  1. The 21/12/2012 mistake is a tricky one to explain; even without the Gregorian calendar, that particular point in 'time' would be the same. The prediction for it was not one which predicted a point on our own calendar. Look at it this way. Imagine a long piece of string, with a mark at the beginning to represent the beginning of the cycle which the Mayans knew of (point A) and another mark at the end being the point in 'time' which they calculated to be 'ascension' (point B ).
  2.
  3. Now along the entire length of that string, we apply any notion of a calendar whatsoever, be it Gregorian or otherwise. Different types of calendar will have a different name (date) assigned to point B. Regardless of whether the Gregorian one calls it 21/12/2012, or unaltered calendars deem it to be a different date, that point B remains in the same place, the same distance from point A. The mayans at no point stated or predicted the 'date/number' 21/12/2012. It's a nice number for it to fall on but in fact it matters not what date we apply to that point in 'time'.
  4.
  5. This prediction by the Mayans was not based on how many solar 'days' passed from a to b, it was a -mathematical- calculation, and so it matters not that western calendars were adjusted and altered. It was an observation of mathematical cycles. It's worth noting that the Mayans had several calendars. Their solar one (similar to how we measure days through the rising/setting of the sun) was not used to predict this '21/12/2012' event. Their mathematical calendar predicted it.
  6.
  7. Our calendar is based around our revolving around our sun. This ascension predicted by the Mayans (and others before them) was based on a process that spans our entire universe; far beyond the activity and apparent illusion of time stemming from the rising and setting of the sun as seen from earth.
  8.
  9. Another issue is that, due to such vast amounts of mis/disinfo, many of us assumed that some instantaneous and in-your-face event would occur. The whole point that is so often missed is that it was a prediction of the ending of one age (universal cycle) and the beginning of another. An age is not instantaneous, and so when people expected some huge unmistakeable shift to occur, it is little wonder they were disappointed. Look around the world, indeed it is still suffering greatly, but compare how it is to 10/20 years ago, so much has begun to shift towards the disestablishment of the establishment.
  10.
  11. We are experiencing that shift progressively. That is what the Mayans knew was to come. Whatever 'date' was assigned to the peak time is irrelevant, the universal cycle does not correspond to our messed up calendar, instead it corresponds to mathematical and energetic processes that are present and active completely seperate to the illusion of time as we percieve it :-)
