  2. >Wait.
  3. >Fuck.
  4. >Stupid god damn radio.
  5. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjPqsDU0j2I
  6. >Ah.
  7. >That's better.
  8. >Today was the day.
  9. >Ok so it might not have been Mr Blue Sky outside, but it was going to be!
  10. >The Summer Sun Celebration and there was no time to waste.
  11. >You'd decided to take a quick power nap to be fresh for the sun raising.
  12. >You hopped out of bed with a vigor that was alien to you, you were actually pretty excited about this.
  13. >With a happy smile you opened the curtains.
  14. >You didn't know what to expect, this whole celebration was about Celestia raising the sun.
  15. >Obviously it was still dark out you birk.
  16. >Still, that was no reason to lose your buzz.
  17. >In fact, it was time to get moving.
  18.
  19. >One morning routine later, you were ready to get gone.
  20. >There was nothing to keep you from heading out of the door and getting on your way, although you kept forgetting it was still dark out and therefore pretty cold.
  21. >You didn't care.
  22. >You'd organized to meet your friends outside the town hall, there were some festivities planned for after the sun was raised.
  23. >You weren't surprised to see quite a few ponies on the streets walking toward the town hall.
  24. >This was one of the biggest events to come to Ponyville since you'd arrived here, you'd certainly been swept up in the excitement.
  25. >As you made your way to the centre of the town, you met a few familiar ponies on your way.
  26. >While you weren't close with them all, you'd made an impact on the town and gained a reputation of a nice guy.
  27. >You still stuck out like a sore thumb however.
  28. >You didn't really care, you were just happy to feel like you belonged...sort of.
  29. >Anyway, there was no point dwelling on that.
  30. >You spotted your friends waiting for you.
  31. >Ah the ever present perks of having friends, they actually waited for you!
  32.
  33.
  34. >You were always happy to see those smiles.
  35. >You gave them a little wave as you approached while they began walking toward you to meet you halfway.
  36. >"Anon darling, you've been on time two days in a row. This is so unlike you."
  37. >Rarity chuckled to herself while you rolled your eyes.
  38. >Sharing a laugh, you all headed inside the town hall to get a good view for the raising of the sun.
  39. >It became immediately apparent however that your stature would be a problem.
  40. >You didn't want to get in the way of anyone.
  41. >You made the decision to stick at the back of the room, encouraging your friends to head forward in the mean time.
  42. >No sense they should miss out because you're a lanky fucker.
  43. >They seemed a little tentative to leave you on your own.
  44. >Pinkie especially made a bit of a scene.
  45. >You reassured them that you'd be fine, although eventually Dashie had to drag Pinkie from clinging to you.
  46. >Chuckling, you leant against the back wall to get comfy.
  47. >You wondered if the town hall was big enough to accommodate all these ponies.
  48. >The whole town was turning out for this event.
  49. >You watched as pony after pony poured in through the doors.
  50. >Not really thinking much on anything, you sort of zoned out as you stared forward at the little booth you assume Celestia would make her entrance from.
  51. >That is however until you heard a familiar voice.
  52. >"Hello Mr. Anon"
  53. >Shaking yourself out of your stupor, you looked down and spotted that pony from Canterlot.
  54. >"Looking forward to the raising on the sun?"
  55. >Watching with a raise eyebrow as she walked over and sat down by your side.
  56. >She had a little wooden box with her and her little dragon assistant trotted in after her.
  57. >They both looked pretty exhausted.
  58. "Of course I'm looking forward to it, aren't you?"
  59. >No answer.
  60. >And you thought you were awkward in conversation.
  61.
  62.
  63. >The next few minutes were spent in silence, or at least between the two of you they were.
  64. >Her little dragon had headed to the front, he wanted to see Rarity.
  65. >It was intensely uncomfortable.
  66. >You had to break the silence somehow.
  67. >Clearing your throat seemed to get you cursory glance but not much more.
  68. "Sooo...How are you finding Ponyville so far?"
  69. >She looked up at you for a moment, her shell seemingly cracking a bit.
  70. >"It's...quiet, everypony seems really nice."
  71. "That could be because they are."
  72. >The chuckle you got from that remark at least told you that you were saying something right.
  73. "So what did you do on Summer Celebration's eve?"
  74. >"Well as you know I was inspecting the preparations.
  75. "I helped out with those...sort of."
  76. >"Well they were all pretty good, thankfully they didn't take much time."
  77. >She seemed pretty determined about something, but you were sure that'd come up later.
  78. "So how'd the inspections go?"
  79. >She looked at you with a raised eyebrow, this conversation seeming a a tad pointless to her.
  80. >"Well first was the catering, I sampled some food but most of it was gone due to some family reunion which was thankful."
  81. >Thankful?
  82. >You supposed that AJ could be a little TOO welcoming.
  83. >"Then there were the clouds, the pony who dealt with them did a good job."
  84. >Yeah, only because you woke her up to do it.
  85. >"The decorations were next, as you can see they look great!"
  86. >With a nod you agreed there, Rarity seemingly put in her all when royalty was visiting.
  87. >"Finally was the music, and that sounds pretty good to me."
  88. >You wondered if you actually helped there.
  89. >You couldn't deny that thought all of this looked pretty damn good.
  90. >You also didn't want to feel like you had any part in it, but still it was nice being around while it was done.
  91. >Now all you could hope was that Celestia would like it.
  92. >Speaking of she scheduled to arrive soon.
  93. "Gonna be a big day huh?"
  94. >She took a weird pause at that moment.
  95. >"You have no idea."
  96.
  97.
  98. >Ignoring that odd comment from...
  99. >Wait.
  100. "I don't think I ever got your name."
  101. >You got a little nervous at the look she gave you.
  102. >She seemed weary of you.
  103. >You were thankful she was the one to break the stare.
  104. >"Oh, Twilight Sparkle. Pleasure to meet you Mr. Anon"
  105. >Whenever ponies offered you a handshake as a form of greeting, you had to smirk.
  106. >You had no idea why, it just looked adorable.
  107. >Happily shaking her hoof, you were always happy to make a new friend.
  108. >Now wait a moment.
  109. >Your hand came to a pause as you awkwardly held her hoof.
  110. >She looked at your hand for a moment before giving you a nervous look.
  111. >"Uh, Mr. Anon?"
  112. >You snapped out of it quickly and let of her hoof with a sheepish smile.
  113. "Sorry. This is going to sound weird, but I'm sure we've met before."
  114. >She shot you a look like you were the biggest idiot in the world.
  115. >"Well...of course we have, we met yesterday?"
  116. >You weren't sure if that was the answer of a smart ass or a lack of social skills.
  117. "No, I mean before then."
  118. >"Oh..well we met briefly when you were introduced to Celestia, not formally mind you."
  119. >You knew she looked familiar, she was Celestia's student.
  120. >She had been too wrapped up in a book when you met the princess to really notice you.
  121. "Well it's nice to officially meet you, oh and by the way you can just call me Anon."
  122. >She was about to say something but mayor began some kind of speech.
  123. >The music was building to announce Celestia's arrival
  124. >All attention turned to the balcony, well all except Twilight who was looking out of a window for some reason.
  125. >The suspense was unbearable, just waiting for Celestia to emerge and smile down on you all.
  126. >Rarity pulled the curtains back..
  127. >Nothing.
  128.
  129.
  130. >Gasps ran over the audience, immediately Twilight ran forward through the crowd.
  131. >An awkward silence passed over the crowd, only murmured whispers remained.
  132. >You stood up away from the wall, walking forward a few paces to get a better view.
  133. >The lack of any sign of Celestia grew more worrisome by the second.
  134. >Pinkie was rambling about the possibility of Celestia hiding, did she ever take anything seriously?
  135. >Other ponies continued to worry and guess as to what was going on.
  136. >You wandered over to where your friends stood, they seemed just as confused as anyone. Well, except for Pinkie.
  137. >It was when Rarity emerged from the back room and announced that Celestia was gone that ponies really started to panic.
  138. >Twilight mumbled something to herself, but you couldn't make it out.
  139. >There was an uncomfortable tension in the room.
  140. >You weren't one to panic so easily but you certainly didn't like this one bit.
  141. >You then noticed something.
  142. >There was some kind of strange miasma on the balcony above.
  143. >You squinted in the hopes of getting a clearer view.
  144. >Twilight seemed far more distraught than other ponies in the room whom just seemed a little panicked.
  145. >That all changed when 'she' appeared.
  146. >A tall dark mare stood above all, her mane flowing like the constellations themselves.
  147. >Her dark gaze and evil smile piercing the hearts of all who were in the room.
  148. >"Oh my beloved subjects, it's been too long since-"
  149. >She seemed to stop as her eyes fell over you.
  150. >"What did you do with our princess?!" Rainbow called out as she attempted to make a charge, luckily AJ was there to hold the hothead back.
  151. >The laugh that followed chilled the bones of many ponies around you.
  152. >Her gaze didn't seemed to falter from you.
  153. >You met her eye, trying to remain somewhat calm.
  154. >"It would appear as though one thousand years has brought about many changes.."
  155. >You were in trouble.
