- Xerves: <*Stalks in the distance*>
- Airion eyed the Yokai, the young lad seems indifferent about its presence.
- "Tehw sgnorb auy irih?" Airion asked this, keeping his focus on Xerves.
- (Airion)
- The seemingly lesser Yokai simply stared back, silent and crouched-- Ready to pounce yet not daring to approach with looming Viridian forces nearby. It was hungry, aggressive and in some cases outright mindless, but maintained an adopted sense of ferality that earned him a lifesaving trait in this scenario: Fear. Fear prevented him charge for the boy, for their were guardians among him, but hunger lead him close, just standing on the distant horizon with a gleaming pair of sanguine eyes peering back him.
- A low grumble from its figure rattled from its gullet, but nothing more...
- It dared for his defiant approach, for his decision to part from the Viridian numbers around the gate, to allow it the chance to sink teeth into the boy.
- One could assume the beast was simply foolish, due to its rather young state; Albeit, some features throughout its physicality such as over-stressed muscularity defied such assumptions to the common personage. Perhaps, it was just a mild detailing to disregard? Perhaps more fodder for a practitioning magi? It was all up for Airion to decide...
- (Xerves)
- Airion continued to stare at Xerves, it offered no real reply to Airion's question, perhaps Airion gave the creature too much credit, did it understand the Sarradian tongue?
- This alone piqued the young Sarrradian's curiosity, resulting in Airion to take a few subtle steps forward.. one leg after the next as to not startle the creature.
- With one hand, Airion moved it into its respective pocket only to rummage around for a few seconds before sliding his hand back out, an apple in hand in which Airion held out towards the Yokai; Albeit at a distance.
- "Ud auy tnew to?" Airion said this calmly only to pause afterwards.. speaking once more a few seconds after, "Do you want it?" Airion added on.. speaking two tongues.
- (Airion)
- Airion continued to approach, yet, not in the clear just yet-- At this rate, it seemed the boy approached to close the distance simply to hand over an apple. Though, the apple was none of Xerves' concern--
- Rather, success in this hunt; He proceeded to predatory tactics. Slowly, Xerves backpedaled, attempting to earn Airion's continued wandering in his direction, further breaking the distance from Viridian Watch boundaries.
- The bait was casted in the form of a lesser Yokai playing coy, attempting to strike the curiousity of a young boy whom lacked knowledge of their true and former nature.
- (Xerves)
- The Yokai advanced back, was it shy... was it scared? Either way Airion stopped in his tracks to move his left hand up and over his left shoulder, reaching for the wooden staff only to pluck it from its restraints and promptly remove it.. laying it carefully on the ground.
- With that done, Airion hoped to show a sign of no 'hostility' as he resumed his walk towards Xerves; Albeit slowly and carefully.
- The apple still held in his right hand and offered out to the Yokai.. Airion's left hand moved to his front as well.. just stationing itself there.
- (Airion)
- By now, Xerves idled in wait, this time meters away truly aiming to draw supreme distance from the Viridian guards that'd sought to kill him on sight under Nostvallen law. The boy carrying the apple was not once disregarded, simply awaited, silently. With passing minutes, it was obvious that Xerves wasn't intending on approaching further, no matter the scenario at hand, leaving the boy to take the initiative or give up in his efforts.
- Regardless in the endeavor, Xerves antsed about, apparently growing impatient with the lack of motive to test his hunger with his presence.
- A bark resounded from its gullet, sounding moreoff like a grunt-- He was beckoning at the child, attempting to taunt him with the limited functions he had in his arsenal. A lack of intellect left him incapable of finding more effective ways, and thus, he could only wait on the borderline of Viridian patrol lines.
- Would the boy follow up, and witness first hand the consequences of approaching a Yokai directly in the wilderness? Or would he continue to reside in the kill zone, and lose Xerves' interest...
- (Xerves)
- Airion continued on, his eyes peeled and focused soley on the Yokai... the object of his curiosity.
- The young Sarradian may be doing something 'stupid' but the young lad didn't care, he didn't see the Yokai as something to be feared.. they were something to learn from..
- By now the young lad is at the edge of the so called determined 'kill zone'.
- (Airion)
- And with distance grown from patrolling guards he had the the luck of not confronting, there came opportunity!
- Though, there was always the chance that they could take notice, he felt the need to take advantage of what he could. The beast lunged with a quick swipe over for Airion's chest, attempting to quickly dispatch without former warning aside from his growls.
- It seemed the boy walked right into Xerves' trap; Yokai, especially of this stage were typically aggressive, hungering not for flesh or commoner's substenance, but the mana circuit that ran through the bodies of all living entities- Especially stygian figures such as fellow Yokai and Occultists.
- Immediately after the former strike, he leaped backwards somebit, clutching at a leg, or outlying appendage he could drag away, hoping to simply pull away from any hopes of intervention from a Viridian Knight that could've witnessed should the scuffle sustain so close to Nostvallen walls. The only intent at this point was to keep from earning the attention of the swarms of guards that would hunt him down, and execute him, whilst taking up an attempt to feast on human circuit!
- Airion was far from likely to be child's play to this attempt, more than capable of resisting if not retaliating nigh immediately at the coming of such strife.
- (Xerves)
- Airion had his left hand out to his front, palm facing in Xerves's direction... held at the waist while Airion's right hand held the apple outwards.. up near his right breast..
- The strike abrupt strike from the Yokai got met with Airion's jerk reaction to shoot out wind from his already pre-placed left hand, out from the palm and towards Xerves.
- If the torrent of wind were to hit the Yokai, it'd only offer a slightly knockback due to how much time Airion had to 'channel' or 'charge' the spell... resulting in a baby version of its true capabilitys.
- Needless to say, the abrupt strike from Xerves startled the young Sarradian, forcing him backwards into a stumble as to be opened up for more strikes as the young lad landed flat on his bottom... still holding the apple out to the Yokai, seemingly indifferent.. perhaps Airion thought the Yokai to be misunderstood.
- (Airion)
- Orphe gave sigh, chnging his mind. Instead deciding to travel through the darkening cavern of Trystle. His hand held out, a faint light foilling it. Enough to light his way through the cavern. Faint it was. A tendril of occultic energy though he knew not what it was. Was used to help him see. His despir being used to alight the hand.
- As a warmth flooded his being, feeding off his emotion of despair. He ignored the cries of various Yokai, the dirt clgging his feet, mud sticking to his shoe's. s he reached an exit. Stepping into the light, and walking from the cavern. Frail form, visible as he wandered near a city. The small hild coming upon a familiar older kid.
- Wassn't he a witness to the two men being killed. He sighed, stating "Hn." Looking at him. Tilting his head. Falling silent.
- (Orphe)
- A blast of torrential winds blitzed the lesser Yokai, sending it spiralling backwards and toiled against the grasslands, forced further away from the Viridian Watch-line, though it granted him an initial disadvantage, the overall effect granted further guarantee of liberty to combat to his heart's content, until the deed he so designed was committed to thoroughly.
- Though, the display of power was likely insignificant compared to what the magi was completely capable of, the lesser Yokai was less than convinced of an overwhelming threat, leading to the solid ground it stood.
- The guttural murmur from its form, evolving into a lowly whine comparable to even swine stature. Fingers were flayed to reveal metallic claws, and prepped figure, lowered to retaliate given the moment's notice.
- (Xerves)
- Airion was succeful in dettering the Yokai's strike by blasting some wind.. forcing the Yokai back only to have Airion moved up and forward. The apple got dropped from his right hand as to reposition his right hand near his belly button, holding it outwards with his palm open and towards the Yokai.
- Without much time wasted, Airion channeled some mana into either hand, preparing the multitude of spells by simply channeling mana into his hands..
- Airion took notice of the claws and other features of the Yokai, which prompted the young Sarradian to be cautious.. moreso on the defensive than on the offensive.
- (Airion)
- Airion offered one final blast of wind, which in turn got recieved by Xerves.. this blast forced Xerves back.. Airion didn't follow up on another strike, allowing the Yokai to regain its barings for the fight to continue.
- Even to a Yokai, Airion fought honorably.
- (Airion)
- Orphe, simply watched the fight. It seemed the older child from earlier was fighting a Yoki. How interesting, he sighed. An interested glimmer in his monochrome eyes, aside from the usual despair within them.
- (Orphe)
- Unbeknownst to the boy, though he managed to beat Xerves back, he did not severely damage the Yokai, but rather irritate it. The strikes upon its form, -did- scathe him, but not to any point of true severity. He may've been in only the first stage of life, but one emotion stayed true to even the most trivial of all forms of life: Anger. To be battered and tested in the heat of combat had left him peeved beyond typical standards; As he stood once more, he dared not charge, for an essence from within quaked at the very earth the duo stood upon.
- It was minor and shortlived, hardly over a second's worth due to the insignificant potence that could be harbinged with its finite reserves of mana. Maws were left agape, unveiling the tormented cry for the heavens-- A screech that devolved into a bassful growl, pinching at the inviting ears that idled in its wake, taunting the threshold they could bare.
- Open claws were clenched into fists, and legs parted for a fortified stance. The cry was not a call dragged onward, likely to beckon the attention of those, even miles away. It was that, of a lesser Yokai's roar; Though, something was evidently different about this one. Veins pulsated upon the surface of its exaggerated muscularity, boistering muscles not only boasted physical capabilities that far exceeded its typical human counterpart, but a supplemental source of vitality granted from the tough hide.
- A fluxation in the powers was imminent, as shown by the shifting of the enviornment. A generated breeze, as light as it may be, defied the aeromancy casted about by Airion, blasting back from none other than... A Lesser Yokai? The roar paused for only a second's notice, only to prolong with an excelling pitch in volume, cascading an effect upon the ground it stood upon!
- The soils shattered akin to glass, granted no further mercy by the pronged toes that stung into the broken earth.
- Halos of dust crawled from the Yokai's feet, to sweep over to Airion, a byproduct to its means to power up a surge of Occult energies. An explosion of lavender hues, potent, unlikely to lesser kindred spiked from the pores of the seemingly lesser class Yokai, potent and flickering in its mockery of pyromancy. This was a display of adept Occultism, an anamoly to all Yokai in this stage.
- Head veins were stressed into view, complemented only by the bulging over other physical features. Though, such was unlikely to be the fullest extent of its power, as shown by the crumbling soil that rapidly extended for the vast expansion of soils, challenging even the powers of experienced Occultist practiced magi;
- This, was Xerves: A Super-Yokai.
- (Xerves)
- Blasts of energy bombarded upon the scene, summoning domes of stygian energy that erupted from the earth's surface on contact, uprooting chunks of soil and scattering what remnants rested into a powdry dust that hovered through the air, reducing visibility to nigh zero. Though, even in the midst of all the craters, throughout the clouds of dust, Airion was never safe from the Yokai beast that lied within.
- A shadow propeled from the clouds to tackle the boy, but aeromancy buffeted him aside, leaving him lost midst the battlefield. The direction of the battle seemed to be in his favor, considering the demolition of the field and damage amounting upon his opponent.
- The whining cry seemed to resonate through the airs once more, and the beast closed the distance to engage in close quarters. A slash was parried by a blade's swing, and a weaving motion to evade the blade's wrath earned him the opportunity to headbutt Airion some feet away.
- By now, Airion was relinquished from the shrouding auburn fog, leaving Xerves to charge from its midst, intercepted with a blast of air, invisible to his gaze, and repelling him back into the depths of the dust cloud...
- A loud wet smack was complemented by the beast's grunt...
- Reason to assume his defeat was sound, though, one could never confirm their suspicions before the fog was to clear...
- ...And soon, it did...
- Within the center of a crater, stood the lesser, arms draped to its sides, bloodied with the ebony fluids that was his own; The Yokai was far too injured in his state to continue onward, leaving Airion with the opportunity to finish it off before it could reco-
- The beast seemed to shudder, in fear? Every twitch, cringe and shift was involuntary, accompanied with the gurgle of its puny form.
- The whines and cries it made prior were reduced to whimpering, placed under immense strain and struggle--
- The physicality was exaggerated to its limitations, literally tearing at the seems. He began to bloat in muscularity, exceeding what was typically casual for Yokai to bare. It didn't seem as though the live consumption of circuits were granting him to change one would expect, but rather the accumulation of energy thus far-- Practically manifesting within its figure, and only acting up now.
- It seems that the battle with a stygian figure had granted the Yokai the push it needed to excel to its peak, breaking it to achieve new heights: Evolution. This time, rather than unleashing a wave of energy to expand into an explosive dome, the body tore away, finally combusting into a fine black mist, a mere prelude to the earth prying dome of energy that engulfed at his surroundings, further deepening his crater and threatening to capture even Airion in the process.
- Reality for those at this scene, would phase to an opaque sheet of white-- Seemingly damned to silence, and strengthened by the ambiance of gales in flight...
- The light began to subside, granting perception to a silhouette that stood in place of Xerves:
- Standing nothing shy of thirteen feet tall, in comparison to a mere five feet prior, the now-Giga Class Yokai stood with a paid of condescending sanguine beads, glaring down upon the child. Before, it was incapable of speech... But now?
- Lips shifted, and strenuously, he spoke-
- "Puny... Human..." He mustered from behind clenched teeth, evidently irritated, "...I.... Hate... You... Scoundrels..." He took but a single step forth, this time surrendering the will to speak with his lips. It was far too irritating, too tiring, too stressful to condone in this stage. He took up the practice of telepathic communication on a public channel, speaking dis-synchronized to his lips directly into the minds of all that passed on by.
- Due to the method of such, it was less than comforting to the likes of human kindred, though perfected beyond that of Megai capabilities, far less grating than a lesser form could provide.
- (Xerves)
- Xerves: <*Telepathy*> Your kind is good for nothing but food for my evolution and fuel for my goals.
- Orphe, gave a startled look. What was happening? What the lacrity before his eyes. Craters formed, the yokai was wailing. It dashed forwards, narrowly missing an attack by a flash of blade. Whisking through the air. Within the centre of the crater, its planative whines and cries seemed to fde to whimpering. Agonized and somewhat perpetuated by shuddering as if from fear, or another emotion.
- Before it seemed to bloat! Fading upwards in a burst of black fogged mist. Thickening and huskily floating as it seemed to solidify. The crater widening underneath, breaking even more, cracking under the vast expedure of Occultic energy, though he knew it naught as such. The flickering dark sheen of light along his hand, turned more brighter. Becoming somewhat convelasced, not weakened. But strengthening by the sheer presence of the newly formeing Gigai.
- The boy, gave a stumble foreward, blinded briefly by an onset of white, edging closer to the battle. His face, empty, and his monochrome eyes, filled with despair. Hope gone, abscenced as if faded. Nothing but sadness within their depths. Wheezing at the sensation of pulsing and flowing Occultism, the small stumbled blind, slowly regaining his sight, rapidly blinking at his eyes.
- As he could feel it, insidious whispering. Occultism, briefly wafting off his form. Like breathable wisps floating. Weak and faded, not tangible or usable by the child just yet. ees, now devoid of the white blanketing his vision with one lst blink. He spoke, the faintest trace of occultism seeping into his tone, iving it a lower insidious vocal quality.."Well. Now that my eyes are undimmed, I can clearly see it. The darkness. Ah..it pulsates. How joyous."
- The child, tilted his head, watching the situation, nodding at the Yokai from earlier, he had spoken with, who randomly walked away without greeting him. Who unbeknowest to the boy had facilitated his ability with Occultic energy. Weak as it was now. But hopefully it would grow stronger, and the youth could stop feeling despair and a muted hollowness inside.
- (Orphe)
- Airion watch on as the transformation took place, amazing, splendid, superb, Airion couldn’t find much words to describe how ‘cool’ it seemed.. well it would be cool if it wasn’t versing him.
- The young lad raised both his hands up again.. hoping to hold them to his front with his palms open and facing the Yokai who buffeted up and grew.. gaining almost more than its previous height.
- ".. You can talk?" Airion muttered out, obviously worn out from the whole battle.. hopefully Orphe would help the poor lad.
- (Airion)
- Orphe gave a slight sigh. His woder at the transformation, having faded. However the sense of occultism hung. Wafting into the air. Thick and nauseating. Looking to the other and more older kid, Orphe simply stated coldly. "Your worn out. Tsk, you wouldn't survive like I do, alone. You must be weak. You sicken me."
- Crossing his arms, he gaze towards the Yokai, ignoring Airion. He was done talking with him, now. Looking to the tall 13 feet yokai, he stated in a flat monotonous drawl. "I'm not like the rest. I know the truth of despair and agony. So please don't lump me with the weaklings around us. Like that fool."
- (Orphe)
- Airion's defeat prior earned him the hefty foot of Xerves, dropping him to the earthen soil and threatening to crush him with the shattering of rock and dirt, pressing him hard into the ground. The pronged toes were spread out enough to allow flailing arms, but positioning pinned weapon use from Airion's smaller person, leaving im incapable to defend himself any longer. He was officially incapacitated, and damned to the fate of consumption when--
- Another voice, defiant of his presence spoke out...
- A much younger child, easier pickings spoke, sounding cold and riddled with Occultism. Though, a potent source of Occultism could be feared by Yokai kindred, it was typically means to attract them, whether it'd be attention? enthrallment, or consumption.
- A grumble drawled on in his undertone; Two pairs of vermillion pupils locked unto the young child, and rather than acknowledgement via speech, he merely lifted his foot from the fallen Airion, scraping his elongated talons through the earth to rake him into his grasp, clutching him strong and firmly to prevent any hopes of escape whilst he sustained active grip.
- "You are a fool to approach me, child..."" He spoke out telepathically, closing the distance with a slow stride. The earth quaked with every step of encroachment, every thud irked a towering shadow to cast over the young Occultist.
- "I said... You humans are nothing more but fodder to me.. Fuel and Thralls, and nothing more. Your history against my kind is not forgotten. Even now, your people sought to slaughter my own; Which grants me no reason to spare you for anything aside from a snack." He boomed, now standing over the boy, with Airion still in his left hand--
- Greedy for more, his right, empty one opened up, extending to catch the boy in his grasp should he fail to retaliate if not flee.
- Though, not all was set in stone...
- (Xerves)
- Viktor's eyes were wide with a mix of surprise and slight horror. There before his eyes, right outside of the gates of Nostvale was a creature he has never laid eyes on before until this very moment---a Yokai. He had heard about them, was warned to be wary of them, and now he staring at one while it's foot was planted on top of a young child.
- "Hey! Back off of the boy!" the teenager bellowed. He wasn't sure just how strong the Yokai is, or if he'd be able to actually do anything against it to save the boy, but he was sure as hell going to give it his best shot.
- Utilizing his emotions to fuel his magic, his right hand extended, facing the monstrosity. An eerie, dark substance enveloped his arm and then shot towards the Yokai, attempting to harm it and garner it's attention.
- "BACK OFF!" he yelled once again after the 'warning' shot.
- (Viktor Kurteys)
- Orphe gave a light twisting of his lips. The young boys eye's, monochromic as they were widened, at the sound of another sticking up for him. Why? Why? Why?! He couldn't understand why a person woul come to his defense, he didn't have that before. Never, he scowled. Clothing rustling as he shifted. Slightly backing up, yet not fleeing.
- Mouth parting slightly the young boy, gave a hiss. The telepathic message violent hammering into his skull. Pulsting like a migraine. As the Gigai lumbered towards him, he gave twich the loudness of the noise making the sensation of the migraine more prominant as he moaned, in distress.
- Occultism, wafted like smoke. Dark and repugnant. The taste of it hung, rancid. As if filth was atop the roof of his mouth. He spat, stating in a tone carrying within it. noxius remnants of ocultism His tone filled with a heaviness, stagnated and rich with pervaded darkness. His frail form tense. " I understand, where your anger comes from. I really do. Because of everyone, I am just filled with Despair. It never fades. My heart is empty, heavy and devoid of other emotions. Save despair, and maybe anger. I think I hate everyone else? His tone whilst tainted with occultism, seemed empty? and Questioning.
- Lifeless, and found wanting, broken. Going by how he looked, and his empty eyes. He seemed akin to a doll. Occultic energy increasing from a flickering upon his palm, to something more substained. He gave a low siblant chucke, yet it seemed wrong. Fragmanted and more akinned to cracked gurgling noises as if he'd never laughed before.
- He could hear it, the whisper's. He could feel it, insidious and dark tones resonation, murmuring. Muted and quiet, yet vile. Everyone and everything is the enemy, o' child. Everything save Yokai's are to be slaughtered. This world is not enough. Seize it. Seize it o' master. Someone with your destiny, is far greater then anything. Give into us more. We the darkness demand you give in!
- The whispers, left over remnants of Anduriels power, grew stroger, bolstered by the approaching Gigai, and facilitated by his own awakening of Darkness, starting to once more insidiously whisper invisibly into his ear. Spreading occultism through his being. Under his skin, through his pores. As a shroud formed tendrils billowing, outwards. Monochromic eyes looked to the Yokai, as if enthralled. The whisper's having made the child more welcoming to his power and sheer vastness.
- (Orphe)
- A distraction? No, an interception... Someone was attempting to garner his attention and succeeded--
- Xerves was less than appeased, to imagine a mere human teenager would dare to challenge his hulking stature. He didn't see physicality on him that could dare compare to his own ability, nor did he believe his magic could be challenged by some random arrival.
- It was an unprecedented appearance, and one rewarded only with the atmosphere rattling roar of his new goliath state, rupturing the air with aerial ripples that muddied perception within close proximity. The prime of his focus, was none of ther than Viktor--
- Though, one may've proven oblivious as to the intent of his roar, for it was not that of his previous sort--
- No, something was different; It carried more bass, and could not solely be heard, but felt.
- Soon, it was met with the responding symphony of fleeting Yokai of lesser kindred, flooding to his feet. Hardly over a dozen to swarm at those he had taken attempted hostage of--
- Though, they were not intent on consuming them--
- Every single one of them geared the epitome of their attention towards Viktor...
- But of course, there was the matter of another... One whom defied the very expectations of things, alienated the common logic of reality, and took a presence of authority within the form of a mere five year old boy, likely still unable to partake in something as trivial as enrolement into the Pheonix Academy, simply due to age.
- The sight was the equivalence to witnessing a lesser Yokai speak, enough to leave eyes upon him until he finished his speech. It broke the immersion one once had to charge in after Viktor, left all motive to wither away--
- Rather, attention settled upon Orphe; The speech that rang from such a youthful individual was that of a man's own, completely unnatural for a child that should be learning elementary tier mannerism.
- The age of such a child alone was enough to leave one with a sense of hilarity, merely five and venturing the wilderness alone--
- To think he spoke of surviving on his own implied that he existed without aid from an even younger age, breaking what logic amassed within a intellectual Yokai being.
- Now, in the wake of an older personage, likely less willing to wander up to him, bur rather flee until captured, Xerves was likely to consider the idea of a thrall to his will...
- But this simply didn't seem like anything he could possibly benefit from...
- A mere five year old that left him questioning the legitimacy of reality? It was more capable of a snack than comrade.
- Thus, it shown--
- If Viktor still felt inclined to protect the anamoly of the dark tainted child from a Yokai within intent of shedding mercy on the feeble-bodied and minded, he would come face to face with the Gigai once more.
- (Xerves)
- Viktor's hand jerked towards his ears, shielding them from the trembling roar emanating from the Yokai. It was the kind of sound that didn't just shake your body, but reached out to your very soul, staining it with doubt and fear. Should he really be doing this? This was clearly out of his league, and to be quite frank, if he left the kids to die, no one would know but the Yokai and himself.
- ...But then what would that mean? It'd forever label him as a coward. Which was fine, if he wasn't aspiring to be part of the Viridian Legion. With trembling hands, Viktor reached into his back pocket and brought out his dagger. He was going to stand his ground, as frightened as he was, and defend the children against this bea---
- ...Wait a second. He could have sworn there was only -one- of them, when did three others arrive?! Holy shit!
- "Not good," the teenager mumbled under his breath. His dagger is promptly unsheathed and pointed at the largest Yokai of the bunch---the ringleader. Regardless of the potential outcome, and however foolish his mindset may be right now, Viktor charged.
- (Viktor Kurteys)
- Orphe, sent out a wave of oocultism, at the various Yokai, swarming at his form. Occultism, fading from his voice. As he spoke "Get..away.." in a more simpler tone. Less manly. Unconciously he was using ocultism to tak more maturally, even if he was unaware of doing so. He wouldn't be able to repeat the feat anytime soon.
- Across the ground, occultic energy flared, deadening the landscape. Wilting everything in sight. As he attepted to evade the Yokai's, stepping back. Form uncontrollably, sending out burst of occultic energy at the swarming menaces.
- (Orphe)
- The monstrosity slammed fists about, swatting away at the attacking humans he sought to subjugate under his volition, for his consumption, for his growth. With his summoned Yokai kindred, enthralled to his will, latched to him thanks to his beckoning call, dying for a mission unspoken.
- Within the scuffle, Airion was abandoned via a launch off to the sides-- An accident on Xerves' behalf, thanks to the two that seemed determined to interupted his endeavor. On that day, the child's life had been spared, for two others were waged in his place. He had the power to run now, try for help, save himself, or continue a battle he'd be more than likely to lose his life in...
- Regardless, he could not stop what was unfolding as of the moment, not in his current condition.
- "Now, Now... Now..." He spoke telepathically, slashing out his right arm to grasp hold of Orphe in the midst of the battle.
- "It's about time I put this idiotic conflict to rest." He crushed at the child's body, leaving it laden betwixt his meaty fingers, stressing muscle and bone to test the popping sensation of his internal organs and structure--
- The pressure jolted to such magnitude to ensure incapacitation, released in the form of a throw.
- The throw, launched the boy as a projectile weapon, aimed for none other than his once- attempted savior. The impact would land the swordsman unto the soil, where an attempt to recover would be defied with the landing of a pouncing Gigai, smashing his legs beneath his pronged feet. The agonizing cries that may've made it to his ears was nothing but soothing, entertaining to his likes.
- He sought out for substenance, yet plagued by the urge to destroy, to decimate, to induce suffering upon those he dreaded most-- These personages earned his hatred with their mere image: Humanoids- Whether they'd be Human, Drakanite, Sarradian, it mattered not, unless they were Malpercians.
- "Time to chow..." He stated, backpedalling from the duo of fallen warriors, forgetting of the third whom was likely to take flight at his own free will. The hiatus granted, was utilized with great thought, ponderance on the worth of these two...
- Food? Thralls? The decision was to be made... Thus, a waiting game was underway, and the sake of the two was now dependant on one's carnal urge and choice.
- (Xerves)
- Down he went. Viktor thought that he had a slim chance against the creature, but to be quite honest, he had none. It took a great deal of effort just to stop the Yokai's minions, and he doubt that any of his attacks had any actual effects on the Ringmaster. He groaned, flashing back to a year and a half ago---the time when he embarked on the adventure to becoming a member of the Viridian Legion.
- He was instated as a Squire, not quite in the legion, but at the same time, he had a chance of joining it if he proved himself. It was more of a servant job than anything really, but with a lot more benefits.
- Fast forward. He was stronger, faster, and could wield magic at his fingertips like any novice could. There was still much more to be done, but he wasn't the same weak boy as before. He was now 'average'. Viktor wanted to now prove himself to Marshal Sirius that he was ready to join the Legion, that he had something to offer to the military faction.
- ...Now he wouldn't be able to. Such a sad fate. To think, he didn't even get to make up with Shar either. Was this really going to be how his life ended? Being eaten alive by the hands of a Yokai? Damn. Life is a bitch.
- (Viktor Kurteys)
- Ophe was punted by various Yokai, gripped by a thickned hand/claw appenage, and squeezed. Before being tossed severl feet away. Flying through the air, he thought back on the fight. How he had ineffectiely used Ocultic energy trying to ward off the Yokai, ddging the big one's gigantic fist.
- For it to fail, as he was sent into the ground. Claws tearing at his form, before he was picked, and squeezed, feeling his thin frail ribs crack. At least three. Incapacitating him, as he was thrown.
- Landing upon the ground, arm underneath him at an agle, having broken and snapped from the force of impact as he rolled, hacking out blood. Pain submersing his form. Wracking it, as he attempted to stand, blood seeping from various slash mars, his white shirt ripped.
- Three ribs poking through his skin. One arm dangling bent and useless. Clearly broken. As he turned attempting to run away. Wounded, and hopefully able to find someone willing to heal him. This hurt, lt. It almost made him cry.

- The two were paired up, juxtaposed for quality, for worth, for the center of his interest... And unfortunately for the brave Viridian Knight, his strife earned him Xerves' approach. A large meaty hand reached down raking at the soils to rip him up into his grasp, turning him over to face the Gigai directly.
- He merely glared, caring not for his stature, his role, his job-- It mean't nothing to him. All that mattered was that he attempted to strike upon his form, and failed, and now he was to pay the price. The Occultist child whom he dove into conflict to save, was ultimately spared by this man. The choice was seemingly made, solely on a whilm of the beast-- To him, the quality of human life mean't nothing more but a burden to him and his kindred.
- "Your kind..." He spoke telepathically,"Gaze upon Yokai as fresh game, as mere fodder to test your blades." He growled, "Your kind..." He continued, "Look down upon Yokai, as beasts, as pets, as slaves... And in every city, village, and camp upon this forsaken land, they are vanquished for sport, for entertainment... In the name of... What you foolish spawn call, 'Glory for Kraus'." He bared pressure down to induce suffering.
- "THERE IS NO GLORY IN DEATH!" He shouted vocally at point-blank, shifting his eyes for a mere moment's time to catch glimpse of Ophe. The slightest of squirms from his person, whether it'd be actual or fabricated by the infuriated Gigai, were challenged with the slam of a foot unto the boy's right leg, crushing it into the earthen soil, and spawning a spray of blood that left no chance of permeance for the limb: An amputation of the right leg, complete and utterly.
- The beast had no remorse for those whom would dare challenge, or omit his presence, his statements and proclaimations. To hunt for prey was one thing, but to be attacked, to be approached with such inane causes? It earned hostility without regard to their personal well-being.
- "But your sort wouldn't know this... Praising your pathetic gods, Kraus, Azreal... You fall to knees to pray to what you call, gods..." He paused, turning for the empty skies, gazing upon nothing but the azure hues above. "Where are they?" He queried, shifting his eyes down unto his captive, within the palm of his hand. "WHERE ARE YOUR GODS!" A distinct vermillion glow emanated from the pits of his clenched fingers, portraying the siphoning of vitality from the teenager's figure, indulging the Gigai in his essence.
- "You both are but fools to approach me. To defy me... A mere child, and an idiotic boy." He commented, "But moreoff, an idiotic teenager whom took prayer to the wrong entity... You.." He directed a glare of prejudice unto Viktor Kurteys.
- "You.... Should have prayed to -me-." He finished, widening his gargantuan maws to leave tunnel to the ebony gullet. The teenager was lifted to the opening, allowed a clear glance upon the reflective teeth...
- It was the beginning... Of the end. As he was slowly pushed into the mouth, swathed with a sleek and hot, wet tongue, the departing fingers led way to only a concluding action of the figure in limelight. Maws propelled for one another as a body rested betwixt their walls, resulting in a loud, final-
- SNAP
- The splatter of blood seemed to ooze through the air in slow motion... And like that, the truama, the shock, the pain, all oozed simultaniously... The scuffle was over...
- Xerves had claimed his first victim in the jaws of death. The other two? Were lucky--
- Airion was spared, left without so much more but bruises and scratches, whilst Orphe lived with a single leg remaining.
- As for the final... He died, saving two lives... His permeance in history, would depend on those whom survived this scuffle...
- All of which, left behind with the exception of one chewed and swallowed down one's expansive gullet.

- Orphe, gave a scream of pain. Pressure, so much weight placed atop his right leg, immediately flattening and tearing away the limb. Ripping it from his pelvic area, bone and all. In a sray of blood. He lay trapped, blood oozing and flowing like a torrent. Struggling to breathe. Occultic energy fading, as he hacked coughing.
- Blood staining his form, leaking from the puncture wounds bonegleam sticking out. Claw marks allowing blood to well and dribble all along his body. A stainingtrail of blood remained where is leg once lay, admist pulp and bits of powdered bone dust littering the grass.
- The last thing, the young child, heard was the sound of something snapping. Blood splattering, across the sky, the other hild, swallowed by a gargantuan maw. Most likely devoured and consumed. His face turned pale, almost blue in contrast to his normal skin colouring, as he fell back, head of white hair.
- Stained and filled with bloodied flecks from the aerial spray of Viktor's blood. Monochromic eyes closing. Despair given away to agony and utter horror. At the situation, is final thoughts being 'I don't want to die! Someone, anything, help me...Please.'
- Orphe's eyes fully closed, as he fell unconcious, blood seeping from his grievious wounded and missing leg area. A puddle of blood forming underneath the child, from dripping blood due to to his frame having various slashes from which it leaked.
