  1. finally a donation goal that isn't a food meme
  2.
  3. in 2018 i'm planning on adding some more games to my speedrunning repertoire! this includes Pokemon Red and Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal which will need me to use the Game Boy Player instead of my SGB2.
  4.
  5. i recently upgraded my snes, nes, and n64 to use RGB instead of composite, and i've just purchased a 1-chip snes to replace the super famicom i currently use for speedruns. this will mean a massive quality improvement for the game feed of my stream.
  6.
  7. i also would like to play more games casually next year and maybe not participate in quite as many marathons as i did this year lol, i miss having free time :P i'd like to branch out into more ps1 and ps2 games as i missed those consoles growing up.
  8.
  9. so ideally i'd like long-term for my other consoles to match the quality of my nes/snes/n64 as close as possible! especially if i want to start using them regularly. i am looking to get RGB cables for my ps1, and also plan on completely replacing my s-video setup with component. so this would mean my nes, snes, n64, and ps1 will be on my RGB setup, and my gamecube, wii, and ps2 will be on a component setup. the problem is that some component equipment is hella expensive, especially after i just dropped a ton on RGB.
  10.
  11. (keeping ps1 and ps2 as RGB is better quality and also some ps1 games don't co-operate with ps2 as nicely as i'd like)
  12.
  13.
  14.
  15. these are the pieces i'm currently missing, i'm going with proper quality stuff this time around as it's a bigger deal to do so than it was with composite:
  16.
  17. component switch: $45 (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B001TK9SEE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_rpTRzb51CX1M9)
  18.
  19. component splitter: $120 (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000NK75HI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_jQURzbY4J8D2P)
  20.
  21. gamecube component cables: $300 (seriously, look at ebay and amazon)
  22.
  23. ps2 component cables: $70 (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000MIXFWA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_eRURzbA9TWM63)
  24.
  25. total: $535
  26.
  27. i already own component wii cables as i plan to keep SMRPG randomizer in my game rotation ;)
  28.
  29. all money donations made thru streamlabs will go toward this total (bits aren't counted but if you use bits in my channel i will not appreciate it any less of course!!!) so if you feel like donating to my stream it will actually go towards something useful unlike before!
  30.
  31.
  32. hoping to make this happen in my quest to improve everything except the quality of my camera
  33.
  34. thanks all!
