  3. The position is based out of our Austin office and will report into the Senior Director of product development in Atlanta.
  4. We're looking for the following qualities in the manager:

  6. * Must have strong technical abilities to help make intelligent product architecture decisions in concert with product architects
  7. * Must have the ability to "raise" the overall level of the team by mentoring, coaching and hiring
  8. * Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management in both technical and business functions, developing strong relationships, and defining clear service level agreements
  9. * Needs to have a passion for delivering software using the agile methodology
  10. * Needs to have a passion for engineering practices like TDD and Continuous Integration
  11.  
  12. Responsibilities Include:
  13. * Ownership of product development taken up at the Austin location and release planning
  14. * Balancing of team's priorities between sustaining and forward development activities
  15. * Interviewing,  hiring and training employees, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems
  16.  
  17. Education:
  18. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related four year degree is a plus
  19.  
  20. Experience
  21. Requires a minimum of 10 years of software development experience and a minimum of 5 years of management experience (the combined experience can be 10 years).
