Notch is a Neo-Nazi

Well, the reason this is problematic isn’t the surface statement itself. Obviously, it’s okay to be white. People who are against Notch aren’t arguing that being white isn’t okay.

The thing is, though, that white people aren’t marginalized or oppressed. Sure, there are people who are racist against white people, and that is not okay, but the amount of people who are so is very low compared to people who are racist against black, Asian, Hispanic, etc., people. White people have had rights and freedom since, well, forever. White people have always been considered to be the “default” ethnic group, whereas all other races have, since the dawn of time, fought to be considered equals. That’s changing, thankfully, but there’s still a lot of racism and prejudice in the world.

Back to Notch’s comment saying “It’s okay to be white,” the reason this is a problematic statement is that its meaning is not “Hey, we’re all equal and loved, and prejudice is wrong!” The statement “It’s okay to be white” is a counter statement to black activists and anyone else fighting for the equality and rights of any other race and ethnicity.

Saying “It’s okay to be white” implies that white people are marginalized, which is not true at all. It’s a direct attack towards people who are striving for race equality. It’s, in other words, a spit in the face to any argument for race equality. Notch, and anyone else who says that it’s okay to be white, is pretending that white people go through the same problems as dark-skinned people.

I doubt you need to see eye to eye with me on what I’ve just gone over to realize that Notch is a racist considering that in the very same pastebin that I posted above, I also described how Notch believes that Jewish people have lower IQs than non-Jewish people, which is, obviously, racist and anti-Semitic.
