Minds.com FAQ for newbies

Feb 24, 2018

I'm new here too. Here's what I've learned about Minds.

  1. Don't forget to hit the paper airplane to send or save your post. I forgot that once.
  2. A blog post is a post with extra text formatting features, including a header image you can set for every blog post. A "normal" post has no formatting. Both have the paper airplane "send/save" symbol you must click to save it. You can always edit it later. This paper airplane is on my mobile Gmail app but found nowhere else in the Windows world I have seen (I use mostly PC Windows programs).
  3. You don't have a separate blog that you create more "posts" in. You just make separate blog posts each with it's own header image. There is no default image for a blog post.
  4. To format text in a blog post select the text and a formatting bar should appear above the text. Click the icon to format the text as you want.
  5. "Normal" non-blog posts don't seem to support Markdown or any formatting.

Your own page

  1. On your own page you can post text or images. Pasting in an URL to an image does not work, you must click the paperclip icon to attach an image or video.

Groups

  1. Groups are a topic where people can post "normal" posts without formatting.
  2. If you want to post in a group, you must go to that group, and post there. When you click the airplane save button your post will be shown as "posted in (group name)".
  3. You can join a group and will automatically get notifications when someone posts there. To turn off noticiations go to the main group page, click the gear icon, and click "Disable notifications".
