  1. There is a certain nauseating appeal to destruction, ideally when observed from a safe distance. It takes time, and a skilled craftsman to create something of substance, but it takes nothing more than some dolt with a flame, or the equivalent, be it scalding criticism, for works of fiction, or literally flame for more physical works, to burn it down in an instant. Destruction is assessable, and at times, therapeutic, at best, and at worst, it’s somber and sadistic.
