- [*]Brief Backstory: A long time ago, a coastal girl was turned into a vampire somewhere in England. Being capable of passing for a young man, and quite correctly realising that she couldn't hang around, she moved along, eventually getting pressganged into serving as a sailor, where her increased strength proved to be rather useful, both for personal reasons and the job's general demands. It's also why she was one of the first Europeans to actually venture to the far east.
- Keeping to long-term missions to avoid issues related to settling down and the lack of ageing, Elizabeth kept broadly abreast of affairs away from the hotbed of European politics, along with finally picking up literacy and proper numeracy (though far too late to actually work out when she was born). With one foot in the supernatural, it perhaps wasn't wholly surprising that the vampire became aware of mages sneaking into a supposedly sealed country. Curiosity got the better of her--along with a desire to do something exciting--and she found her own way in, getting to witness the start of the White Night.
- Keeping to the seas for the Age of Sail, Elizabeth nevertheless took time to show up whenever the ritual was happening, keeping an eye on it and gradually concluding that someone would have to make sure that the power being fought for never went to someone that would use it for ill--or, better, would use it at all. Rather appreciating freedom, the vampire had no desire to see anyone effectively turn the world into their puppet.
- Changing times eventually forced a change of career, but she kept finding a way back to keep an eye on--and occasionally interfere with--the ritual. In modern times, with vehicles finally becoming fast enough to present something over her own ability, Elizabeth chose to take up racing. From the perspective of a vampire, it's almost a risk-free sport... aside from needing to not do too well so the public eye doesn't focus on you.
- With the ritual happening once again, Elizabeth set about taking a break, moving important things (like something to drive) to the city, and refreshing her slightly-rusty combat skills. If this one was going to decide things, she definitely had to be ready.
