  1. The Demon walked out to the place of solace and peace.
  2.
  3. Last defeat in the battle wasn't exactly playing the good role on Murmux's mind. Considering the fact that it had seen itself so much superior, so much grown, and yet to be defeated by some magi? No, that much was almost humiliating. Something must be done.
  4.
  5. One of the techniques of commanding various insects, of course. That was the first thing that came to insectoid's mind - with that, it was quick to command the insects through telepathy in order to force them to come out from hiding beneath its chitin. After all, they could use better coordination, perhaps further empowerment through the magic of Occult, or perhaps even further growth.
  6.
  7. Gazing down upon its small creations, the Demon commanded them through telepathy.
  8.
  9. 'Gather. Swarm. Be ready. Attack.'
  10.
  11. The Demon knew very well that insects were only capable of basic understanding, but that was enough; there were no complex commands behind its telepathic message, and on top of the words, several images and ideas were implanted in the minds of insects.
  12.
  13. Among them, to protect their master and attack any enemy that they come across.
  14. (Murmux)
  15.
  16. It wouldn't be an appropriate training of such insects without further infusing them without the Occultic energies, however.
  17.
  18. After all, they were defeated in the last combat alongside Murmux, which already meant that they needed heavy improvement of their combat abilities. With that, Murmux had rested the entire swarm before itself, if only to channel its Occultic energy towards them en masse.
  19.
  20. That caused rabid reactions, of course.
  21.
  22. Some of the bugs were dying off, some were actually becoming empowered by it, while some would almost go insane- prompting Murmux to finish them off on spot with a gust of wind, slicing the bug in half.
  23.
  24. But why would the Demon do this? That's to weed out the weak ones, to allow only the strongest of the insects survive, thus ensuring that only powerful insects would serve it in the future.
  25.
  26. 'Attack Kin. Slay weak.'
  27.
  28. Those insects that were slowly falling to the Occultic energy of the Kaor were mercilessly slain by their own kin- while the Demon was feeding them Occultic energy that it processed, and the mana of countless magi it feasted upon, it also was practising in commanding them through telepathy.
  29.
  30. 'Devour weak.'
  31. (Murmux)
  32.
  33. It was among the last messages that the bugs received.
  34.
  35. Entire swarm had gone almost mad, greater insects jumping on the smaller ones, if only to devour them viciously and feed on the mana that they possessed within- essentially, Murmux had ordered them to weed out the weaker ones, and only leave the stronger species that were capable of carrying out the Demon's will.
  36.
  37. 'Listen.'
  38.
  39. And suddenly, the bugs turned their attention to Murmux, once the devouring process was finally done. The telepathic link of the Demon never ceased to exist, constantly upholding it so that it may command the insects; after all, if the overgrown insectoid wished to truly command this part of the nature, it needed to establish clear dominance.
  40.
  41. 'Build colony. Breed. Obey.'
  42.
  43. Much like the overlord of the small army infront of the insectoid, the bugs were immediately dispersed to begin building a small colony- they were a united hive-mind, no longer different species of predatory insects, spiders, and others. Instead, they all acted by Demon's will.
  44.
  45. While Murmux had been overseeing them, they were to build it.
  46. (Murmux)
  47.
  48. The entire time that they were building the colony, Demon stood nearby, feeding them the Occultic energy from its own body.
  49.
  50. All to grow the perfect minions in the future.
  51.
  52. But while doing so, the insectoid was on the look out for any species that fail to survive the Occultic influence and still fall to their death. Everytime that happened, there was a small frown that appeared on its facial expression, clearly disappointed and disapproving of such thing.
  53.
  54. But with that, there was a single command given.
  55.
  56. 'Devour.'
  57.
  58. And it didn't take long until the fallen insect was devoured by its brothers and sisters. Survival of the fittest was the rule for this Demon, and those that failed to grow accordingly to its plans were quickly disposed of.
  59.
  60. There was still a batch left of unoccupied bugs, however. Why? To keep practising with commanding them. The telepathic link never ceased to keep working, sending messages, images and words, oneafter another.
  61.
  62. 'Observe. Fly above. Devour weak.'
  63.
  64. Step by step, the colony was rising.
  65. (Murmux)
  66.
  67. The entire time that they were building the colony, Demon stood nearby, feeding them the Occultic energy from its own body.
  68.
  69. All to grow the perfect minions in the future.
  70.
  71. But while doing so, the insectoid was on the look out for any species that fail to survive the Occultic influence and still fall to their death. Everytime that happened, there was a small frown that appeared on its facial expression, clearly disappointed and disapproving of such thing.
  72.
  73. But with that, there was a single command given.
  74.
  75. 'Devour.'
  76.
  77. And it didn't take long until the fallen insect was devoured by its brothers and sisters. Survival of the fittest was the rule for this Demon, and those that failed to grow accordingly to its plans were quickly disposed of.
  78.
  79. There was still a batch left of unoccupied bugs, however. Why? To keep practising with commanding them. The telepathic link never ceased to keep working, sending messages, images and words, oneafter another.
  80.
  81. 'Observe. Fly above. Devour weak.'
  82.
  83. Step by step, the colony was rising.
  84. (Murmux)
  85.
  86. But that was enough.
  87.
  88. The colony, or rather, most essential parts of it were already built- Demon recognized as much, and decided to leave the small portion of the insects so that they could breed, feast and further develop themselves.
  89.
  90. No doubt, with time, they would experience mutations as well.
  91.
  92. Majority of the bugs were retrieved back so that Murmux could continue practising with their command, be it on the battlefield or in its daily life. The rest, that were left here, in the colony? So that Murmux could get back to it later on and harvest their development, perhaps cross-breed the bugs once more, and command to devour the weaker ones.
  93.
  94. Until then, the mission of large insectoid was done. With that, a single command was given to the bugs that it intended to take with itself during their adventure, the prodding message in their minds crawling with telepathic wave.
  95.
  96. 'Retreat. Back to me.'
  97.
  98. A large, Occultic swarm of overgrown bugs had moved back to Murmux. It was quite a progress, that's certain, but it was far from the final stage of what this Demon had foreseen.
  99.
  100. With time, they shall be the true monstrosity in its arsenal.
  101. (Murmux)
