- >Hiking in the woods on your day off, one of the few luxuries you have left.
- >Trying to take the road less traveled this time.
- >Enter a small clearing populated by a bunch of fluffy ponies.
- >They might be stray, feral, or possibly both.
- >It takes them a moment to realize that they have a guest.
- >They then panic and begin running away from you.
- >A pregnant mare is struggling to get away from you, but she can barely move without help from the other fluffies.
- >At one time her coat might have been lime green. It’s hard to tell due to how filthy she is.
- >You pick her up and follow the other fluffy ponies as they try to get away from you.
- >Sometimes they forget why they were running and start grazing again until your shadow falls over them or they hear the pregnant mare screaming.
- >Eventually you are led to where a whole herd of them has gathered underneath a very old tree.
- >There are about twenty-five of them.
- >The smarty friend, an azure Pegasus pony, faces you.
- >A midnight blue unicorn is at its side.
- >”Pwease no huwt mamma fwuff. If wan’ huwt, huwt me an’ pwease go,” the smarty friend says.
- >You clean out your ears.
- >A virtuous smarty friend? Does not compute.
- >”One more time?” you ask.
- >”No huwt mamma fwuff. No huwt fwends. Huwt me den go, munsta.”
- >Some of the quicker fluffies realize what’s going on and beg you not to hurt their smarty friend, but the midnight blue sidekick orders them to be quiet.
- >”You realize that won’t work on every monster, right?”
- >”Den huwt me too an’ pwease go!” the midnight blue unicorn exclaims.
- >”Relax. I just figured I’d bring this one back. Your herd needs to be a bit more careful.”
- >You set down the pregnant mare.
- >Two other fluffies immediately come up to her, press themselves up against her side, and help her get underneath the tree to safety.
- >”No huwt fwends?” the azure Pegasus pony asks.
- >”Nope,” you say as you toss two apples and an orange from your backpack at the smarty friend so that they have something to eat.
- >”Dank oou,” the smarty friend says hesitantly.
- >You nod and leave them where you found them.
- >You mark where this has occurred with your phone.
- >When you get home, you call your uncle.
- >He’s a farmer and he sells the excellent fertilizer fluffy ponies have no problem producing.
- >You tell him about what you discovered and he says he could always use a few more fluffies, particularly those that aren’t full of themselves since he sometimes has to get rid of them since they cause trouble for the whole pack.
- >You take a day off work and go back into the woods with a large box.
- >The fluffies are no longer under the tree.
- >You can’t find them anywhere.
- >Perhaps they took your advice.
- >Wherever they are, you hope that they are okay.
