traveled to Zorestria and insisted on joining the court. The Emperor had neither time nor need for him so he dismissed him to his son instead. At first the Prince only humored him, but soon enough Gaspar proved his value and the rest is history.
