  1. View of the forest.
  2. A biting cold fills the air, seeping away from a healing shrine of Manteekan nearby. There is but a light breeze blowing. The forest becomes sparse along this area of the hillside, scattered apples and chestnuts gripping the slope with their deep roots. To the north, the vista of Glomdoring can be seen through the branches. Green and brown treetops crowd together, dappled with thin wisps of white mist. A mature rowan tree stands proudly here. Casting darkness all around, a shadow totem thrusts up from the ground, chilling the air.
  3. You see exits leading east and northwest.
  4.
  5. You hum softly, your leaves resonating with song.
  6.
  7. You sit yourself down.
  8.
  9. You have emoted: Silently, Cheliyi places a hand on a mature rowan tree, eyes dull. A brief look of pain crosses her features, but she keeps her palm there.
  10.
  11. Worn, like a weathered piece of driftwood, you say, "... I know you are angry with me. But... I may leave, soon. Very soon."
  12.
  13. You have emoted: Tears surfacing, Cheliyi's expression tightens, and her hand curls on the rowan's trunk with a dull scrape.
  14.
  15. Worn, like a weathered piece of driftwood, you say, "I love you all, so so much. You helped me all my life, keeping me sane and happy. Reminding me when to eat, when to sleep, even when you all require none of it. I cannot repay what you have done for me."
  16.
  17. Worn, like a weathered piece of driftwood, you say, "Brother Rowan..."
  18.
  19. You have emoted: Cheliyi's lips purse, her expression hardening. "But, I cannot leave my new friend. I will repay your gift by loving someone else, just as much as you have for me. I will stay with them, if they'll have me. No, even if they won't. If their own family will not understand, will not help him..."
  20.
  21. The light cloud cover develops further, bathing the firmament in a white blanket.
  22. Glancing across the view, you say, "Then I will. Even if it tears me from you all. You raised me to be honest, to care for those I'm close to, and most importantly, to protect them. I will not waver."
  23.
  24. You have emoted: Cheliyi pauses, her branches suddenly wilting. "... I am sorry I insulted your Mother. She simply wanted to help, I think. I apologized to Her, but She may not accept it."
  25.
  26. Gaze strengthening, her branches spread, you say, "But Gurashi could never hurt the Glomdoring, never. Not even unintentionally. If They asked them to hurt you all, Gurashi would never. They would not waver. They only love Them so much because they trust Them. And while I do not trust Them... I will not fault Gurashi for it."
  27.
  28. The screeching of a crow echoes through the dark woods, sounding almost like harsh laughter.
  29.
  30. Worn, like a weathered piece of driftwood, you say, "... I may have to give up my form, if this goes poorly. But I will be brave, as you taught me."
  31.
  32. You pat a mature rowan tree in a friendly manner.
  33. Worn, like a weathered piece of driftwood, you say, "Thank you for listening, even if you will not respond. I think... I think I want to be quiet now."
