  1. (Really oughta update this one)
  2.
  3. Welcome to (probably) one of the many RWBY /qst/ threads! I hope you have a pleasant stay. Before we begin I want to clarify some key points:
  4. - Been a DM for many tabletop systems across the years so I kinda know my shit
  5. - We'll be using a somewhat homebrew dice system that takes inspiration from what I consider the best /qst/ threads I enjoyed
  6. - My knowledge of RWBY is good but not total (There are many things in media I haven't watched)
  7. - The story starts roughly at the start of Volume 1
  8. - I'll try to make things close to the canon BUT NOT EVERYTHING (Because as RWBY fans know canon sucks starting at a certain point) so I'll take some liberties with those
  9. - No ERP stuff please, not that I dislike it but roleplaying it for this /qst/ feels weird
  10. - English is not my first language so if I fuck up with something then we'll have a laugh and move on
  11. - I can't stress this enough. Fuck the canon RWBY, the later volumes make me cry. This is a protest.
  12. - I'll probably add more stuff in the future, or maybe don't we'll see if this hits off
  13.
  14. With that out of the way I'll explain a little bit the dice system we'll be using:
  15. - The action that will be done depends on a vote system. After a while or when I have time I'll take a look and pick the one that has the most ammount of votes.
  16. - When called for I'll call for a roll of the dice and a DC. Usually a 3d10. For the first 3 replies to my post I'll pick the highest result.
  17. - The result I pick will overall shape the story. The higher it is from the DC the better. The lower too. I like fuck ups.
  18. - The DC will usually change based on the overall stats, traits and narration of the picked vote, so a strong character will have an easier time doing strength stuff.
  19.
  20. After thinking for a little bit I decided to update the stats and stuff. They are mostly self explanatory, but here's a brief description of what I have.
  21. - HEALTH: Self explanatory. If this reaches 0% then you die. To not put numbers I'll say things like 'Healthy', 'Wounded', etc.
  22. - AURA: Kind of a big deal. Serves both as a 'mana bar', 'stamina' and a 'shield' that protects health from damage. As long as it isn't empty your health can't (usually) be damaged. Normal humans/faunus and Grimm don't have Aura of any kind (Usually).
  23. - VIGOR: Mix between Strength and Constitution. How big you lift, how strong you carry, how punchy punchy your punches are, how much you can fight before getting exhausted, etc. Normal humans/faunus range between 1-2, while hunters range between 3-7.
  24. - CUNNING: Mix between Dexterity and Perception. How fast you move, how good you dodge, how fast you react, how quickly you discover secrets, how hard is it to lie to you, etc. Almost the same as above, where normal humans/faunus range between 1-3, while hunters range between 3-5.
  25. - FOCUS: The stat that helps you the most with your Aura and Semblance. The higher it is the stronger the semblance is and the more 'Aura' the user has before it deplets. Most hunters have a stat of 3. Grimm and human/faunus have it at 1 at best (usually).
  26. - DUST: How good you are when it comes to using Dust to modify or enhance your abilities. Sure, everyone can use dust to some extent, but just a few can truly take advantage of this powerful material.
  27. - MELEE/RANGED: How skilled you are when it comes to fighting either with your melee or ranged equipment. Most huntsmen specialize in one, while leaving the other one as a backup/support plan.
  28.
  29. The ranges can easily be exceeded with Semblances (For example, Ruby's Semblance will grant her a strong bonus to Cunning when it comes to speedy related actions.)
  30.
  31. Exceptions may break any rules above depending on the story.
