  1. Introduction/Proposal
  2. As you all probably know, the Half-Life 2 server has not been doing as amazing as it was during its first week, and now we can't even manage to have 10 players on, which is pretty sad for a weekend. Obviously we still try to make it live, but some of us don't even enjoy it. I myself do not like the idea that we can't have the same amount of players as we did on launch, and some players that I have asked to get on are just not that interested in it, due to the new Half-Life 2 servers that have shown up, such as Enclave Roleplay, and even Nebulous is still doing okay. They can maintain 20+ for a long while, and we can't really maintain that much for a very long period of time.

  4. I'd like to propose a switch from Half-Life 2, to STALKER Roleplay. I know, I know, you're going to say i'm being WAY too stupid about this considering we just switched, and yes, I realize that a STALKER Roleplay server takes a bit to make, but I think it's worth it, because in the long run, STALKER is a very fun roleplay if the staff can make it work right. Half-Life 2 has obviously not been working out, and the only new players we see now are minges that like to fuck around and make the situation even more worse than it already is. I will list some pros and cons about a STALKER server. Carolum himself has agreed that STALKER would be interesting, and he fully supports this transfer.

  6. PROS & CONS
  7. P-A STALKER server is very easy to get used to, and it offers a variety of gameplay ideas for players. Maybe a player wants to be a technician, or even a trader, and just live a simple life. Maybe a player wants to be a bandit, and rob people of their artifacts or guns that they just received from a mission that took them awhile. Maybe they want to be a mutant, and be apart of events, such as being a bloodsucker, or even a controller, which offers a new type of gameplay that other roleplays just don't have. Or even, maybe people want to join the big faction wars between Duty and Freedom, where they can fight for either containing the zone, or wanting to free the zone. Maybe Monolith, where they can work as fanatical STALKER's, who praise the C-Consciousness, otherwise known as the Common Consciousness.
  8. P-The systems for STALKER are really easy to learn, and can easily be remembered, such as the trading system. The trading system contains four tiers, which each tier has a variety of gear, from bad to great. Tier 1 can consist of low-grade pistols, and maybe a old rifle, or a MP5. An overcoat would be the only clothing in that category. Tier 2 can maybe consist of a better rifle that has a better punch, or an even better pistol, which could be silenced. A Sunrise uniform would be available here. Tier 3 offers assault rifles, and a sniper rifle or two. Perhaps a really good pistol, some decent shotguns for a Stalker. There could be efficient artifact gear here, too. Perhaps a better line of armor too, but not too much, could contain a Beril. Tier 4 would contain the best of the best equipment, which is machineguns, explosive weapons, and the very-prized Radiation Suit, Exoskeleton Suit, and a SEVA suit. A trader starts off with 100k, which is Tier 1. Tier 2 is 200k, Tier 3 is 300k, Tier 4 is 400k. The reason these take awhile to get through the trading tiers is because we don't need a HUGE amount of high-quality gear floating around just at the start. Factions would probably be limited to Tier 2 equipment, and the leader with Tier 3, just at the start. Technicians can also exist too, and they can have their own log for when they do attachments, fixes, or modifications to weapons/armor, and that can provide a different roleplay element for other people, too.
  9. P- There is not a lot of competition anymore for the STALKER Roleplay servers, as I believe Sector Four is not running anymore. A lot of people are veteran STALKER Roleplayers, and it is without a doubt that they would come and join the server. Half-Life 2, frankly, is very old, and it is actually still contested a lot, such as I said with Nebulous and Enclave Roleplay. STALKER would give us a new variety of roleplayers, and that would add even more to the clan, and get a populated server.

  11. P- Events are not that hard to setup. We can have artifact events, item events, mutant events, emission events. There can be an electrical anomaly, which could have a special electrical artifact in it which can be sold at a Trader, or even given to the Ecologists for Research of the artifact if it is special enough. Fire anomalies, electrical anomalies, gravitational anomalies, etc, which can either be stationary, or moving, which provides an even worse threat to players risking their life for an artifact. Maybe a helicopter crashes in a huge anomaly field, and it has a few AK's in it, maybe some uniform, and it depends on whether they are in bad condition, in which they would have to bring it to a technician before they use the weapons, or the clothing. Mutants could be where a trader gives out a mission to go and deal with a pack of bloodsuckers that have been ruining his trade routes, and they need to be taken out effectively for him to get back into business, and he could maybe provide a rifle for free, and a discount when the job is done. Emissions can happen at any given time, which always gives the player an edge when they go out, just to be sure they aren't too far from any shelter. If they are outside during an emission, they will have their brain fried, and probably turned into a zombie. If the player doesn't use anabiotics during the final stage of the emission, they would be immediately dead. Anabiotics put the player totally unconscious, which gives them the threat of being mauled to death by mutants while asleep, but it can still save them fron an emission if they can't get to cover.

  13. C- Yes, I know, the STALKER RP servers do take a long time to make, but I believe they are SO worth it in the long run, and it is really enjoyable. I myself am more inclined to STALKER Roleplay, as I know so much more about it than I do in Half-Life 2 Roleplay, and I think it would be very interesting to other people who are just trying it out, or who are out from the communities that have shutdown awhile ago from STALKER Roleplay.
  14. A lot to read, I know, but I think in our current situation with Half-Life 2 Roleplay, and our changing into a clan where we want more players obviously, due to us being a clan, Stalker Roleplay would be our best bet through all of this. I hope you read through all of this and then you agree, I know I didn't cover everything for the factions, or like the origin of the Zone, but basically it's after the Chernobyl Reactor incident, and it causes a huge Zone to be made, filled with artifacts, and people go there to get the artifacts in which they can sell to have a better life, as the outer world is not doing as great right now. Some want to go there to the wish granter at the Center of the zone, which is rumored to grant any type of wish someone gives it, but it is very dangerous to get there, and the route is currently unknown, but rumoured to be through secret underground tunnels to Pripyat.

  16. There is the Loner faction, Freedom, Duty, Bandits, Ecologists, Military, Clear Sky (Sometimes not used under some circumstances), and the Monolith. Loners don't really have a faction, but they can have buddies. They all can have different goals, such as money via artifacts, or the wish granter in the Center. Freedom are a bunch of people who want the Zone to be free, and obviously by the name, they're the sort of hippie type, and they smoke weed all the time. They get NATO Firearms, so they're quite strong. Duty is a paramilitary faction who want the Zone to be contained. They sometimes deal with medium/big nuisances, such as bandits or a lair of mutants that are killing/stealing from Stalkers. Bandits are self explanatory. Ecologists are just scientists who are researching the Zone. They receive help from Loners, and are the only faction who the Military helps out, and the Military is usually patrolling near their base if absolutely necessary if the Ecologists need it, in a helicopter, or an APC. If the Military is not guarding the Ecologists, Mercenaries can always be hired on. The Military are not good guys in the Zone, and they kill anyone they see. They usually aren't out of their base though, and they try to make sure no one gets in or out of the Zone alive, which they block off areas with special Cordons, which is basically a Military Checkpoint. Clear Sky are militarized scientists, but after the Clear Sky game they are inexistant. Depends whether or not they're used. The Monolith are a bunch of fanatical worshippers of the Common Consciousness, which is at the center of the Zone, which is ultimately responsible for the expansion and creation of The Zone. They shoot to kill anyone they see, and if anyone attempts to capture a member of the Monolith, they have suicide vests, which they will stop at nothing to blow themselves up to avoid capture.

  18. ANYWAY I KNOW THIS IS REALLY UNORGANIZED, BUT PLEASE, PLEASE CONSIDER THIS JAKE. THIS can offer a HUGE variety of different roleplay, which some people may like, as some have not heard of it. The factions all have different roles, and if someone doesn't want a fighting faction, they can just go and be an Ecologist or maybe a Trader. Nothing is really impossible, and it would be a heck load of fun, for both players and Staff. It wouldn't be that hard to regulate the flow of items, either. There is already a gamemode for it, so it's not too hard.
  19.
  20. I know I didn't organize it, but i'm just a really big fanatic about this game, and i'm just trying to make it interesting by including all of the facts for it.

  23.
  24. CONCLUSION: THIS GIVES A SHIT TON OF ROLEPLAY FOR THE PLAYER, AND IF THEY DON'T LIKE ONE TYPE OF ROLEPLAY FOR A SAID FACTION, THEY CAN JUST GO TO THE OTHER FACTION, WHICH THEY MAY BE MORE INCLINED TO DO, LIKE HOW I SAID ABOUT THE FIGHTING FACTIONS, AND THEN PASSIVE ONES, LIKE THE TRADERS AND TECHNICIANS AND ECOLOGISTS. I SUPPORT THIS 110% MORE THAN HALF-LIFE 2.
  25.
  26. NOTE
  27. I am highly experienced with STALKER Roleplay and I can make my own guides for each and every faction. It wouldn't be that hard, and I would really enjoy it. As I said, i'm like a fanboy for STALKER Roleplay.
