  1. "Next you will say 'Joseph I don't think we're in Halkegenia anymore'" The words came unbidden to my mouth as my former master stirred. I'd awakened a bit ago to find us in a hotel, with three very interesting items laid out on the table, the first was a complete documentation of the history of one "Joebob Josephson", the second was a map of the surrounding area with a "you are here" indicator right across the street from what was labeled as the Steel Ball Run registration, and the final and by far most interesting of the three was a simple 「arrow」with a beetle design on the head. After a quick examination with my abilities as the Mind of God I determined the identification mundane, but the map appeared to be self updating and the Arrow was indeed the Arrow.

  3. "Joseph I don't think we're in Halkegenia anymore, wait what? Since you're being so smart with me I assume you've found out where we are?" Well it appears Louise was finally stirring, time to get going.
  4.
  5. "I've got a decent idea, much the same as your world and the previous one I bear 「recollections」of it from my first life, in this case the chronicles of one Johnny Joestar. Quite remarkable really, we've got the chance to find the Corpse of a person who held a position akin to Brimir in some of this world's religions. As previously the reliability of my information will be lost once we start acting on it." Interesting that she should come along, I'll have to poke at that more later. The other question is if the「ten years」in the previous two worlds a coincidence or some unseen law of whatever is causing my current problems.
  6.
  7. Louise's eyes light up "A「Saint」you say? But anyway you're still dodging the question, where are we?"
  8.
  9. "San Diego California, although the really interesting question is 'when are we?' you see we're currently in the year 1890 but a version of it that never happened in my Earth nor the Earth we occasionally went to via the World Door spell. Anyway let's go get acquainted with the local flavor, I've got some things I'd like to try and would like to know how long we have to prepare for the race, speaking of which..." I toss the Arrow lightly to her in an arc. "Catch!" She closes her hands around it but the tip still hits one of her fingers.
  10.
  11. "Idiot familiar! What was that for?" With that she pulled out her wand, completely missing the presence above her shoulder. Okay good, that was two things off of my list of things to see about, since I could see Stands and the Arrow wasn't attracted to me it appears I have a Stand, it just had some oddity in how it functioned preventing manifestation. On the plus side this situation wasn't nearly as bad as the time I figured out Firstborn Magic. And of course then right in front of me appears a battered copy of myself from a few years back reciting the very same words I did on that fateful day, I could now sort of feel the switch that had been flipped by that but I couldn't turn it off. Well shit, that's not going to end well even without the other end of that exchange.

  13. "Louise I fear we must depart, I know this is all quite bizarre but it seems explanations will have to wait." With that I hefted her over my shoulder, grabbed the map and ID and ran, with her Stand close behind. Figuring it was probably the path to least casualties I set the beds on fire with my Sting and then ran out the door shouting fire, because it's not like people would take me shouting about a sudden tornado out of nowhere seriously. On the plus side I'd figured out what my Stand does.
