  14. Another wild idea from Atlantis. Though, after my experiences and increased knowledge that resulted from my mental connection to the entity known as "Gamera", I can now, with confidence and clarity, presume every single thing we dig up on Atlantis's culture to have some realistic basis.
  15.
  16. The Warmongers are common knowledge, and the study of non-standard DE energy is the most promising science in recent years. We've learned so much, and yet there's still a lot more to learn. But Mana? That's a whole different story.
  17.
  18. We've only scratched the surface on what non-standard DE energy is, and its many anomalous properties. But Mana throws all of that into utter chaos. On paper, Mana, as the Atlanteans described it, was supposed to be the manifestation of the energy of both living beings and the Earth itself.
  19.
  20. The concept in and of itself is nothing new. Countless cultures around the globe have had some variation of this universal inner energy at some point or another. NSDEE is similar in that it's a strange energy form only accessible by living beings either through high stress situations, traumatic experiences, or combining a living being with an NSDEE matrix within a Warmonger.
  21.
  22. However, Atlantis managed to derive the energy of both animate and inanimate objects, a type of energy that is similar to, yet different than, NSDEE. Somehow, these machines utilize a combination of electromagnetism and varying degrees of sounds of several different pitches, volumes, and frequencies, all tuned to a specific pattern, very similar to our own matrix technology in Warmongers, only much more sophisticated.
  23.
  24. Another similarity to the Warmonger matrix is the need for living matter to be placed into the electromagnetic field, acting as a conduit to draw out Mana. How it's all connected, we still don't know, but what we do know is that this technique can be used to bring life to any sort of bioengineered creation, including Gamera himself. Even in supposed death, using this technology, provided there was enough energy fed into the process, life could be forced back into an individual.
  25.
  26. The applications are still being explored.

  35. [Footnotes]:
  36.
  37. This subject is quite the curious case, and has my interest piqued. Although we know that Atlantis was an accomplished civilization of metaphysical and biological engineering, as was the case with the Gyaos, Irys, and Gamera, they were no slouches when it came to mechanical automata, either.
  38.
  39. They had plenty of analogues to things we currently possess such as dedicated laboratory equipment, transportation, medicine, the like. But what we never expected was such a sophisticated foray into the field of artificial intelligence.
  40.
  41. Using the same method of extracting Mana from their surroundings to imbue life into their biological creations, they also used the process to gift their automata with intelligence, using Orichalcum as a base element to construct an A.I. matrix that could hold this energy without needing a living conduit.
  42.
  43. We've been experimenting with this technique ourselves for quite some time, but with little success. But the most intriguing of these A.I.s was the Transhuman Mechanical Surrogate.
  44.
  45. The Mimetics, a comparatively simple translation of the ancient script compared to others, were an almost identical analogue to the Synthetics we call fellow people in our everyday lives, serving a role similar to them in everyday life before they were granted the status as equals to Humans.
  46.
  47. According to the records I've managed to dig up, the Mimetics were an early attempt to create a completely artificial Human being that could walk, talk, and think on its own. The Atlanteans' top scientists were largely successful.
  48.
  49. Too successful.
  50.
  51. The Mimetics, apparently tired of serving Humanity, revolted decades before the rise of the Gyaos and Irys that destroyed Atlantis, but they were promptly suppressed, and their production was halted altogether. This is a chilling tale of mechanical sentience gone wrong, and should serve as an example of what may have happened had we not given our own artificial counterparts independence.
  52.
  53. It seems that the technology that resulted in their creation was too precious to simply destroy, so the Atlanteans opted to keep them in storage, using them as reference for various other future projects, before ultimately succumbing to their own creations many years later.
  54.
  55. We don't know how many of these things are around, but one thing is certain: they aren't coming back to life anytime soon.
